Blockbuster films like “Despicable Me” and “Turbo” started on the big screen before launching their games, but what if you could do the reverse? That is what mobile entertainment startup Seriously is aiming with the launch of Best Fiends, the first property from the company released on Thursday. Founded by former Rovio executives Petri Järvilehto and Andrew Stalbow, the Seriously team has worked on games that have over two billion downloads. Stalbow, who was just named to TheWrap's Innovators list, previously served as senior VP of mobile at Fox Digital Entertainment. After 1 million sales across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3Ds, Activision and Rovio today announced that the "Angry Birds Trilogy" will be soaring over to Wii and Wii U later this year.
"Angry Birds' proven formula for fun and addicting gameplay translated perfectly to the big screen and the consumer response has been overwhelming," said Jennifer Mirabelli, VP of Sales and Marketing for Activision Publishing, Inc.
The collection combines three of the franchise's most successful games – "Angry Birds," "Angry Birds Seasons" and "Angry Birds Rio" – which have been completely recreated in HD with refined controls, all-new animations and interactive backgrounds. 700+ levels with more than 150 hours of gameplay should be plenty to keep you busy.
"It was certainly satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in 2012," said Petri Järvilehto, Evp of Games for Rovio. "The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so...

As several other "Angry Birds" titles have already flapped their wings over to the social network, I suppose it was only a matter of time before "Angry Birds Star Wars" showed up on Facebook. Rovio recently announced the game's browser-based availability, and the social version brings some interesting new features with it.
"It’s all the fun of Angry Birds Star Wars taken to the next level," said Petri Järvilehto, Evp of Games at Rovio. "You get the great Angry Birds Star Wars gameplay for free, plus you can compete against your friends to see who is the ultimate bird-flinger and Jedi Master."
The game will receive five new stages every week, allowing players to constantly compete with eachother to determine who has the most advanced Jedi bird slinging skills. Competing with friends also offers the opportunity to earn in-game rewards.

We learned that Activision and Rovio had been working together to bring Angry Birds to consoles earlier this year at E3, but we didn't know what exactly they had planned. However, in a recent interview Rovio's Executive Vice President of Games Petri Järvilehto has revealed that the console will be the Angry Birds Trilogy.
The trilogy will bundle the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio and in a recent interview with IGN Järvilehto revealed that the title has been “built from the ground up” for HDTVs.
"You can think of the game as the ultimate collector’s edition," Järvilehto told IGN. "There are new cinematics, extras and other entertaining content. In addition all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution and big screen."
"The backgrounds have been animated, we've added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on," he added.

There's just no stopping the Angry Birds train and after 600 million or so downloads across mobile devices and PC the rig just keeps on chuggin'. Just in time for Valentine's Day, the fearless avian pig pounders have nestled themselves into a new home -- Facebook.
Obviously the game is going to be more of the tower toppling fun we've experienced with the franchise's earlier releases, but Rovio does have a few things up its sleeve to keep the experience fresh. In all there will be new social (surprise!) and competitive features, new power-ups and of course, Facebook exclusive levels.
“This launch is just the beginning for Angry Birds on Facebook,” said Petri Järvilehto, Svp of Game Publishing at Rovio. “We have great new features and gameplay lined up for the fans in the upcoming weeks. Angry Birds on Facebook will offer a unique experience for our fans, and we’re...
