SEOUL -- CJ Entertainment has hired David Shin as its new head of international business and strategy, sources said. He'll take up the new post Jan. 2.
Shin's portfolio also will include international sales and co-productions, areas not under his predecessor.
Shin most recently worked as senior vp of commercial development at ESPN STAR Sports in Singapore. He has worked internationally in the entertainment industry for more than 14 years, including Asia Star's Group, DIRECTV in Japan and PolyGram Film Entertainment.
Shin replaces former executive vp, chief financial officer and head of international Mark Shaw, who left Dec. 15 for a financial position at a start-up investment fund based in Connecticut.
