Exclusive: I Could Eat – Part 1, the first installment of a new two-part comedy special from Lavell Crawford, is set to premiere across platforms via Comedy Dynamics tomorrow, debuting in album form on Friday, October 25.
In Part 1, the trailer for which you can view above, Crawford contemplates how My 600 Pound Life could go for 15 seasons and he’s still underweight, the kind of racist you have to be to not take a free holiday, and explosive consequences in a Taco Bell bathroom.
Brian Volk-Weiss directed the special and exec produced alongside Crawford, Cisco Henson, and Justin Edbrooke. The launch date for I Could Eat – Part 2 has not yet been disclosed.
Stated Volk-Weiss, who’s the CEO of both Nacelle Company and subsidiary Comedy Dynamics, “Lavell is one of those comedians that makes you laugh until your belly hurts. This new two-part special is some of his best work!”

For years, stand-up comedy superstar Bill Burr mercilessly and hilariously mocked Star Wars and Star Wars fans. However, no one was laughing once Burr landed a role in Star Wars.
In Hollywood, it sure seems that every single performer who finds success on either side of the comedy/drama divide suddenly decides that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence as soon as they get famous. Every Oscar-winner thinks that they’re funny and secretly wants to guest star on Abbott Elementary. Conversely, every sitcom star who builds a name for themselves by busting guts makes their agent send them out for every meaty, serious and ill-fitting part in the newest A24 drama.
Stand-up comedians, however, exist entirely in their own sphere, where even their attempts to become comic actors can fail spectacularly, despite some assuming that the transition from stage to camera would be a natural one.

Better Call Saul ended last night with a wonderful episode that brought the entire Breaking Bad universe to a satisfying conclusion. We recapped the finale and spoke with Saul co-creator Peter Gould, but we’re not ready to say goodbye to the classic AMC drama just yet. So here are 10 moments from across the series’ run that remind us why a spinoff no one — including Gould and co-creator Vince Gilligan — seemed to think was a good idea at the start turned out to be as beloved in its own way...

This Better Call Saul article contains spoilers for season 6 episode 11.
Ever since Breaking Bad’s preantepenultimate episode “To’hajiilee” aired in 2013, fans have been wondering whether Saul Goodman’s lovable bodyguard, Huell Babineaux (Lavell Crawford) got away from the criminal underworld to live a better life. The last time we saw the pick-pocketing mastermind, he was told by Hank Schrader and Steve Gomez (Dean Norris and Steven Michael Quezada) to stay put in a DEA safehouse after interrogating him on the location of Walter White (Bryan Cranston).
The show leaves Huell sitting anxiously all alone in the room, never to be touched upon again in the ensuing three episodes of the show. And why would they? Huell is a minor character, and there was no time to give him any closure. The script has to be as lean as possible, and that doesn’t include putting a bow on the stories of bit parts.

This article contains spoilers for Better Call Saul season 6 episode 11.
Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, the masterminds and showrunners of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, have a keen appreciation for fan service. By all accounts the two men and the writing staffs they’ve assembled are unfailingly kind and polite individuals and those qualities carry into their respective relationships with the shows’ fandoms.
That’s why Gilligan and Gould were uncommonly forward in announcing well ahead of time that Breaking Bad lead characters Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) would appear in Better Call Saul’s final season. We’re all friends here, so why try to even hide such a notable “twist?”
That’s also why when it was revealed that Better Call Saul season 6 episode 11 would be titled “Breaking Bad,” it was fair for most fans to assume that this was the episode in which Walt and Jesse appear.

This article contains spoilers for Better Call Saul through season 6 episode 9.
Better Call Saul is supposed to be a crime show, a lawyer show, and a spinoff of Breaking Bad that gives us some great Easter eggs that tie the universe together. It’s a show about brothers (Jimmy and Chuck), and it’s a show about regret (Mike and his son). But above all else, it’s a show about quiet romance. And there’s no love story on television like the one between Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn).
When we first meet these two characters, we don’t understand entirely what their relationship is. Are they just friends? Do they have benefits? Are they dating? The answer is all of the above, and then even more.
The pair don’t express their profound romantic kinship with each other in the way other fictional couples do.

