Lockerverse — a startup platform for college and pro athletes, creators and artists to monetize their fanbases and offer exclusives by selling digital collectibles and merchandise — has linked up with CAA to represent it, a move that could hasten its access to sports talent.
The company was founded last year by attorneys Trey McDonald, James Carlos McFall and former Pinterest and LinkedIn executive Marcus Rance with an eye toward the name, image and likeness business for sports creators.
Lockerverse was launched with the halo of being part of Disney’s Accelerator program last July, which focused on startups in the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and metaverse space. (This was pre-ChatGPT going public, when “metaverse” and not “artificial intelligence” was the buzzword of the moment. Other Disney accelerator companies in that class included Web3 social app Flickplay, blockchain network Polygon and augmented reality company Red 6.) Another app, FanZone, appears to be competing in...

LeBron James is thanking fans for their support after his son LeBron "Bronny" James Jr. reportedly suffered cardiac arrest on July 24, per TMZ. According to the outlet, Bronny has been doing well following the incident, and sources added that the 18-year-old's parents, LeBron and Savannah James, have been feeling "relieved" and "optimistic" about their son's situation despite not knowing what caused his heart to stop. Reps for LeBron did not immediately respond to Popsugar's request for comment.
"I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers. We feel you and I'm so grateful," LeBron wrote on Twitter on July 27. "Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we're ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us! #JamesGang...

LeBron James's entire family dazzled together at the 2023 ESPYs. The basketball star's wife, Savannah James, and three kids - LeBron "Bronny" James Jr. (18), Bryce Maximus James (16), and Zhuri Nova James (8) - all stepped out for a glamorous night at the annual sports award show in Los Angeles on July 12 to present their patriarch with an award for becoming the NBA's all-time scoring leader this year.
Savannah, who has been married to LeBron since 2013, doesn't often speak on LeBron publicly, but she said the ESPYs were an exception while presenting her husband with his award. "As the ESPYs honor LeBron for breaking the NBA's all-time scoring record, I wanted to tell you what I think. I think LeBron James is the baddest moth-" she began before Zhuri stopped her, jokingly, from swearing on TV.
"I think LeBron James is the baddest to ever step foot on a basketball court," she continued.

The only thing LeBron James loves more than basketball is his family. The four-time NBA champion shares sons Lebron "Bronny" Jr. and Bryce and daughter Zhuri with his high school sweetheart Savannah James, whom he married in 2013. The James clan racked up quite a TikTok following during quarantine, especially after several of their TikTok dance clips went viral.
When the Jameses aren't showing off their dance moves or basketball skills, they're supporting one another's endeavors. The parents attended the "Space Jam: A New Legacy" premiere with their youngest, followed by a date night at the premiere of Netflix's "Hustle," which LeBron produced. Savannah also joined LeBron at the premiere of his latest project "Shooting Stars," which is currently streaming on Peacock, in May.
Learn more about Lebron's children - Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri - ahead.
