The biggest feast Survivor’s Maria ever had wasn’t last week’s scrumptious Applebee’s meal. No sir. It was the epic blindside of Tiffany, which she says at the top of Wednesday’s episode “lit such a fire in me.” But does claiming credit for such a major move make Maria the game’s biggest target?
In short: Yup!

CBS has released a bonus scene from Survivor 46. It comes from when the newly merged tribe came up with its name and painted the flag.
This scene was filmed on Day 15 of Survivor 46 before Tevin Davis got blindsided by the next Tribal Council vote.
It’s a drama-free scene that could have been good within an episode, but many scenes hit the cutting room floor each year.
The video also reveals what each castaway chose to represent them on the flag, with one person going a different route from everyone else.
When comparing this flag to hang-painted efforts from the past, the Survivor 46 cast certainly stands out. It’s a fun one.

A new episode of Survivor 46 saw a medical evacuation from Fiji.
Randen Montalvo woke up one day with a loss of feeling in his right hand.
The Survivor medical team checked him over and let him continue playing the game.
Later in the episode, the medical personnel had a change of heart, feeling it would be safer to pull Randen from the game.
Randen was officially medically evacuated from Fiji on Day 7 of the season. He became the third person eliminated from the game.
After the episode concluded, a short segment had Randen speaking to the cameras again. He spoke about doing much better after receiving treatment. But there’s more to the story.

I’m going to speak on behalf of Survivor fans everywhere just this once: We never want to see a player go down like that, and not just because Tribal Council was cancelled!
In Wednesday’s episode, a Nami castaway had medical called in due to numbness in his arm and an overall inability to grip with his hand. That poor soul was Randen, who ultimately sat out of this week’s immunity challenge due to his condition. But after consulting with colleagues and conducting some research, the show’s head doctor (along with Jeff) decided to pull him from the game.

Raise of hands if you miss Survivor’s villainous castings of yesteryear. Sure, Venus may have been compared to Parvati in Wednesday’s two-hour Season 46 premiere, but when you pan out to take in this hungry batch of newbies, it’s giving Heroes vs. Heroes… vs. Heroes.

“Survivor 46” cast
CBS will officially announce the identities of the 18 cast members in early 2024, although viewers got their first glimpse of the newbies during the “Survivor 45” finale — watch the preview trailer below. As usual, they all come from diverse backgrounds and walks of life, in adherence to the network’s 50% diversity mandate. This was put into effect in 2020 and ensures that half of its reality TV casts must be Black, Indigenous or People of Color (Bipoc).

Jeff Probst is sharing his thoughts on why Canadian “Survivor” players have been so successful at the complex game.
“They come out of the gate and they play.”
“I think Canadians have been doing well on ‘Survivor’ for one reason — they had to wait so long to play,” he told Et Canada. “It’s kind of like a second-chance season. They’ve just been waiting for years and years and years, and so they come out of the gate and they play.

“It’s the one thing that we constantly tell players: you have to play to win,” he said. “Canadians come to have fun and play to win.”
For the first 38 seasons of the hit competition series, Canadians were not allowed to compete on the show; however, that all changed when retired NHL player Tom Laidlaw, 65, became the first Canadian...

Charity Lawson had a surprise visitor on Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelorette”. After the leading lady pulled “the most absurd s**t” ever by sending Aaron packing after his Hometown date, she entered Fantasy Suite week with decision “weighing” on her.
Back in San Diego, Aaron was feeling it too, so he decided Charity was “worth fighting for” and hopped a plane to Fiji to win her back.
“I was shocked. Literally, so shocked. Did not expect that,” Charity told Et’s Denny Directo at the “Men Tell All” taping last month. “But I think it said a lot, obviously, that he was willing to [fight for me]… Hearing his heart and why he decided to come back really stood out to me. He’s a fighter and he really cared a lot about me and wanting this. It’s a lot with Aaron.”

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Monday’s episode of ABC’s The Bachelorette.
Charity Lawson’s quest to fall in love has officially left the United States…for Fiji!
If all goes according to plan, Charity will be getting engaged in just a few short weeks. Last week, she met the families and narrowed down her final four to three. Xavier, Dotun and Joey are all still vying for the opportunity to propose to Charity. But first, fantasy suites.
Before she gets on with the dates, Charity breaks down her feelings with host Jesse Palmer. She says that her decision to send Aaron home is still weighing on her, but she’s hoping that spending some uninterrupted time with the remaining men will help her feel more confident in her final three contestants. She seems to feel most secure in her relationship with Dotun, and she still has...

Warning: the following article contains spoilers from the ninth episode of “Survivor 44” on CBS — read at your own risk!
The April 26 hour ended in a bit of a shocker, as Kane Fritzler was voted out with Jaime Lynn Ruiz‘s fake idol in his pocket. Jaime had secretly given Kane her fake idol (which she believed to be real) earlier in the day, in order to prevent someone from stealing it thanks to a potential Knowledge Is Power advantage. For the record, no such advantage has appeared yet in Season 44.
We know what you’re thinking: once Jeff Probst started reading Kane’s name aloud in vote after vote, why didn’t Kane pass Jaime’s fake idol back to her? Well, simply put, it’s not allowed. Last year, Probst addressed this exact rule with Entertainment Weekly when a similar scenario happened during “Survivor 43.”

Survivor castaways rarely form romantic connections, aka showmances, during the game. And that’s mostly because they’re focused on winning the $1 million and the title of Sole Survivor, but also because they go days and weeks without taking a shower or brushing their teeth. However, every once in a while, two players can’t deny their chemistry (which seems to be happening in season 44), and a Survivor showmance forms.

As a quick note, our list of the five most recent Survivor showmances doesn’t include couples who got together after their seasons ended or before they began.
The CBS reality competition series’ last showmance was between Dan Rengering and Kara Kay in David vs. Goliath. Producers assigned them to the Goliath tribe to start the game, and they immediately hit it off.

“Survivor 44” contestant Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho reports that his husband says he doesn’t “shut up” which will make it impossible for him to “fly under the radar” in the game. The 35-year old beauty salon owner from Puerto Rico plans to combat that talkative nature by letting his guard down. Watch their full CBS interview below.
Yam Yam calls his home country “amazing” and that “just like Fiji, it’s beautiful, but the humidity sucks.” He jokes, “But I’m used to it sucking, so of course I’m gonna win!” He is hoping to “represent” for all Puerto Ricans watching at home.

A version of this story about “Survivor” first appeared in the Limited Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
The statistics are formidable: 22 years, 42 seasons, 626 contestants, more tribal councils than you can shake a stick (or a torch) at, more puzzle pieces than all the preschools in California put together. Granted, those last two aren’t actual statistics, but you get the point: “Survivor,” one of the shows that essentially created the reality-competition genre, has been around for a long time.
And Jeff Probst, who has been the show’s host since the beginning and an executive producer for most of that time, knows that it’s not easy to stay fresh. That was one of the keys for Seasons 41 and 42, which found the show not only mixing up the game play more than usual but also dealing with issues of race and privilege in unexpected ways.

It’s the first film to be translated into Tahitian (Moana means ocean). And according to many who worked on the film and participated in a recent press conference to discuss it, Moana epitomizes Polynesian “Aloha Spirit.” That means a state of mind that encourages friendly acceptance of others, as well as the mental determination needed to...
