A question that hasn’t really been talked about much in the entertainment world is the whole spin-offs, remakes, and reboots thing. How smart is it to consider bringing back something that was super successful? Lost was a big deal back in the day, and it really kicked off this conversation in the 2000s when the show wrapped up after six seasons.

Ian Somerhalder and Evangeline Lilly, who were part of the cast, have shared their thoughts on this topic before, strongly believing that reviving something like Lost wouldn’t be a great idea. They both have pretty convincing reasons for their stance.

Minka Kelly leads the cast in Blackwater Lane, bringing to life Cass Anderson, a drama teacher struggling to understand disturbing events unfolding around her. Adapted from B.A. Paris’s novel The Breakdown, the film follows Cass down a twisting path of supernatural mysteries and unraveling mental health.
Dermot Mulroney and Maggie Grace co-star as Cass’s husband and best friend, their performances deepening the intricate narrative. Set in a sprawling English countryside manor, the film weaves psychological thrillers with supernatural elements.
Director Jeff Celentano builds tension through the lush yet unsettling backdrop. Viewers are drawn into Cass’s deteriorating mental state as uncanny occurrences disrupt her life. Meanwhile, Minka Kelly’s emotionally powerful portrayal anchors the movie in grounded psychological drama.
The film also probes timely themes of trauma and gaslighting through Cass’s experiences. While not without flaws, Blackwater Lane remains an engaging mystery that borders on horror. Overall,...

Before Ian Somerhalder became the heartthrob of millions of young teens with The Vampire Diaries, he was one of the lead characters in Lost. The actor had his breakthrough with the role and was one of the first main characters to die in the series. Despite that, he reportedly considers the show the best time of his life.
Somerhalder recently gave an interview stating the reasons why he left acting at the peak of his career. Playing Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries seemed to be a position that people killed to have, but Somerhalder mentioned that he wanted to focus more on his family and the environmental conservation projects that he was working on.

We have to go baaaaaack… to the night that ABC’s Lost first splashed onto the airwaves.
Sunday, Sept. 22 marks the 20th anniversary of the supernatural-tinged mystery drama’s debut. So we thought it a good opportunity to flash back — not forward, nor sideways — to the two-hour premiere that aired across a pair of Wednesdays in September 2004, cost a record $10 million to $14 million to make (versus the industry average at that time of $4 million), and averaged 18 million total viewers.

When the pilot of "Lost" aired on ABC in September of 2004, it became an instant hit for the network and catapulted its sprawling cast to stardom in the process. Created by J.J. Abrams alongside Jeffrey Lieber and Damon Lindelof — the last of whom would eventually become a co-showrunner with Carlton Cuse — "Lost" begins in the immediate aftermath of a massive plane crash on a deserted island, but things quickly get very, very complicated. When Oceanic flight 815 crashes on that island while traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles, the audience is introduced to the survivors ... and throughout the first season, they all get a closer look through flashbacks set before they ever boarded the doomed flight.
I should say this up-front: the cast of "Lost" is huge, so not every single important character will get a spotlight here. As far as the core cast is concerned,...

We’re introduced to Ben Grady, still reeling from the sudden death of his wife Sarah. Played by Grant Rosenmeyer, Ben sits numbly, having forgotten even basic needs in his grief.
When his concerned sister Gloria suspects the worst, Ben finds purpose through a chance online video. It shows a mysterious man appearing to fly, sparking Ben’s belief this “secret art” could help him.
Directed by H.P. Mendoza, The Secret Art of Human Flight tells the story of Ben’s journey to learn this impossible feat. Partnering with eccentric teacher Mealworm, played compellingly by Paul Raci, Ben undergoes strange training.
As Ben transforms, we glimpse his past through lovingly made home videos with Sarah. Guided by Mendoza’s empathy, Ben works through raw anguish to a richer understanding of life, love, and finding clarity even in mystery. With quirky charm, this film takes us along as one man rediscovers...