Jerrod Carmichael has never been one to shy away from difficult subjects in his standup act, and it seems like he is taking the same approach to directing movies. The comic, who recently came out as gay, made his directorial debut last year with the indie film “On the Count of Three,” a buddy comedy in which he costars with Christopher Abbott as two friends who make a suicide pact. The unapologetically dark film screened at Sundance in 2021, where Carmichael’s directing was praised, and after some long delays, the film will finally be released in theaters next month.
“On the Count of Three” tells the story of Val (Carmichael) and Kevin (Abbott), two lifelong friends who are now determined to kill themselves. The film explores the friendship between them over the course of what they hope will be the final day of their lives. Like much of Carmichael’s comedic work,...

The last ride of Jimmy McGill is almost upon us. Better Call Saul season 6 will be the show’s last season and it will once and for all showcase the final transition of loveable up-and-coming lawyer Jimmy McGill into scummy criminal (emphasis on criminal) lawyer Saul Goodman. If Breaking Bad was the story of one man’s transition from Mr. Chips to Scarface, Better Call Saul is the story of one man caught between the idealized version of himself that he knows he could be and the less than reputable version of himself the world sees him as. This season, the idealized version will lose the fight, but he’ll surely go down swinging.
In official statement, showrunner Peter Gould had this to say about the final season of Better Call Saul:

If there's one thing Guy Torry, DeRay Davis, and Kym Whitley have in common, it's their passion for comedy. Phat Tuesdays founder Torry brought together the greatest in their craft at The Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard as a chain reaction to the 1992 LA riots. The legacy continues in the new Amazon Prime Video series "Phat Tuesdays." Torry, Davis, and Whitley tell Popsugar about everything from the magic of Black audiences to their memories of the late comedian Bob Saget. We also asked them their least-favorite question: who are your favorite comics, from the giants of the '90s to up-and-comers?
"This is the question I hate the most because it's too many," Torry explains. DeRay and Whitley explain that many Black comics don't get the exposure they deserve. "It's so frustrating," Whitley says, specifically referencing Black women not given opportunities.

“Home Team,” a Netflix film that stars Kevin James as New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, has announced its full cast, including new additions Taylor Lautner and Rob Schneider.
Payton revealed that Netflix was making a movie about his life last month, and the film centers on Payton in 2012 when the coach was suspended by NFL commissioner Roger Goddell for the entire 2012 season related to the team’s role in the “Bountygate” scandal, in which the team was accused of paying out bounties or bonuses to players who successfully injured opposing team players. The film shows how Payton began to reassess his life and took a job as the offensive coach for his son Connor’s sixth-grade football team in the Dallas area.

Considering the raw, uncomfortable truths found in Jerrod Carmichael’s comedy, the logline of his directorial debut shouldn’t come as a surprise: two friends make a pact to end their lives and experience one final day together before plans to carry through with the dual deeds. Though not scripted by Carmichael himself, The Carmichael Show writer-producer Ari Katcher and his Ramy co-writer Ryan Welch have crafted a character-focused story with layers of necessary darkness and pathos while still injecting humor that mostly feels like a natural fit considering the subject matter. As to be expected, Taste of Cherry this is not, but with its layers of despair and dark comedy mixed with genuine friendship, Carmichael owes a bit to Mikey and Nicky in this ride-or-die, last-day-in-a-life outing. Even if the last act doesn’t succeed as intended, On the Count of Three threads the difficult task of finding the...

This article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2 episode 4.
Though Disney+’s first Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian is only a year old, the series is already starting to circle back on its own mythology. In season 2 episode 4 “The Siege,” the show brings back a secondary character who factored heavily into the series’ very first scene.
That’s right: Horatio Sanz’s “The Mythrol” is back and he’s just as useless as ever. Longtime Mando fans will remember Sanz’s unnamed Mythrol as the first bounty that the show’s titular bounty hunter collected. After saving the Mythrol’s life from a group of trawlers, Din Djarin a.k.a. The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) went ahead and captured the amphibious rogue himself. The Mythrol was encased in carbonite Han Solo-style and handed over to the Bounty Hunters’ Guild.

