Nope, that’s not Chappell Roan‘s real name.
The 26-year-old singer has been a rising star over the past couple years and she’s gaining huge momentum in 2024 thanks to her opening set on Olivia Rodrigo‘s Guts Tour and her appearance at Coachella.

On TikTok, a fan of Chappell Roan’s shared a video of the singer performing “Pink Pony Club” in 2021 at a Los Angeles fundraiser. Roan is by herself, playing the keyboard in front of small audience and not as glammed up as she is nowadays on stage.
Roan’s rapidly growing fanbase has been stitching this video with their own footage of the 26-year-old playing the song three years later, this time either while opening for friend Olivia Rodrigo in arenas or for one of her own sold out headlining shows.

Chappell Roan, fresh off her Harvard Med School lecture (about which we still know tantalizingly little), bid farewell to Olivia Rodrigo and the Guts tour with her final show as an opener on Tuesday night, April 2.
After her own set at Boston’s Td Garden, Roan snuck into the front row of the Ga section to watch Rodrigo and prep herself for a surprise cameo. As Rodrigo finished up her end of the show, she hopped down to greet fans at the barricade, only for Roan to pop up and give her a hug.

Snow white makeup, pink prom dress, lipstick-stained teeth, blue eye shadow, and a messy, massive orange wig. That’s a drag queen for you!

On a November evening in 2019, Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese and about a dozen members of his production team for Killers of the Flower Moon settled into folding chairs in a wood-paneled community hall in the Osage Nation in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
They had flown more than 1,300 miles after members of the tribe’s Grayhorse community wrote to Scorsese to express their concerns that he would be the next in a long line of white Hollywood filmmakers to distort Indigenous history on the big screen.

Chappell Roan was getting ready to perform in London this summer when one of the drag queens she’d picked to open her show told her: “You’re a drag queen. Director Martin Scorsese has made some truly brilliant art out of the dark corners of human history, from "Gangs of New York" to "Silence," but "Killers of the Flower Moon" looks like it might be his historical magnum opus. The film, which debuts at Cannes this week and will hit theaters nationwide in October, is based on the non-fiction book "Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI" by David Grann, and it tells the story of the murders of dozens of indigenous people in Osage County, Oklahoma in the 1910s, '20s, and '30s.
The actual number of murders is still unconfirmed, because there was a cover-up and some murders might have been reported as "accidental" deaths, but "Killers of the Flower Moon" focuses on the murders of the family members of Mollie Burkhart (played by Lily Gladstone). When Mollie and her...

Poised for a breakout 2023, Chappell Roan kicked off her first headlining tour across North America earlier this month and shares the much anticipated new video for her single, ‘Casual’. The video for the early hit, which landed on ‘Best of 2022’ lists in Rolling Stone, Billboard, LA Times, Glamour and more, was directed by Hadley Hillel and puts a cinematic twist on the heroine’s narrative with Chappell falling for the most unexpected love interest.
“The video is a representation of how I dream of a serious relationship with someone in my head, but in reality it may be far from that. Even though it may not feel like it, if there are no labels, it’s just casual,” Chappell reflects on the video for ‘Casual’.

The fallout of starring in Basic Instinct stretched beyond star Sharon Stone’s career and into her personal life, the actress says.
In a new interview for iHeartRadio’s Table for Two podcast released on Monday, the Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning performer says that her brief nude scene in Paul Verhoeven’s 1992 film, which also starred Michael Douglas, was used against her in court by the judge determining custody of her adopted son, Roan.
“When the judge asked my child — my tiny little boy, ‘Do you know your mother makes sex movies?’ Like, this kind of abuse by the system — that I was considered what kind of parent I was because I made that movie,” Stone recalled.
As a result, she “lost custody of my child” for a shot, which she wrote in her memoir The Beauty of Living Twice, had been added to the film by Verhoeven without her full knowledge or consent.

Sharon Stone is speaking out on how erotic thriller “Basic Instinct” impacted her son’s life.
The Oscar nominee alleged that starring in the 1992 film led to her losing out on a custody agreement with ex-husband Phil Bronstein over their adopted son Roan. The divorce was finalized in 2004.
“I lost custody of my child,” Stone said during iHeartPodcast “Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi” episode, citing her controversial reputation following the infamous “Basic Instinct” nude scene. “When the judge asked my child — my tiny little boy, ‘Do you know your mother makes sex movies?’ Like, this kind of abuse by the system — that I was considered what kind of parent I was, because I made that movie.”
Stone continued, “People are walking around with no clothes on at all on regular TV now and you saw maybe like a 16th of a second of possible nudity of me — and I lost custody of my child.

Sharon Stone has recalled the backlash she endured after starring in Basic Instinct, including the legal consequences she claims it had.
Her breakout role in the 1992 erotic thriller as crime novelist Catherine Tramell – who seduces the detective (Michael Douglas) looking into her for the grisly murder of a rock star – led Stone to become one of Hollywood’s most popular sex symbols of the Nineties.
On a new episode of iHeartPodcast’s Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi, Stone spoke about the repercussions she faced after leading the film.
She said the worst consequence of all was losing custody of her then-eight-year-old adopted son, Roan Bronstein.
In 2004, Stone and her ex-husband Phil Bronstein were embroiled in a long-running legal battle over primary custody of Roan.
The now-64-year-old actor remembered the judge asking her son whether he knew “[his] mother makes sex movies”.

Netflix’s “Firefly Lane” captures a friendship that transcends the obstacles of distance, age and time as well as all kinds of rifts, arguments and betrayals (for the most part).
Spanning four decades, many trends and countless defining historical moments, “Firefly Lane” chronicles this core female friendship and how it weathers life’s challenges, and stars Sarah Chalke, Katherine Heigl, Roan Curtis and Ali Skovbye told TheWrap about their onscreen chemistry and the twists and turns of Season 2.
While they form a close friendship almost instantly, Kate and Tully could not be more opposite, both in personality and in their life goals, ambitions, desires and dreams.
Music plays a role all on its own throughout the series as well, and Heigl and Chalke had swift answers to which song would most accurately represent their characters.

When “Firefly Lane” co-executive producer and author of the novel Kristin Hannah met with the TV adaptation’s creator Maggie Friedman, she gave her two pointers on the core of the story, which chronicles the ever-evolving friendship between quirky, methodical Kate Mularkey (Sarah Chalke) and bold, ambitious Tallulah ‘Tully’ Hart.
“The single most important thing was that this was a story that highlighted almost a female soulmate, your very best friend who is your best friend from the time you’re 13, for all of your life,” the author said in a recent interview with TheWrap. “We don’t sort of see enough of that representation on TV. I do think that the series has done an amazing job of creating these two women who, as different as they are, you absolutely believe that they love each other, and when the chips are down, they’re going to be there for each other.

Actress Sharon Stone is expected to go under the knife to have a “large fibroid tumour” removed following a misdiagnosis. The “Basic Instinct” actress will have the surgery 21 years after she suffered a brain haemorrhage and stroke that almost killed her, reports aceshowbiz.com.
