Mia has prompted a backlash over a series of tweets about vaccines and Alex Jones.
Relatives of Sandy Hook victims were awarded a combined 965m (£870m) in damages after the jury reached its verdict in Jones’s defamation trial on Wednesday (12 October).
The far-right conspiracy theorist and Infowars host was sued over his claims that the 2012 school shooting, which saw 20 children and six adults killed, was a hoax.
He must pay the sum to the plaintiffs, including 15 family members who lost loved ones in the shooting and a former FBI agent who responded at the time.
On Thursday (13 October), Mia tweeted: “If Alex Jones pays for lying, shouldn’t every celebrity pushing vaccines pay too?”
The musician followed up her tweet with another that said: “Alex Jones lying and Pfizer lying both trending. One with penalty, other without. If you have no critical thinking faculty, this is about as crazy...

Fox faced backlash this week for a tweet posted Wednesday by the account for its show “I Can See Your Voice,” which some users believed to include the use of an Asian slur.
“Do you think there’s a chink in Knight’s vocal armor?” reads the now-deleted tweet, which accompanied a short video of singer Julian Mendoza, who appeared on Wednesday’s episode of the Ken Jeong-hosted singing competition.
“On Wednesday, we posted a tweet in conjunction with ‘I Can See Your Voice’ that was inappropriate,” Fox said in a statement to TheWrap Friday. “The tweet has since been removed. We sincerely apologize to the Asian community and to all whom it offended.”
The tweet was sent from the Fox singing competition’s official account during Wednesday’s show, in which Mendoza was featured as one of this week’s six “Secret Voices” hiding whether they had a “good” or “bad” singing voice.

The final four couples headed to Las Vegas for the semifinals on “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart.” It was time to ratchet up the sin in sin city, and this quartet didn’t disappoint, for better or worse.
After two weeks of killer performances, Natascha and Ryan were probably doomed the second their date took place at a “trashing plant,” where they squashed large pieces of metal. Who comes up with these date ideas? Natascha moved in on poor Ryan, stating, “We have a good thing going.” A great tee-up for their disastrous performance.
Singing “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé, Natascha looked nervous and messed up when she handed Ryan the mic while he was still strumming his guitar. And she forgot her lyrics. Oy. Cutie pie Ryan can sing through a tornado and he knows how to play, and despite her confusion, he didn’t miss a beat.

‘Listen to Your Heart’ Episode 5 recap: Rudi and Matt splinter, but they’re far from the shallow now
Viva Las Vegas! The four remaining couples hit the road in the semifinals of “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart.”
At the mansion, four large tour buses greeted the couples, who basked in the excitement of leaving town for the first time and having the chance to ride in style. The fact that each couple had ample alone time for fun, intimacy and connection was definitely a plus. Bri and Chris, the season’s genuine lovebirds and understated frontrunners, took cute photos while sharing a few tunes. Jamie and Trevor, continuing to grow deeper week after week, did the same. Trevor notably revealed “nothing good can come from being emotionally safe,” an admission that would carry much weight later in the episode.
However, things weren’t as bright for Rudi and Matt, who seemed to be emotionally at odds. Matt acknowledged his hope of finding a life partner, but...

“The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart” was inspired by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper‘s performance of “Shallow” at the Oscars. After four episodes, we’ll finally hear the song on the show. Props for the restraint.
One of the four remaining couples will perform the Oscar-winning ballad on Monday’s semifinals. Make your guesses now as to who it’d be. Bri and Chris‘ off-the-charts chemistry could give Gaga and BCoop’s a run for its money, but an Elvis Presley tune is also on the docket, so they could easily get assigned “Can’t Help Falling in Love” — especially since the Las Vegas-set episode features the pair serenading a newly married couple at A Little White Wedding Chapel with Ben E. King‘s “Stand By Me.”
Ed Sheeran and Beyonce‘s’ “Perfect” and a Lady Antebellum song will also be performed.

