Los Angeles, July 8 (Ians) The protests from Writers Guild of America (WGA) has taken Hollywood by storm leading to the delay and even cancellation of various projects. Now marking its 67th day, the WGA protests have gained support from the cast and crew of popular comedy-drama show ‘Ugly Betty’.

On day 67 of The Writers Guild of America strike, the cast and creatives behind three popular shows joined the picket lines across Los Angeles.
Bright and early at 9:30 a.m. over at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, there was an Ugly Betty reunion with stars Ana Ortiz and Chris Gorham joining writers Brian Tannen, Gabrielle Stanton, Sheila Lawrence, Chris Black, Henry Myers, Cameron Litvack and Tracy Poust on the special picket.
Ugly Betty, based on the hit Spanish-language novela Betty La Fea, aired for four seasons from 2006 to 2010. America Ferrera portrayed the titular Betty Suarez, an unconventional beauty whose unique sense of style doesn’t preclude her from landing a gig at a top fashion magazine. The project was developed by Silvio Horta for ABC and also starred Mark Indelicato, Eric Mabius, Tony Plana, Becki Newton and Michael Urie.

NBC is developing a drama series inspired by the Narratively article ““The First Family of Counterfeit Hunting” by Amy Ridout.
Per the official logline, “Two brothers reunite after a long estrangement and are pulled into a special investigation surrounding closed FBI cases. Known as “Knockoffs,” these cases have been manipulated or outright fabricated to pin the crime on someone innocent and protect the real criminal who’s still out there.”
Cameron Litvack is writing and executive producing. Justin Lin, Andrew Schneider, and Salvador Gatdula of Perfect Storm Entertainment will also executive produce along with Noah Rosenberg for Narratively. Universal Television will produce, with Perfect Storm currently under an overall deal at the studio.
Litvack’s past credits include “True Story” starring Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes at Netflix, “Quantico” starring Priyanka Chopra at ABC, “Grimm” at NBC, and “Ugly Betty” at ABC. He is repped by UTA and Felker Toczek.

This is a rare case of no news being good news!
Almost two years after Wu Assassins debuted its freshman season on Netflix, the streamer has confirmed its future.
A movie follow-up has been ordered as opposed to a full-fledged second season, but fear not:
Wu Assassins Season 2 could materialize at Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It's also possible that the franchise could continue with additional movies. There are many unanswered questions at this moment in time, but it's nice to know the story will continue in some form.
Now, with such a long time between the first season and this movie being ordered, there will be some casting changes.
The returning cast includes Iko Uwais as Kai Jin, Lewis Tan as Lu Xin Lee, Lawrence Kao as Tommy Wah, and JuJu Chan Szeto as Zan Hui.
There are some new additions to the cast, however.

Sony’s Crackle is developing a series reimagining of the Joseph Conrad novel “Heart of Darkness,” Variety has learned exclusively.
The project is set in the future where Earth is a distant memory. It is described as an exploration of what it means to be human on a space odyssey where the survival of the human race hangs in the balance and will explore themes of race, immigration, and colonization much like the book.
“Heart of Darkness” has been adapted in various forms over the years. Perhaps most famously, it served as the inspiration for Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 Academy Award-winning Vietnam war film “Apocalypse Now” starring Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando in the main roles from the novel.
Cameron Litvack serves as writer as well as showrunner. He will executive produce along with Branden Morgan and Tony Giglio.

There's a case of mistake identity in this week's episode of Forever... but then isn't there always?
This review contains spoilers.
1.10 The Man in the Killer Suit
The latest Forever story suits up to prove the pen is mightier than the sword.
It’s always a curious thing when crime shows cover identity fraud, because by definition everyone involved in the performing side of a TV show is doing exactly that. That’s the subject this week, when Henry is called to unravel the untimely death of an English noble, only to discover he’s neither of those things.
There’s a repeating narrative thread from the outset about how a man’s suit can present him in a specific way, selling an idea, and it’s woven right through the story. There is also an early parallel drawn between the fraudster and Henry, who is hiding his true identity...

