Amy Israel is a renowned television and film executive who currently serves as President of Television at Peter Chernin's North Road Company. Notably, she has led the Original Programming department at Showtime, Production and Acquisitions department at Paramount Vantage and the Acquisitions and Co-Production department at Miramax Films.
Since joining North Road in late 2023, Israel has overseen the company's global television division, managing its premier slate of scripted series. She works with the independent studio's respected leadership to continue its growth, leveraging substantial capital reserves and a bold, talent-first approach to expand its world-class content portfolio.
While at Showtime, Israel oversaw the development & production of the company's scripted slate globally. Her leadership resulted in multiple hit series, including Ripley (Netflix) and Fellow Travelers, which are nominated for 13 and three Emmys, respectively, twice Emmy nominated Yellowjackets, Golden Globe winner The Affair, Peabody Award-winner The Good Lord Bird, Billions, Masters of Sex, The Curse, Three Women (Starz), The Woman in the Wall, The First Lady, I Love That For You, Let The Right One In, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, SMILF, Black Monday, Dreaming Whilst Black, American Rust, and On Becoming A God In Central Florida.
During her tenure as a leader at Paramount Vantage, Miramax Films and as an independent producer, Israel acquired and oversaw the production of numerous films. Her body of work as an executive includes Academy Award winning films No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Life Is Beautiful, Il Postino, Sling Blade, An Inconvenient Truth and critically-acclaimed films Into The Wild, Margot At The Wedding, Year of the Dog, A Mighty Heart, Defiance, The Duchess, Son of Rambow, The Goods, The Revolutionary Road, American Teen, The Others, Kids, Swingers, Flirting with Disaster, Smoke Signals, Muriel's Wedding, Bullets Over Broadway, Walking & Talking, Basquiat, Princess Mononoke, Georgia, Priest, Air Bud, Outside Providence, Chunking Express, Clerks, Trainspotting, among others.
