Genuine emotion could be felt when Jason Jordan and his partner Chad Gable won the Nxt tag team championship at Nxt TakeOver: Dallas. After fighting and clawing up the rankings of WWE’s developmental brand the duo, known as American Alpha, finally struck gold WrestleMania week. Jordan can recall him and Gable, along with their opponents, The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder), going into the match with high expectations for themselves. “We feel like we are rejuvenating the tag team division,” he said, days away from American Alpha’s title rematch against The Revival at Nxt TakeOver: The End 8 p.m. … Continue reading →

Ever since its founding in 2010, Evolve has been one of the premier independent wrestling organizations in the country. Founded and run by former Ring of Honor booker Gabe Sapolsky, the company quickly built its reputation on delivering top-level in-ring action and putting emphasis on wins and losses. Evolve has thrived for the past six years, but in 2015 it reached a new high – the company began working in tandem with WWE.
Though the full relationship between Evolve and WWE is unknown to outside parties, the cooperation has already borne fruit for both sides. WWE has sent Nxt talents Sami Zayn, Chad Gable, and Jason Jordan to Evolve shows to make appearances, boosting the independent promotion’s ticket sales. Likewise, Evolve has allowed talent to compete on Nxt shows, and in one case, has even given a fledgling talent work and experience at WWE’s request.

WWE held four weeks worth of television tapings on Friday evening at the Cfe Arena in Orlando, Florida. With the third biggest WWE PPV event of the year (Royal Rumble) in town on Sunday evening at the Amway Center, WWE looked to capitalize on the hype by taking their red-hot developmental brand down the road from Full Sail University to an arena that holds just under 10,000 people. This was by far the biggest event Nxt has ever held in the state of Florida.
Nxt held television tapings two weeks ago at Full Sail, so they already have several weeks of TV ready to go. Friday evening’s tapings at Cfe Arena are set to air in February in early March.
Here are the full results:
Dark Match:
Manny Andrade (La Sombra) defeated Rich Swann

WWE Nxt TakeOver: London took place on Wednesday evening and was an incredibly successful show, inside the ring and out. Featuring five matches in front of one of the largest crowds the brand has drawn, the show closed with an outstanding match between Nxt Champion Finn Balor and Samoa Joe.
Prior to TakeOver, WWE rolled their cameras to tape matches for next week’s episode of WWE Nxt on the WWE Network. The show was highlighted by the television return to the ring of Sami Zayn (he’s been working house shows on the U.K. tour).

Two fans tried to get into the ring during Nxt’s live show in Sheffield, England on Saturday night.
The invaders attempted the jump the barricade during the Nxt Tag Team Championship match between Jason Jordan and Chad Gable and champions Dash and Dawson. One fan was successful in doing so but Nxt Producer Ryan Katz grabbed him before security intervened.
The fan who made it over the railing was immediately thrown out to the utter joy of all those in attendance.

WWE 2015 has been a fascinating year on every level. However, in five years, it will be 2020, which given the number of fresh concepts WWE is pushing at present, feels like a solid point to stop and really see just how far along the company is with its progressive vision for sports entertainment. For WWE, while 2015 looks like something wild and largely unknown on every level, 2020 could *truly* be the start of one of WWE’s finest creative and corporate eras ever.
The company is currently sitting on most of the pieces that will define their excellence in the future. Between Nxt and the main roster’s midcard, there’s future main eventers and hall of famers everywhere. Also, by 2020, we may have some established top-tier performers ready to call it quits, and midcarders now more assured of their talents and ready to roll towards becoming legendary WWE performers.

As you can tell from the title of this article, it was a stellar week for Nxt. WWE’s third brand has already become the most reliable source for women’s wrestling, well-built stories and Network Specials, but it now appears that you can add tag team wrestling right to the top of that list.
Three separate teams got the Nxt audience buzzing last night; Dash & Dawson near-crippled Colin Cassady on their quest to become Nxt Tag Team Champions, and Gable & Jordan and Ciampa & Gargano absolutely electrified Full Sail University with a match that, when you exclude PPVs and TakeOvers, could genuinely rank as one of the best matches of the whole year.
It was a great night of wrestling across the board. Angles were furthered, characters cemented themselves and Tyler Breeze possibly wrestled his last match on Nxt television. So long Tyler, and thanks for all the closeups.

After witnessing the Iron Woman main event match to last night’s WWE Nxt TakeOver: Respect, the Iwc has only question:
“Who’s been cutting all these damn onions?”
With the theme of respect resounding throughout the night, both in tribute to the late, great American Dream, and in relation to the public elevation of women’s wrestling as a blockbuster draw in today’s industry, emotions were running high at Full Sail, with many and manly and womanly tear shed. The storytelling was simply on fire.
It was a wall-to-wall fantastic night of wrestling too, as fans have come to expect from Nxt specials, the 2-and-a-bit running time speeding past like a freight train. Hardened critics will be able to find some grumbles with the night – hybrid teams of solo stars like Rhyno & Corbin overcoming established teams like Gable & Jordan is a little hard to swallow – but...

