Michael B. Jordan is aware of the fact that audiences will leave “A Journal for Jordan” talking about his booty.
There are a number of intimate and heartfelt moments in the Columbia Pictures romantic drama directed by Denzel Washington, which tells the true story of the late 1st Sgt. Charles Monroe King (Jordan) and his love, journalist-turned-publisher Dana Canedy (Chanté Adams). But in one particular love scene, the camera captures Jordan in the buff, with the frame just wide enough to show the actor’s butt.
It’s a brief (or lack thereof) moment, but if a woman’s ear-piercing scream in this reporter’s screening of the movie is any indication, there’s no way audiences will miss it.
When Variety asked the award-winning actor what reaction he expected when he first learned of the scene, Jordan chuckled as he searched for the appropriate words.

Denzel Washington has two war films opening for Christmas — one written by a certain Will Shakespeare about a fellow named Macbeth in which Washington plays the title role, and another which he directed only. The latter, A Journal for Jordan, is Washington’s fourth outing behind the camera and is as sincere and unquestioningly patriotic as anything made during the 1940s.
In this sense, it’s an odd and oddly timed film, one that emerges at a moment when the world is far more preoccupied by the danger of a global pandemic than by a misguided war — the one in Iraq — that most Americans would just as soon forget, if, indeed, they haven’t already. The chemistry between stars Michael B. Jordan, playing a very hunky straight arrow, and his vibrant co-star Chantá Adams sets things percolating from time to time, but this is a film that asks no questions...

Amblin Television and HBO Max have entered a development deal to create a television series inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s “Rashomon.”
The untitled series will not be an adaptation of the original Japanese-language film, which premiered in 1950, but will retain its key plot points and narrative technique — a drama centering around a grisly sexual assault and murder, and the unraveling mystery seen through multiple characters’ competing eyes — to explore the themes of truth and subjective point-of-view, in a modern setting.
Each episode of the series will focus on the perceived truth of a specific character as they tell the events of the murder from their unique, self-serving perspective. Casting, an episode count, and a release date are unknown.
The series will be written by Oscar nominees Billy Ray (“Captain Phillips”) and Virgil Williams (“Mudbound”). Amblin Partners’ co-presidents of television Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey will executive-produce alongside with Mark Canton,...

Life goes on this summer for Academy internships, in a virtual way. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is plowing forward with the fourth year of Academy Gold, its entertainment industry internship enhancement and mentorship program for students and young professionals from underrepresented communities. During the summer, as the pandemic continues, the program will be virtual, with an extension program in the fall for those students who delayed their summer internships.
“In the face of a pandemic and our continued efforts to drive equity in our industry, the decision on whether or not to proceed with the Academy Gold program this summer was very clear,” said Academy COO Christine Simmons. “Our pipeline program is even more critical at a time when underrepresented communities are being disproportionately affected by Covid-19. The needs are heightened, and we are dedicated to delivering an educational, fun and rewarding virtual experience for these...

Denzel Washington is in talks to star in the John Lee Hancock-written thriller Little Things at Warner Bros, Deadline has confirmed.
The Oscar-winning actor will step into the role of Deke, a burned out Kern County sheriff who teams with La County Sheriff’s Department detective, Baxter, to reel in a wily serial killer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” (hence the title of the movie) proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. All the while, Deke wrestles with a dark secret from his past. Hancock, who directed The Blindside and Highway Men, is circling the directing chair at Little Things.
Washington recently starred in The Equalizer 2 and is set to direct Journal for Jordan, Sony Pictures’ upcoming adaptation of Pulitzer-winning journalist Dana Cadendy’s bestselling memoir. Oscar-nominated Mudbound scribe Virgil Williams wrote the script while Michael B. Jordan...

Michael B. Jordan is joining another film project. This guy is working like a mad man in Hollywood, he’s been jumping on board so many films in development! This new film project of his is called Journal For Jordan. It’s set up at Sony Pictures and Denzel Washington is directing it.
The movie was written by Virgil Williams (Mudbound) and this story is based on the true story of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Dana Canedy’s love affair with First Sergeant Charles Monroe King. “King kept a journal full of poignant life lessons for their newborn son, Jordan, while deployed overseas. He was killed in Iraq in 2006 when Jordan was just seven months old, but his spirit lives on in his messages of love to Dana and Jordan.”
This sounds like it’s going to be a pretty heavy, powerful, and emotional film. This will be a good...

Michael B. Jordan will star in Denzel Washington’s dramatic directorial effort, titled Journal for Jordan.
Michael B. Jordan has banked his share of blockbuster franchises, be it with a memorable villain turn in Marvel’s Black Panther, or the hit Rocky-spun-off Creed films, with even more intriguing projects on his docket. However, the actor just signed up to headline a drama, titled Journal for Jordan (no relation), directed by Denzel Washington, that serves as a heartfelt memoir to the sacrifices of our armed forces with a tragically broken bond between a father and son.
Sony Pictures is in talks with Jordan to star in Journal for Jordan, as reported by trades like Variety. The film will see Denzel Washington flex his sporadically-utilized directorial muscles for the film, working off a screenplay by Virgil Williams based off Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dana Canedy’s 2008 non-fiction book, A...
