Although it's been over a decade since dinosaurs roamed the earth, or at least the silver screen in the "Jurassic" franchise, as of today there's one more thing we do know about 2015's "Jurassic World": who we're rooting against. According to a Variety report, veteran actor Vincent D'Onofrio has signed on to be the villain in the sure-to-be-blockbuster coming next summer. A massive section of ironwork collapsed at Toronto's Downsview Park Saturday afternoon prior to Radiohead's planned show there, leaving one dead and three injured.According to Toronto Police, the deceased man was in his thirties. Given that the show was not yet open to the audience, he was likely a member of Radiohead's tour crew. The man's name is not yet being released until such time as police are able to notify his family. Two of the injured were treated and released with minor injuries. The third, 45 years old, sustained a serious, but not life-threatening injury to his head. It's not clear if the victims were working on the elevated metalwork or on the stage level when the collapse occurred.

"RapFix Live" closed out 2011 by crowning Machine Gun Kelly our Hottest Breakthrough Mc of the year as voted by fans. It's officially over: after eight movies that spanned more than a decade, the "Harry Potter" film franchise is finally at an end. It's a bittersweet occasion for Potterheads everywhere, even right here at MTV News headquarters. Many of us are huge "Potter" fans ourselves (perhaps the Harry Potter World Cup tipped you off to that), and as such, we're taking today as an opportunity to say goodbye to this series we love so much.
Read the MTV News crew's thoughts on the end of "Potter" after the jump.
"As a longtime 'Harry Potter' nerd, I’m oddly not saddened by the end of the film franchise, and I’ve zeroed in on why: I think they got it as right as anyone was ever going to. On Wednesday (June 8), Ja Rule turned himself in to begin serving a two-year sentence on a gun charge stemming from his 2007 arrest in New York City. Although some rappers have endured a sentence as a mere bump in their careers (Lil Wayne, for instance), Ja Rule's bid arrives almost seven years since his last official album, R.U.L.E., and just as his Pain Is Love 2 has been delayed.
Ja had initially planned to deliver PIL2 the day before starting his jail term, but according to his longtime collaborator 7 Aurelius, Rule postponed the release after deciding it hadn't been completed to his satisfaction.

New photos from the set of her "We R Who We R" video, likely to be the first clip released from her November 22 sophomore album, Cannibal, have emerged online. For the video, the party moves to a downtown Los Angeles tunnel, which, under the direction of legendary director Hype Williams, comes complete with fiery flash-pots and explosions.
The new photos — different from the ones that hit the Internet earlier Tuesday (November 2) — show Ke$ha in a look reminiscent of Rihanna's post-apocalyptic getup in Jay-z's "Run This Town" video, with the pop star rocking ripped-up leggings and a one-piece bodysuit covered in shattered glass.

With the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards mere hours away, everyone here at MTV is working overtime in preparation to make this year's show the best and brightest ever.
Earlier this week, the white carpet crew (a team of about 55) started assembling the soon-to-be star-studded area, built to capture this year's theme, "Hollywood Mansion." Crew members pulled 16-hour shifts during the five days for the five days leading up to the show.
On Saturday, nearly 600 feet of white carpet were rolled out and promptly covered in plastic in order to prevent any unwanted sullying. Staging supervisor Aaron Chawla said he won't be removing it until the last possible minute before the Vma Pre-Show begins.
In the event of any unforeseen spills or stains, Chawla assured...

With only a few dozen hours to go until the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards get started in grand fashion, preparations at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles are coming together fast and furious. The stage — which is being whispered about in the sort of tones normally reserved for game-changing secrets — has been built, the white carpet construction continues, the performers are rehearsing and, best of all, the seat assignments have been doled out. As MTV News' Jim Cantiello explained earlier in the week, the seats inside the venue are arranged in a very specific pattern for maximum exposure and ease of access for the nominees, performers, presenters and their guests. MTV News' own Jonathan Goldner slipped inside the Nokia Theatre to sneak a peek at the seating arrangements, and he uncovered the coolest trifecta in the building.

50 Cent has backed away from the dance music sound he originally envisioned for his album Black Magic. Although Fif may not be putting a trance or deep-house spin on his gritty street records, Lloyd Banks says that the mercurial 50 doesn't dispose of his music — even if it's never released.
"[50's] mind runs all day. I go to sleep about 7 a.m. from being up writing all that time, and he's getting up at that time, thinkin'. He might come to my room three times [a] day like, 'I got this idea,' or 'I got that idea,' " Banks said while appearing on "RapFix Live" on Friday (August 13). "He changes up a lot. [The] material never goes anywhere though.

'Fans can expect The Hunger for More 2 on November 23,' Banks announces on 'RapFix Live.'

It wasn't LeBron James' "Decision," but Lloyd Banks had fun on "RapFix Live" relaying info about his new record deal.
"I decided to take my talents to Emi," the Queens rapper told MTV News' Sway, putting his twist on King James' spiel. "[Fans] can expect The Hunger for More 2 on November 23. On G-Unit/ Emi."
The announcement comes after a brief independent period for Banks.
Banks was signed Interscope Records after 50 Cent's ascent, joining Eminem and Dr. Dre on the roster and solidifying it as one of the most dynamic hip-hop entities in the music industry. But after a disappointing sophomore set, which included records leaking long before the release date, Banks parted ways with his recording home. He...

Find your favorite in 'Gym, Tanning, Laundry: The Official Jersey Shore Quote Book.'