Grimm Review, Season 1, Episode 12: “Last Grimm Standing”
Written by Naren Shankar and Sarah Goldfinger (teleplay) and Cameron Litvack and Thania St. John (story)
Directed by Michael Watkins
Airs Fridays at 9pm Est on NBC
Suspense is back – this episode contains enough of a twist to entertain. Yeah, the appearance of Nick Chinlund with his X-Files/Buffy/rent-a-villain credentials firmly in place was a bit of a giveaway, but the writers manage enough sleight of hand to keep his part in the story an entertaining surprise.
We’ve known since the pilot that Nick’s boss, Renard, is part of the Vesen world – not a Grimm like Nick, but in a position to tell Reapers to back off in that old fashioned way, by removing a small, non-essential body part...

Grimm, Ep.1.08: “Game Ogre”
Written by Cameron Litvack and Thania St. John
Directed by Terence O’Hara
Airs Fridays at 9pm Et on NBC
So far in the series, most of the drama has centered around Nick and his problems in keeping the two sides of his life – the cop side and the Grimm side – separate. It’s fun to meet a monster every week, but to keep us tuning in, the writers have to find a source of tension they can sustain from episode to episode. They’ve done this by constantly putting Nick in situations where his status as a Grimm might be revealed – usually to his partner Hank – and this episode plays this card again, this time by once again involving Munroe in helping the two cops run down an escaped convict who is out for revenge and having Nick, Hank, and Munroe all have to interact with each other,...

Grimm Review, Season 1 Episode 3, “Beeware”
Written by Cameron Litvack & Thania St. John
Directed by Darnell Martin
Airs Fridays on NBC at 9pm (Et)
Early in the episode, Nick is trying to access a tweet from a cloned phone, but the suspect using the phone is cautious and has found a way to block the signal.
‘Can you get round it?’ Nick asks Sergeant Wu.
‘Of course I can.’ Wu replies, tapping at his keyboard, ‘I’m Asian.’
Grimm has avoided the whimsy trap, but it could still go the way of Person of Interest and become a police procedural with window dressing. The solution is a cast of supporting characters who are worth watching just for themselves (Reggie Lee’s interpretation of Wu is ‘Officer Sulu before his first coffee of the day’) and enough quirky and gruesome detail to make the storylines satisfyingly rich and interesting. My favorite examples...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episode 6 – The Academy

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episode 5 – Corruption

Moogan smugglers have been sneaking in supplies, including bottled tea destined for the Mandalorian schools. To increase their profits, they have been diluting the tea with a hazardous chemical.”
So far this is the worst episode of the season, maybe the worst one of all 3 seasons. What it boils down to is Padmé is tougher than the Mandalorian security guarding the Dutchess, and Mandalorian children like to drink poisoned tea… okay maybe not poisoned tea, but if you were going to dilute tea, why not just use water instead of a hazardous chemical? Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episode 1 – Clone Cadets
Written by Cameron Litvack | Directed by Dave Filoni
“Five headstrong clones struggle to complete their training on Kamino. These cadets — Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait, Fives and Echo — seem to be a “bad batch” and are unable to work as a team. As Shaak Ti and drill instructors Bric and El-Les debate the cadets’ fate, the clones learn to work together and accept their destiny as soldiers.”
This was a good start to Season 3, a very enjoyable prequel to the season 1
episode “Rookies”, plenty of action with Domino squad being put through their paces during training on Kamino. It continues with the idea developed in the novels and animated shows that even though the clones have the same genetics their personalities differ greatly. With a title like "We Can't Win," we know that something's going to drastically change in the eighth episode of V. The episode will not only contain the first meeting of two of our main characters, but it will also feature Chad, Anna, and several other Vs doing something that looks important. That something important is the U.N. energy summit, where Anna is "going to present a gift of technology to the world." Knowing the Vs like we do, that can't be good. It's probably a power grab. Here's the press release for episode eight, "We Can't Win," followed by a gallery of promotional photos. This will also be the first episode in a while not to feature Georgie — which doesn't sound good for his character in next week's episode, "John May." It sounds very, very, bad…
