- My ultimate goal is to direct a film that both Passolini and Cronenberg would be proud of. This task only will probably consume my entire filmography.
- I wish I know how to do something else, but making films is the only thing in life I'm suited for. Actually, I shouldn't say that because I love making films - but everyone is good at something; I'm just lucky I'm good at something so many people are enamored with. The power to entertain is awesome - I've always loved making people laugh, cry, become angry - it is an awesome power, and responsibility (to quote a great film). Every day, I wake up and thank God that this is what I get to do. I am truly blessed. - From an interview in The Saramento Bee, December 2003
- Every day I wake up, and I'm angry, sad, depressed, in pain, or despondent, I thank God I have my art to fall back on. Pain keeps me alive and art keeps me nourished. I love this job.
- [on being on live TV] Nerve-wracking. I was so self conscious, I could barely answer questions. It didn't help that the talk show host was insanely beautiful and distracting. My mom said I looked good, though, so what are you gonna do?
- I'm a romantic comedy fan. I love horror. I love the dramatic. But really, if I get the chance to do a romantic comedy, I'm jumping at it!
