It looks like Zac isn't coming back to The CW for a second season -- or even the rest of his show's first. The smallest broadcast network has dropped Down to Earth with Zac Efron show after just two airings.

There’s a change in Tuesday primetime programming on The CW. The network has pulled travelogue series Down To Earth with Zac Efron and Fantastic Friends after just two episodes. Both series premiered on July 18. Remaining episodes will be available on the CW app and cwtv.com.
The CW will air reruns of Penn & Teller: Fool Us (8-9 pm) and Whose Line Is It Anyway? (9-10 pm) in their place.
Down To Earth and Fantastic Friends are the latest acquired series to be pulled from the CW schedule, following the Australian surfing drama Barons, which was pulled after four episodes in June.
Down To Earth with Zac Efron, acquired from Netflix, experienced a 24% drop in viewers from the first episode to episode 2, and Fantastic Friends had low viewership from the start, dropping from 161K viewers in episode 1 to 158K in episode 2. Seasons 1 and 2 of Down To Earth are still streaming on Netflix.

The CW is making some last-minute changes to its schedule, which means we have some renew/cancel news.
The network has immediately pulled Down to Earth With Zac Efron and Fantastic Friends from their Tuesday slots.
News of the shows being yanked from the schedule is not entirely surprising:
Down to Earth With Zac Efron touched down on the network's summer slate with just over 300,000 viewers.
A week later, the numbers were down to 232,000 viewers.
Fantastic Friends started with 161,000 viewers and dipped slightly to 158,000 in week two.
While the numbers are not terrible (by CW summer standards), they are notably lower than what The Chosen, Nancy Drew, and Son of a Critch have been doing on the schedule this summer.
The swift cancellations come weeks after the network pulled the Australian drama series Barons from its schedule.
Down to Earth With Zac Efron previously aired on Netflix as an original series,...

The buzz was good for new Netflix show Down to Earth with Zac Efron, in which Efron travels through scenic locations around the world with “superfood hunter” Darin Olien. Together, the pair explore healthy and sustainable ways of living, although judging by the promotional pictures, they focused primarily on ones that would allow Efron to be shirtless for as long as possible.
The show premiered on Netflix today and reactions on Twitter have been extremely positive, though admittedly, many of them seem to be drooling over Efron’s body rather than learning about sustainable living.

Zac Efron’s new show, descriptively titled Down to Earth with Zac Efron, will arrive on Netflix come July 10th. The miniseries has been hotly-anticipated by the actor’s massive fanbase and here’s what to expect from it.
Starring Efron alongside wellness expert Darin Olien, Down to Earth will see the Baywatch star travel around the world on a quest to find healthy, sustainable ways of life. The premise is, to some extent, similar to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Before the Flood. An ecological documentary released in 2016, that one saw the Hollywood darling explore the ramifications of global warming.
For his own show, Efron has chosen a more personal approach. Rather than narrating the fate of all mankind, he is simply looking for ways in which he, and other individuals like him, can spend their days on Earth responsibly and usefully. What to expect from the show, other than life advice though,...

Like many of you, I’ve been stuck at home for months. The furthest I’ve travelled is a few miles from my house, and I’m getting real tired of the same old scenery. As such, I’m incredibly jealous of Zac Efron, whose new Netflix show Down to Earth sees him happily gallivanting around several exotic locations. He’s joined by “superfood hunter,” supplement formulator and environmental activist Darin Olien, and the pair will showcase their explorations of healthy and sustainable ways of living, inspired by various communities from across the planet.
Now, Netflix has released some pictures from the show and in them we see Efron looking at some bees, rolling dough, having smoke blown on him and happily frolicking in the sea – and I’ll admit, he looks good doing all of it.