Snooki
Photo: MTV News
Without a doubt, the most quotable member of the "Jersey Shore" cast is Snooki. Sorry, Sitch, you know it's true. She's got the pickles, she's got the duck phone and she's got the absolutely untouchable "I think my crotch is sticking out."
However, when we asked the lovely Miss Polizzi what her favorite one-liner from the first cycle of the smash hit show was, she surprised even us: "I think my favorite quote from last season would probably be when I was talking about being drunk and I was like, 'You know what? ... I'm not trashy. Unless I drink too much.' That's what drinking does to you. So this book that's coming out with all of our quotes from last season is gonna be the most dysfunctional,...

Everyone remembers those classic moments from season one of "Jersey Shore." Snooki getting punched and Pauly D taking the grenade will no doubt live on in our hearts forever. But there were actually a lot of life lessons hidden amidst the Gtl high jinks.
The best of those — Women really are a game. Thanks, Pauly! — are collected in "Gym, Tanning, Laundry: The Official Jersey Shore Quote Book," which hits bookstores Tuesday. In honor of this momentous occasion, MTV News asked some of our favorite visiting celebrities to get their Seaside on and deliver their best recitations of those famous "Js" Zen moments.

Review by Jonathan Goldner
I've been playing racing games since as far back as "'Pole Position" and "Out Run," and my tactic of choice is always the same: mash down the gas and let the rest sort itself out. In some games, this will actually work. But in others, like Capcom's new "MotoGP 09/10," my brute force approach just doesn't hold any gasoline. After all, the MotoGP series is all about making the most accurate motorcycle racing sim.
The Basics
You're an international grand prix motorcycle racer. Choose your nationality, name and colors, then hit the road. If there was a storyline beyond that, I missed it. The game format is fairly standard with practice, qualifying and race modes on each of 17 real-world race tracks. Successes on the asphalt translate into a reputation rating that subsequently unlocks more features & options.
The Highs
Follow That Line!
Perhaps in a nod to gas-mashers like me,...

We've all heard that Ashlee Simpson is headlining the CW's revamped "Melrose Place," but what everyone really wants to know is if prime time's ultimate bad girl, Heather Locklear, will be getting back in the Melrose pool anytime soon.
"That's the big question, but none of us know if she's going to come back or not," Simpson told MTV News about the new show, which premieres Tuesday. "I mean, of course everyone would love for her to come back, but we don't know. [It's] up in the air."
Even if the show's original drama queen doesn't return, Simpson promises plenty of new drama. "I had never watched the original 'Melrose Place,' " she revealed. "They had such a good vision for it,...

Today over on MTV.com, Larry Carroll has a report filed from the red carpet of the "Inglourious Basterds" premiere. He got to chat with the various cast members as they strolled by, and the one question he made sure to hit them all with was "which Quentin Tarantino character is your favorite?" The answers are all over the place, from Eli Roth's half-dozen or so choices to -- including Brad Pitt's "True Romance" stoner Floyd! -- to Brad Pitt's humble nod to his "Basterds" co-star Christopher Waltz, who plays "the Jew Hunter."
It's hard to narrow down a single favorite, but I have to go with Robert Forster's bail bondsman Max Cherry, from "Jackie Brown." By far Qt's most underrated effort, Forster's top-notch role is just one among many in the movie. Still, it's his character who sticks with me the most. As all of...

Welcome to the weekly Newsroom Poll, where we will give you a sneak peek into the lives and minds of some of the correspondents, writers, editors and producers here at MTVNews.com. Every week, they'll answer a poll question that will reveal some of what we talk about behind the scenes here in the newsroom. Enjoy!
This week, details surfaced about one of the most hotly anticipated albums of the fall. No, not Jay-z's The Blueprint 3 or Lil Wayne's Rebirth. We're talking about the soundtrack to "New Moon," which will likely feature contributions from Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Muse, Kings of Leon and Death Cab for Cutie. There was also the announcement of the soundtrack to "Jennifer's Body," the new Diablo Cody-penned horror film. With that, combined with the quarter-century anniversary of one of the finest film soundtracks ever constructed (that being Prince's Purple Rain), this week's question is:...

One of the recurring themes that came up during this week’s Michael Jackson memorial was the idea that the video for “Thriller” was such a huge event that it not only made people love Jackson but love music videos as an art form. Everybody who works here at MTV News had that moment at one time or another — the one where music videos suddenly became the greatest thing in the universe, even if for a short time. Which brings up this week’s poll question: What music video was the one that made you love music videos?...

The death of Michael Jackson has hit the MTV News staff pretty hard, and will continue to as we sort through the aftermath of last week’s shocking news. It’s been a crazy week for celebrity death, as Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, pitchman Billy Mays and actor Karl Malden have all passed away in the past week.
Dealing with death is always difficult, but the passing of a public person is surreal. How do you deal with the loss of somebody you only knew through a body of work? So we passed...

'I'm a big fan of talking babies and their humor,' Em says of his cartoon co-hosting gig on Sunday.
By Jonathan Goldner
Eminem
Photo: Universal
Eminem has been many things, from a world-famous, multiplatinum rapper to an Academy Award winner. He was once even animated into a series of cartoon shorts. Now, Eminem is taking his animated career even further, co-hosting Fox's "animation domination" programming block with none other than Stewie Griffin from "Family Guy."
"It was a thrill to work with Stewie," Eminem said in a press release. "I'm a big fan of talking babies and their humor."
The seemingly unlikely pair are teaming up to make a MySpace music announcement Sunday night (MySpace and Fox are owned by the same parent company, News Corporation). Perhaps it will be a surprise/secret MySpace concert, or maybe just Eminem thanking you for the friend add. Only time will tell.
