The Accursed opens with a text crawling across the screen telling us about groups of Croatian women who banded together into groups or Sisterhoods, of three to harness the elements. And how all of them moved to the USA and prospered, except for one such trio. I’m sure you can guess who this film is about. And probably how it all ends up for that matter.

Little Hands is the first Australian film to be shot entirely in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
An intimate short story exploring the complexity of identity, loss, and the importance of human connection, Little Hands follows young tourist Mia (Dinka Bonelle Dzubur), who arrives in the post-war city of Mostar looking for her only remaining family, her little sister Sofia (Manon Bennett).
Dzubur is more than an actress . she is also the writer and executive producer of Little Hands. It was after feeling .dishearted. and .uninspired. by her acting roles in Australia . landing mainstream roles on Australian screens is particularly difficult for actors with diverse backgrounds . that she was prompted to create her own work.
.The more I stepped into the world of international cinema, I realised we were all feasting from this cultural trail mix in which there are not many stories of strong, powerful, sexy women because there are not many female writer/directors.

Yet another clip from Brad Bird’s “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”, featuring Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner chasing trains at night. Hey, it’s all part of the job of a super duper globe-hoppin’ secret agent. Plus, it’s probably kinda fun, too, I bet. Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, Imf operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates “Ghost Protocol”. Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency’s name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow Imf fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know. Also starring Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Samuli Edelmann, Ivan Shvedoff, Anil Kapoor, Léa Seydoux, Josh Holloway, and Miraj Grbic. It’s all aboard December 21, 2011. It’s not fun being Tom Cruise’s superspy Ethan Hunt. For one, you get all the tough jobs. Such as climbing a big ass tower in the middle of nowhere. I mean, damn, just looking at the last few seconds of this extended clip from director Brad Bird’s “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” gives me all kinds of fears of height. ★★★★☆ As If I Am Not There (2010), the second feature from Irish writer-director Juanita Wilson and starring Stellan Skarsgård, Miraj Grbic and Natasa Petrovic, opens on a young woman tearfully looking at her unwanted newborn baby, before taking a shower as blood trickles into the drain. Of all the films based around the conflict in Bosnia, few have focused solely on the plight of ethnically cleansed civilians, and none are likely to be as relentlessly sombre in tone. Yet as uncomfortable as it is to watch, it's also extremely powerful and engaging.
