Nina Chermak Rosenberg
- Costume Designer
- Costume and Wardrobe Department
Nina Chermak Rosenberg is a costume designer known for her work on Devil's Revenge, Becoming, Disturbing the Peace, Murder At The Mansion, Mommy Group Murder, JL Family Ranch II (For Love and Land) as well as some television commercial work.
Her favorite thing about working in the film industry is the satisfaction of successfully collaborating with a diverse group of extremely talented cast and crew. Being instrumental in manifesting the director's vision is energizing for her. Nina loves bringing each character to life through color and wardrobe that best enhance the story. She believes there is nothing quite like the camaraderie that transpires on a movie set among all the departments. The synergy of the crew inspires optimal movie making by providing vital elements for the actors and directors.
Nina graduated from Parsons School of Design in NYC and began her fashion career there in the menswear design world; first, in the design/production department at Polo/Ralph Lauren, then at Alexander Julian Collection where she completed many key design projects. Among them, she spearheaded Alex's vision of the new NBA Charlotte Hornets' uniform that debuted in October '88 at Madison Square Garden.
Nina is also an award-winning hat designer, freelance (women's, children's, home furnishing) designer and fashion stylist. She has created costumes at Actor's Theatre of Louisville for the Humana Festival, A Christmas Carol, and Dracula. She is also a Stitcher and Dresser for Kentucky Center's Broadway Series, the Yum Center and The Palace's concert series through her membership with IATSE Local #897 Theatrical Union in Louisville. Favorite shows she's worked on include: Wicked, Motown The Musical, Aladdin, Hamilton, Cirque du Soleil, Disney on Ice, Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey and Tyler Perry's Madea.
Nina loves the challenge of problem solving on the fly and the "MacGyver aspect" every day set life presents. She is passionate about the many facets of successful costuming for film that involve finding or making the right pieces, often through aging, distressing, dying, bleaching, altering, creating and sewing what is needed to actualize the director's vision. Her sewing machine and steamer are always at the ready.
There's no such thing as a 9-5 day in filmmaking and each project magically draws together unique groups of the best artists in their fields. She always "looks forward to what comes next."