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for “Better Call Saul” Season 4 Episode 6, “Pinata.”]
Case Summary
We start off by going further back into the past than ever, encountering Jimmy and Kim at perhaps the youngest age we’ve ever seen them: Both are pushing the mail carts around Hamlin Hamlin & McGill, but it’s third-year-law-student Kim who shows her legal ambitions when she proves her knowledge of the law to a whole and healthy Chuck McGill.
10 years later, the dynamic hasn’t really changed — Kim is hard at work for Mesa Verde, and Jimmy continues to struggle with his pursuits outside the law. However, while they’re still living together, their relationship sustains a few body blows in “Pinata”; specifically, Kim decides to join the firm of Schweikart and Cokely as a partner leading their banking division, which means she’ll be able to split up her Mesa Verde work amongst other lawyers and continue doing the...

Lavell Crawford finally made his long-awaited “Better Call Saul” debut on the AMC series’ May 8 episode. But the show’s team initially wasn’t quite sure how to handle the fact that the actor has dropped 140 pounds since playing bodyguard Huell Babineaux on “Breaking Bad.” Huell popped up briefly during the recent installment of “Saul,” teaming with Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) to plant a cell phone battery on brother Chuck McGill (Michael McKean). Crawford told TheWrap that producers initially wanted the stand-up comic to don a fat suit for the appearance, in order to look a bit more like his old self.

For the last few weeks in Better Call Saul, we have been consumed with the "Mike" story line, and the reintroduction of Breaking Bad characters. We have seen Gus (Giancarlo Esposito), Victor (Jeremiah Bitsui), Tyrus (Ray Campbell), Salmanca (Mark Margolis), Bolsa (Javier Grajeda), The Doctor, The Brothers, and this week we got a special treat with Huell (Lavell Crawford). Huell was one of my favorite characters from Breaking Bad, and I will never forget the scene where Hank shows him the picture of Jesse's brains and Huell spills his guts, figuratively.
However, this week, we have a full Jimmy/Kim episode, or rather a Jimmy vs. Chuck episode. In fact, think of this episode as a dirty Law & Order episode. My prediction here, as judging by the seedy means of Jimmy sabotaging Chuck, the loser, and the person disbarred from practicing law will be Chuck. The problem is Chuck's ego,...

Better Call Saul shelved all the drug-trade stuff this week and went full-on courtroom drama, building to a climactic brother-vs.-brother showdown between Jimmy and Chuck.

‘Better Call Saul’ Review: Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean Spar in an Ultimate Clash of the Brothers
Last Week’S Review: ‘Better Call Saul’ Review: It’s Strategy Versus Will in an Episode of Showdowns
Case Summary
It’s the trial we’ve been waiting for, because Chuck (Michael McKean) is on a mission: To get Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) disbarred. Not suspended, but disbarred. The episode is, therefore, largely devoted to Jimmy’s hearing before the New Mexico Bar Association — the testimony of Howard Hamlin, followed by the playing of the fateful tape, and then Chuck’s own turn on the stand.
This has a number of repercussions, because Jimmy’s got a plan that (like so many of his plans) involve factors outside of the legal system. First off, it’s the arrival of Rebecca (Ann Cusack) to throw Chuck off his game — then there’s hiring Huell (yes, “Breaking Bad’s” Huell!) to plant a secret battery on Chuck’s body (something to which Jimmy...

Audiences are, by now, used to the R-rated gross-out comedies that feature man-child characters getting into ridiculous, often moronic, situations. It’s a genre that was once box office gold, blending shocking and outrageous scenes with surprisingly sweet sentiment. However Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates takes the concept one step further, fighting for male/female equality through cinema, with not only male characters acting stupid and outrageous, but also the ladies of the cast. Yes, this is an “equal opportunites idiot” movie!
The film follows the titular Mike and Dave, two fun-loving (and, honestly, idiotic) brothers who tend to get out of control at family gatherings.
