Martin Gooch was born in St. Albans, England.
Martin Gooch is the only two-time winner of BBC Best Director. He has directed six feature films, Including Argh and the Quest for the Golden Dragon Skull. He has a Master's Degree in screenwriting from The University of the Arts London and has written over 20 screenplays, many of which have been optioned and bought. He has director credits on over a dozen shows and feature-length productions across scripted drama and comedy on the major UK international television channels. He has also directed many award-winning shorts, commercials and promos. He worked for Disney/Marvel on an Ant-Man and the Wasp spin-off as a producer and Directed the feature-length live performance film Night of a Thousand Vampires by The Damned to went to number one in the UK Music Film charts.
His TV and interactive work has won a BAFTA and been nominated for an EMMY. He has won dozens of Best Director and Best Production awards at festivals worldwide and the prestigious World Fest Best Director and Bram Stoker Best director awards. He grew up in the UK and began his career in film and TV as a camera assistant and operator on major studio movies, including Harry Potter, James Bond - Goldeneye, Judge Dredd and The Muppets.
In 2018 Martin was a winner with the Trinity Challenge backed by ARRI Media and Directors UK and wrote and directed the one-shot short film A Midwinter Night's Dream, filmed all in one shot using the ARRI Trinity Stabilisation system.
