Andy Canny scooped Best Editing in a Feature Drama for The Invisible Man at the 2020 Ellie Awards yesterday, backing up his recent Aacta win.
Geoff Lamb took home Best Editing in Drama for The Commons, and Deborah Peart Best Editing in Comedy for Upright.
The annual awards, presented by Australian Screen Editors (Ase), were held online this year due to Covid, hosted by comedian Steph Tisdell.
In addition to the celebrations, the event also saw Ase president Fiona Strain announce after five years at the helm that she will be handing the reins to vice-president Danielle Boesenberg from February.
“She has been a calm, intelligent presence in the executive committee and will bring thoughtfulness and a commitment to diversity as we serve a very wide a range of members from students through assistants and others who have been in the industry over 40 years,” Strain told If.

Adult Swim animator and voice actor Clay Martin Croker died yesterday at the age of 54, as reported by Adult Swim creative director Jason DeMarco and contributor/rapper Mc Chris. Croker is best known for voicing both Zorak and Moltar on the long-running Cartoon Network talk show parody “Space Ghost Coast to Coast,” a series credited for establishing Adult Swim, spawning four separate spin-off shows — “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” “Sealab 2021,” “The Brak Show,” and “Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law” — and produced the majority of the writers and staff who still currently work for the alternative programming block.

I can’t figure out what the problem is here. The Metal Gear franchise has some of the deepest lore of anything going on right now, and the If Prototype Lq-84i (otherwise known as Blade Wolf) was an interesting character. The Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - Blade Wolf Dlc really should have been an easy piece of Dlc to put out. But as I’m sitting here staring at my TV as the credits roll, I can’t help but think that Mc Chris got this one right. I have to wonder why I supply the energy to my mortal enemy that should be a best friend to me.
The Blade Wolf Dlc lets you take control of everyone’s favorite robodog as you play through a bit of his backstory. The Dlc starts off as Mistral is preparing you for your first actual combat missions through some Vr training,...

Looks like Dark Knight Rises fans aren't the only ones having trouble taking criticism these days. Rapper Mc Chris picked Tuesday night's concert in Philadelphia as the right time and place to call out a fan for daring to tweet something negative about one of the Adult Swim fave's opening acts. (That's right, Chris freaked out over a tweet that wasn't even about him.) But since Chris heard what the Twitterverse had to say about him kicking a guy named Mike Taylor out of his show, it appears that the 36-year-old artist has turned over a new leaf when it comes to dealing with people's right to free speech. He started with a YouTube apology to Taylor, in which he broke down around the...

After catching holy, web-based hell for kicking a fan out of one of his shows over a nasty tweet, Mc Chris is repenting. The nerdcore rapper posted a teary apology video after having his ass handed to him by online fans over his actions Tuesday in Philadelphia, where Mc Chris stopped the show to call out a fan, Mike Taylor, for tweeting that the opener, Richie Branson, wasn’t “good enough to pander to” him. After identifying himself in the crowd as the tweeter, Taylor was escorted out of the building by security as Mc Chris yelled, “That’s what ...