I know it doesn’t feel like 2004 was 20 years ago, but it was, which means many great TV shows just turned 20 years old.
Seriously, 2004 is a sneaky good year for new TV premieres. Most of the titles on this list of good TV shows turning 20 years old in 2024 were broadcast hits. The cable networks had a decent market share in the early 2000s, but we’re still a decade before the streaming industry changed the TV game.
At this point in TV history, we’re still seven years before the Game of Thrones premiere. Remember that, please!
Let’s get the list started with the best show of 2004!

This article contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead season 8 and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
With the sprawling world of AMC’s The Walking Dead ballooning to a franchise that includes sequels, prequels, and anthology series, it’s easy to forget the humble roots of the Frank Darabont days and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up in the Harrison Memorial Hospital. While it’s sometimes hard to keep track of the various branches of the Deadverse, few have continued the story as faithfully as Fear the Walking Dead.
Starting out as a prequel to the events of the main series, Fear the Walking Dead soon took on a life of its own and told an epic story across eight seasons. Now that the whole story saga is on Netflix, it’s time to look back at the highs and lows of the shuffling series and how Fear the Walking Dead...

A new episode of the Revisited video series has arrived online this morning… and this time around, we’re looking back at a movie that has a very bad reputation: director Rupert Wainwright’s 2005 remake of the John Carpenter cult classic The Fog (you can watch the remake Here). This video sets out to explain “Why The Fog fails,” and you can hear all about it in the embed above.
Directed by Wainwright from a screenplay written by Cooper Layne, The Fog remake feels like an attempt to put a J-horror-style twist on the ideas from Carpenter’s film. It has the following synopsis: The prosperous town of Antonio Bay, Oregon is born in blood, as the town’s founders get their money by murdering a colony of lepers. But the truth of what they did is concealed from subsequent generations. More than 100 years later, Elizabeth Williams, whose family lives in Antonio Bay,...

Liam Neeson’s career took a turn by the beginning of 2009 after his one film propelled him to the status of an action star. Maggie Grace stars in a new British thriller Blackwater Lane, and the actress reflects back on her career in her latest interview with The Independent. The actress would become known widely as Liam Neeson‘s daughter from Taken — who went on the fateful trip that led to her kidnapping, which in turn gave Neeson a second career as an action star. She also reflects on her time on the hit ABC TV drama Lost. Grace portrayed Shannon Rutherford on that island as the resident “rich-girl-with-regrets.” The J.J. Abrams-produced and written show had premiered 20 years ago, but Grace still calls her exit from it to be one of the most heartbreaking aspects of her career.
As Lost comes up in the conversation, the interviewer insists that what made Grace’s abrupt killing on the show shocking was that she seemed to be the heart of the early episodes and especially...

Maggie Grace, who played Shannon Rutherford on hit ABC drama Lost, has recalled her relatively short stint on the series, saying she had hoped there would be more story for her character. The actress told The Independent in an interview published today that Shannon being killed off in episode six of the second season is “still the worst heartbreak of my career. I was devastated!”
Shannon began the series as a spoiled and unsympathetic character, but ultimately softened as her relationship with Sayid (Naveen Andrews) blossomed. As with several former series regulars, Grace’s Shannon returned for the 2010 Lost finale.
Grace elaborated that she “thought they were gonna take (Shannon) a little further,” but said she understood the reasoning, telling The Independent that the character “was sort of a caricature of white privilege before that was a phrase, you know? And maybe I was just too good at my assigned job of being incredibly annoying.

"If you can’t trust yourself, who can you trust?" Lionsgate has debuted an official trailer for Blackwater Lane, yet another of these cheap and clunky thrillers that looks like it was made-for-tv in the 90s. This is getting released in June right away on VOD if anyone cares. Adapted from the book titled "The Breakdown" written by B.A. Paris. Late one night a woman drives by a stranded motorist who is later revealed to have been murdered. After a series of terrifying events the woman believes she is the killer's next victim. From the book: "The only thing she can't forget is that woman, the woman she might have saved, and the terrible nagging guilt. And the silent calls she's receiving, or the feeling that someone's watching her..." Blackwater Lane stars Minka Kelly, Maggie Grace, Dermot Mulroney, with Natalie Simpson, Kris Johnson, Edward Baker-Duly, and Pandora Clifford. "It doesn't make any sense.

