Kobe Bryant was a basketball legend and known far and wide. But yes, sometimes his attitude is something else. That unbothered vibe of his? It can be a killer. One memorable incident involving a basketball player occurred during a game.

Bon Jovi have announced a new album, Forever, out June 7th via Island Records. As a preview, the band has unveiled the video for its lead single, “Legendary.”
The pop-country-tinged track is anthemic and positive, fueled by major chords, “whoa-oh” choruses, and Jon Bon Jovi’s charismatic presence. The singer has battled vocal issues in recent years, but his voice sounds clean on the verses as backing vocals by the rest of the band supplement the song’s chorus.
“This record is a return to joy,” said Jon Bon Jovi via a press release. “From the writing, through the recording process, this is turn up the volume, feel good Bon Jovi.”
Bon Jovi are celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band this year. In addition to the new album, a career-spanning Hulu docuseries, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, is set to premiere on April 26th.

They put erasers on pencils for a reason. With statues, it’s a little more complicated.
The Los Angeles Lakers said Monday that spelling errors on the Kobe Bryant statue unveiled last month outside the team’s arena will be corrected. No time frame was revealed for the changes.
German journalist André Voigt published his finds Sunday on X. They include spelling Toronto guard José Calderón as “Jose Calderson” and spelling former Laker Von Wafer as “Vom Wafer,” according to NBC Los Angeles.
The word “decision” is set in bronze as “decicion,” the station said.
The statue features Bryant’s index finger held aloft after his 81-point game in the Lakers’ 122-104 win against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 22, 2006. That total was second only to the 100 points Wilt Chamberlain scored in a 1962 NBA game.
The 19-foot statue of Bryant features the Toronto game’s scorecard.

Last Thursday, after a sweet ceremony, the late great Kobe Bean Bryant was honored with a statue outside of Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Jon Bon Jovi is a rare hairband frontman who has been able to extend his hit music career beyond the 80s metal rock era. He crossed over as a solo artist, but his band, Bon Jovi, remains one of the most beloved in the rock genre with hits such as “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “You Give Love a Bad Name” (which was played all over the trailer to Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s ode to stuntmen in David Leitch‘s The Fall Guy). Hulu has now released the trailer for the upcoming documentary for the story of the band told from their own personal perspectives. The Hulu doc, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story teases their famous frontman preparing audiences by saying, “I’ve got a story to tell.”

Vanessa Bryant, the late NBA star Kobe Bryant’s widow, has been criticized for not doing more for the black community. After Kobe’s death, she inherited his wealth, which included a $600 million estate.
During his career, Kobe made millions from his time at the NBA, where he played as a shooting guard and won five NBA rings.
He also made millions through partnerships. Kobe became a brand ambassador for Nike and was among the first stars to sign a shoe deal before he retired in April 2016.
On January 26, 2020, Kobe, along with their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant, and seven others, died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. A jury later awarded Vanessa damages after police leaked photos of the crash site.
When he died, Nike decided to relaunch several of their signature lines made famous by Kobe. The brand made a promotional video discussing Kobe’s personality and dedication to the game.

One of the toughest times in Novak Djokovic's career was his infamous elbow injury and one late friend helped him during that time.
As one of the best athletes in recent memory, Novak Djokovic connected with many fellow athletes to share experiences and learn something new. He's often discussed some of his sports friendships, including Tom Brady and the late Kobe Bryant.
Bryant is one of the best basketball players ever, and he was notorious for his dedication to his craft. It's something Djokovic could relate to very well, and they talked often about how to get an edge on their competition.
Unlike Djokovic, who mostly avoided injuries successfully, Bryant dealt with a few and had plenty of experience in dealing with it.
He used that to help Djokovic during the darkest time in his career when his elbow bothered him. It was back in 2017, and it's when Bryant...

I settle into the seat, check my controls, and lift off.
The aircraft lifts off, not takes off. It’s like a helicopter at first, as the propellers start to spin. Growing up, Kris Bowers felt like he was an outsider trying to fit in.
These days, he is anything but that in Hollywood. The Oscar-nominated composer has scored a wide array of projects in the past five years, ranging from “Green Book” to “When They See Us,” and worked with Ava DuVernay and Shonda Rhimes repeatedly. This year alone, the Daytime Emmy winner’s credits include “Origin” and “The Color Purple” in addition to “Chevalier,” “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” and “Haunted Mansion.”
It was during his middle school years — “a troubling time emotionally,” Bowers says — that he discovered how to channel his feelings through music. The L.A. native, who learned to play the piano at age 4 before expanding his training in classical and jazz, found himself gravitating back to the keyboard once puberty hit.

After nearly 30 years, HBO is preparing to hang Bryant Gumbel’s jersey from the rafters. The onetime co-host of Today has fronted Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel since April 1995, making the newsmagazine HBO’s longest-running series. Across 29 seasons and more than 300 episodes, Gumbel has broken some of the biggest stories in sports: exposing a child slavery ring, investigating the International Olympic Committee and revealing that Shaquille O’Neal made more money per year from endorsements than from the NBA. “Since Day 1 at Real Sports, we’ve consistently tried to look beyond the scoreboard and focus instead on the many societal issues inherent in the world of sports,” Gumbel says. “We’ve had the opportunity to tell complex stories about race, gender, class, opportunity, and so much more. Being able to do so at HBO for almost three decades has been very gratifying.” Kobe Bryant special on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel...