Chad Gable’s chances of making it in WWE are likely to be hampered by his size, reports F4WOnline.
They say that WWE management have concerns that at 5’8″, he’s too small to be a main event superstar.
Gable’s role in Nxt right now is as the tag team partner of Jason Jordan. It started out with Jordan not wanting to team with him, but after Jordan was unsuccessful with other partners that weren’t very good, he reluctantly agreed to team with Gable and they won a lot of matches together. They are a good fit since they are both successful former amateur wrestlers.
They were booked originally as cocky heels that were successful amateur wrestlers, but the fans like Gable’s cocky attitude. The duo might win the Dusty Rhodes Nxt Tag Team Classic Tournament with the crowds getting behind them.

It was a big night of tag team wrestling on this week’s Nxt broadcast as they left Brooklyn and went back to airing shows taped at Full Sail University in Orlando.
A big theme of this week’s show is that they started the first annual Dusty Rhodes Nxt Tag Team Classic Tournament. It’s a tournament that features 16 tag teams for a total of 32 wrestlers, which means they had to call on some main roster performers to be a part of it. That’s why this week’s show saw the likes of The Ascension and Neville returning to Nxt to be a part of the festivities.
It’s great to see quality indy wrestlers like Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa on the show this week in a backstage segment. They’re in action next week. Adding more talent like them is a wonderful thing for the Nxt brand.

This week’s Nxt broadcast was longer than normal and it included matches that were taped prior to Saturday’s excellent Takeover Brooklyn event. The taping started at about 7:45pmET and lasted about an hour with the four matches that aired on this week’s Nxt show.
Taping the show in Brooklyn gave Nxt a much bigger feel than usual. While the Full Sail crowd in Orlando is usually loud all night long, they are only about 500 people and it is nothing compared to having over 13,000 fans like they had in Brooklyn.
While the show was pretty good like most Nxt episodes are, they probably could have put on better matches and more significant ones as well. There was nothing on this show that felt like that big of a deal whereas most weeks they find a way to build up at least one match or major story.

WWE taped three episodes of Nxt on Thursday night at Full Sail University in Orlando. The first episode will air next Wednesday as the final show before the August 22 Nxt Takeover Brooklyn event. The plan is to tape at least one week worth of content at that event as well.
The three episodes taped on Wednesday are presumably for August 19, August 26 and September 2. They could push one of them back and insert the Brooklyn taping into it. Here are the results.
First episode
* There was a contract signing between Sasha Banks and Bayley for the Nxt Women’s Title hosted by William Regal. Bayley said it’s her time while Banks said that Bayley isn’t worth her time. Sasha goes to leave, but Bayley went after her and they had a brawl.

With three, count ’em, three tag matches on last night’s card, the Nxt tag division took a minor victory lap last night, quietly demonstrating the power of distinct gimmicks, surprise booking and effective ringwork. Last night the division looked flush with talent, culminating in a tag title match that served as a star-making bout for The Vaudevillains.
Despite taping a month of shows on one night, Nxt have proven themselves supremely capable of subtly programming weekly television in order to give equal rotation to each of its championships. For three weeks in a row each episode has been main-evented by a different title; two weeks ago Sasha Banks and Charlotte closed the show in grand fashion with a instant-classic match for the Women’s Championship, last week the main event was a contract signing for the Nxt Championship, and this week the show went to black after...

By the time Monday Night Raw went off the air, the talking-point of the evening was not Wyatt vs Reigns or Cena vs Owens, it wasn’t even Lesnar vs Rollins. Earlier this week the Divas Division grabbed the fans’ attention with both hands and wrenched it back, torquing the spine and screaming We Are Here. Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks finally debuted on the main roster to huge acclaim.
And their momentum hasn’t stopped there. Lynch may be temporarily on the bench with a hip flexor sprain, but last night Charlotte and Sasha Banks solidified their status as bonafide division revolutionaries by tearing the house down with a magnificent main event contest for the Nxt Women’s Championship.
All in all, it was a solid showing from Nxt. The tag champs were in action, as was Samoa Joe, and the tag division saw the emergence of an exciting new pairing,...

Welcome, one and all, to this weeks’ results and review write up on Nxt, WWE’s developmental system, on show for the World to see.
We begin the show with the entertaining duo of Enzo and Cassady cutting a promo on their way to the ring. They talk about “The Legionnaires” group. Fun promo that ends with the “sawft” line. Renee Young is on commentary again tonight, which is great, because she’s very, very good. Their opponents tonight are Rusev and Sylvester Lefort who makes his in-ring debut for Nxt tonight. He looks the part and he’s strong on the stick, but what will he be like between the ropes? Big Cass and Rusev begin, and Rusev is in control with impactful offence, for which the big guy is becoming known for. Enzo gets knocked down by Rusev, and then all of a sudden he attacks Lefort, destroying all three men,...

As reported a few weeks ago, Nxt has recently undergone a full overhaul and here we have its first episode review…
The cameras pan around the small gym hall, just a few hundred fans if that, occupy the hall. The previous Nxt’s yellow is still prominent throughout although there are obvious changes to its logo, stage layout and ring covers.
Jim Ross comes out and thanks the fans for attending, welcoming us all to the new beginning of Nxt. Whilst onstage he introduces the new Interim General Manager: None other than the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes.
Rhodes first port of call is to schedule the main event in which he declares that Tyson Kidd will take on the Michael Mcgullicutty. He also states that if we think the last few years of Nxt has been wild, we’ve not seen nothing yet.
A video package for Bo Dallas airs...