The “Hearties” are still waiting to hear when they can expect When Calls the Heart Season 11 to hit Hallmark Channel, but in the meantime, we have a milestone to celebrate! January 11 marks When Calls the Heart’s 10th anniversary, and it’s been a decade full of drama — both in the fictional Coal Valley and, occasionally, in real life. In honor of the show’s 10th birthday, here are some fun facts about the Hallmark hit that you might not know… It was a Hallmark movie before it was a Hallmark series. Before producer Michael Landon Jr. developed the When Calls the Heart TV show, he turned the same Janette Oke story into a Hallmark movie. Also titled When Calls the Heart, that 2013 movie featured Maggie Grace, Jean Smart, and Stephen Amell. And Lori Loughlin plays Abigail in both versions. The original plan was to film When Calls the Heart in Colorado.

Pierre Morrel's 2008 film "Taken" is brazenly morally irresponsible.
"Taken" was not so much a thriller as an indulgent "dad fantasy," rooted in xenophobia and male sexual hysterics. The lead character, Bryan Mills, played by a wholly devoted and utterly capable Liam Neeson, was a divorced dad of a teenage girl named Kim (Maggie Grace) who saw his clout as a parent disappearing into the wealthy black hole of a cold-shouldered ex-wife (Famke Janssen) and her attentive new husband (Xander Berkeley). Bryan is a former CIA agent, and his job kept him away from home enough to damage his marriage. When Kim announces that she and a friend are going on an international holiday together, Bryan warns her that such an excursion is dangerous; kidnappers, he knows, often target traveling American teenage girls and sell them into sexual slavery. It sounds paranoid and everyone dismisses him.
Perhaps predictably, Kim is almost...

Every Sunday evening, loyal Hearties take a break from real life and are transported to the world of Hope Valley. For 10 seasons (soon to be 11), Hallmark Channel’s beloved series When Calls the Heart has explored the stories of schoolteacher Elizabeth and the other residents of the small town on the Canadian frontier.
While Hallmark has brought Hope Valley to life on screen, fans can thank author Janette Oke for crafting the stories that inspired the show, which is based on her Canadian West series. And while When Calls the Heart diverted from its source material some time ago, Oke’s books remain a companion to the show. So, if you want to experience a different version of Elizabeth’s story, here are all the When Calls the Heart books, in order.

When we meet Ben Grady (Grant Rosenmeyer), he can barely lift himself out of the living room chair. By the end of this lo-fi indie drama, he’s soaring among the clouds like some kind of schlubby superhero — or one of those kids from “Chronicle” — having mastered what “The Secret Art of Human Flight” calls … well, you heard the title. Maybe not “mastered” exactly, but Ben’s finally getting the hang of it, and that’s exhilarating, since flying couldn’t be farther from the state we found him in earlier, wallowing in melancholy after the unexpected death of his wife Sarah (Reina Hardesty).
As presented by director H.P. Mendoza, Ben and Sarah were practically the cutest couple you could imagine. They published children’s books together and made video diaries for their followers on TikTok, which Ben insisted they turn into a kind of insurance policy so that each...

Mendoza directs the film from a screenplay by Jesse Orenshein. Mendoza shot the film with “I Think You Should Leave” cinematographer Markus Mentzer.

Evangeline Lilly has spoken about the backlash she received for attending an anti-vaccine mandate in 2022 for the first time.
The Ant-Man star shared photographs from the rally supporting “bodily sovereignty” in Washington DC on her Instagram.
Lilly, in the caption of her Instagram post, wrote that she believed nobody should be “forced to inject their body with anything, against their will”.
She also listed a number of alleged consequences – without furnishing proof – that those who remained unvaccinated were “under the threat of” starvation and homelessness.
This was the same rally where leading anti-vaxxer Robert F Kennedy Jr compared vaccine mandates to life under the Nazis.
Getting vaccinated has been proven and corroborated by experts to be the safest way to avoid the risk of hospitalisation from Covid.
In a new interview with Esquire to promote her latest film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, she recalled thinking at the time: “I...