On Oct. 28, TMZ was first to report Matthew Perry’s drowning death. The media outlet, which over the past two decades has become a byword for hard-edged celebrity coverage, cited law enforcement sources and ran a redacted audio clip it’d obtained of a dispatcher communicating with emergency personnel before running photos of the actor’s stricken parents arriving at his home.
The site has been renowned and reviled for such lightning scoops. Its casualties include Todd Fisher, who has uniquely experienced its force as a merciless reaper. TMZ broke the news of the death of his sister Carrie. Then, the next day, it was first to report that his mother, Debbie Reynolds, had been transported from his home, where she’d been discussing funeral plans for Carrie, to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center because of a possible stroke. (TMZ had audio of the dispatch call.) She soon died there. “They have...

Taylor Swift’s concert documentary “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” was as brilliant in the theater as it was to witness from the nosebleeds of SoFi Stadium. I won’t say it was better because the collective effervescence of a concert cannot be created without an arena setting and thousands of screaming Swifties, but the film transported me.
The only expectations that weren’t met (because the unexpected is almost always expected from Swift) were those that imply she may hint at the next re-record — rumored to be “Reputation,” which came out originally in 2017 — or anything of that nature.
With the grand entrance Swift makes at the start of the concert memorialized on film in high definition, the “Eras” tour became cemented in history and popular culture. Her choice to start with the “Lover” era, specifically with “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” (after which her first documentary on Netflix was...

Nicole Kidman tells AMC audiences before every showing about “sound I can feel” and how “heartbreak feels good in a place like this.” She could just as easily have been talking about watching “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.” The near three-hour presentation of Swift’s final U.S. tour dates, filmed in Los Angeles at Sofi Stadium, is a bombastic celebration of not only Swift’s musical catalog, but friendship, joy and color that benefits from being on the biggest screen possible.
Whether you were at the concert or seeing it for the first time, Swift put on a show that dazzles, amazes and enchants. Swift plays nearly all the songs included in the Los Angeles shows, minus a few here and there. Hits like “Shake It Off” and “Cruel Summer” are present and accounted for, but it’s wonderful to get to see how Swift plays with her audience...

Aaron Rodgers’ debut with the New York Jets lasted all of four snaps, but the veteran quarterback vows to return to the field next year.
The future Hall of Famer, who turns 40 in December, tore his Achilles tendon early in Sunday’s eventual Jets victory over the rival Buffalo Bills, costing the longtime Green Bay Packers veteran his 2023 season. He broke his silence with a social media post today, thanking “every person that has reached out” and noting: “The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again.”
“Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, Dm’d, connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon,” Rodgers posted. “I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love.

Novak Djokovic looks for inspiration anywhere he can, and fellow legendary athletes are certainly not a bad idea.
There is a great deal of respect between great athletes and as one Djokovic has the respect of many of his colleagues. He's widely respected by athletes outside of tennis as well as connecting with many of them and sharing experiences.
Kobe Bryant is one of those, and he paid tribute to him by winning his 24th Grand Slam as the late legendary player wore the number 24. He's also connected with Tom Brady, widely considered the best American Football player of all time.
All of that is with the goal of better understanding the minds of fellow champions and getting some tips to remain on top. It's been working really well as he's currently the number one player in the world , taking it away from Carlos Alcaraz.

Like many players, Djokovic generally celebrates winning trophies and matches on the Atp Tour. There is always something, whether it's jumping out of joy or falling to the ground, but this time, we saw nothing. Djokovic was calm and collected even though emotions came a bit later.
Speaking after the win over Daniil Medvedev , Djokovic explained what went through his mind when the Russian hit a forehand into the net. The prevalent emotion was relief, and he also wanted to show respect to his opponent.

Novak Djokovic and Kobe Bryant were very good friends, and the 24-time Grand Slam champion paid him a tribute not once, but multiple times.

Coco Gauff used Kobe Bryant's famous 'job is not done' line after her win over Karolina Muchova at the 2023 US Open and expanded more on that after the match.
Coco Gauff extended her winning streak by beating Karolina Muchova for the second time in three weeks. She's now up to 11 wins in a row, with a chance to win her first Grand Slam trophy on Saturday. Gauff stood in a Grand Slam final in the past, but this one is rather different.
She's playing on home soil, backed by thousands of her fans, though it won't be easy as she's facing a Grand Slam champion in Aryna Sabalenka . She called on them to support her on Saturday while using the famous 'Job is not done' line Kobe Bryant famously said. She hasn't won anything yet, and finals are not what she plays for.

Shaquille O’Neal is determined to get his body back to championship-caliber level. And when he gets there, the Hall of Famer will party like it’s 2006.
Speaking to Et’s Nichelle Turner, the Los Angeles Lakers legend shares he’s lost a whopping 55 pounds. When the 51-year-old stepped on the scale the other day, he said he came in at 351 pounds. The four-time NBA champion has accomplished quite the feat, but the job’s not done.
Before sharing where he wants to get, Shaq first travels down memory lane. He says he weighed 345 pounds when he won his first NBA championship with the Lakers in 2000. He came in at 375 pounds the following year when the Lakers captured their second consecutive NBA title, and he was 395 pounds when he and the late Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to their third straight NBA title in 2002. After he was traded to the Miami Heat...