Production of The Bachelorette season 16 may be on hold, but have no fear, reality-tv-lovers. A new Bachelor spinoff is debuting April 13 on ABC, and it's a lot like Bachelor in Paradise, except there's no paradise . . . and no Bachelor alums . . . and a lot of singing. Confused? Allow us to explain. In The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart, single men and women (all of whom are musicians or people who work in music) will live together and go on music-themed dates with each other. As ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said, "Think The Bachelor in Paradise meets A Star Is Born."
Through the music-themed dates, participants will attempt to find someone they connect with, and that person will become their new duet partner. Like Bachelor in Paradise, the couples are formed through "traditional" rose ceremonies, with "women giving roses to the men, and then some men going home, and the men giving...

Netflix unveiled its first unscripted music show today. “Westside,” which premieres globally on Nov. 9, is a genre-defining eight-episode series that follows the lives, loves and assorted struggles of nine aspiring artists (including former “American Idol” finalist Pia Toscano) as they pursue ever-elusive success in the modern-day music industry. Eschewing the standard competition-style format, this innovative approach intersperses raw docu-series footage with slick music videos and 20 original songs that emphasize the show’s themes and character story arcs.
The production quality of the series’ cinema-verite approach, along with a gritty, unfiltered look at the reality of struggle for success in Hollywood, makes “Westside” the polar opposite of the sanitized fantasy-like “Cinderella” story approach of a show like “American Idol.”
“Westside” also features original music written by some of today’s top hitmakers, among them Diane Warren, Philip Lawrence, Ryan Tedder, Shane McAnally, Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, Pat Monahan, Johan Carlsson, Ross Golan,...

Taylor Swift's current aesthetic is all snakes and leather, but she took a break from being dead her dark side for the upcoming music video for "Babe," her recent duet with country group Sugarland. A tease of the full clip - which premieres June 9 - aired during the Cmt Awards on Wednesday night, and it appears to show Swift playing the mistress to Legends of Tomorrow actor Brandon Routh, who happens to be married to Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles in the video. While Nettles angrily sips martinis and goes grocery shopping, Swift and Routh share a few passionate moments in his office. Definitely a change of pace for Swift's typical scorned woman characters, no?
The catchy track was cowritten by Swift and Train's Pat Monahan, marking her second foray back into the world of country music after becoming pop's reigning superstar. In 2017 she wrote "Better Man" for Little Big Town,...

Each one of these two dozen hopefuls had to perform both solo and in duets with celebrities in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. That trio of talent then determined if each contestant deserved a place in the Top 14.

On Monday night’s (April 9) “American Idol,” celebrity duets brought together hopefuls with their mentors — Andy Grammer, Bishop Briggs, Luis Fonsi, Pat Monahan, Aloe Blacc, Allen Stone and Sugarland, among them — and several of the contestants more than held their own.
“I don’t know how to critique anymore,” Katy Perry said just a half hour into the show. “Everybody is arriving and showing up.” Except, of course, for the five singers who would be leaving the competition.
The show started with a bang as Catie Turner teamed up with Grammer, gushing “Omg, you could be my uncle or something!” There’s something quite endearing about how Turner doesn’t give a damn, even after Grammer warned her about nerves. Their duet of “Good to be Alive (Hallelujah)” was exuberant and fun, earning praise from judge Lionel Richie, who told her, “You killed it.”
Up next was long-haired beauty Cade Foehner,...

Monday’s American Idol paired the first wave of Season 16’s Top 24 with some of the biggest names in music — before thinning the herd with five dream-crushing eliminations.
Before we break down all 12 of tonight’s duets, here are the five singers booted from the competition this evening:
* Trevor McBane
* Layla Spring
* Dominique
* Brandon Diaz
* Kay Kay
That means Cade Foehner, Michelle Sussett, Dennis Lorenzo, Gabby Barrett, Jonny Brenns, Michael J. Woodard and Catie Turner (phew!) are moving forward. Honestly, I have no complaints with these results. Like, I wish I had more to say, but I genuinely believe the best collection of humans remain.
