Last Man Standing wrapped up its nine-season run with a two-part series finale that sees the Baxters’ green truck as a literal vehicle to celebrate nearly a decade of family, love and Outdoor Man.

Concerned for her safety, Vanessa (Nancy Travis) offers to help Jen prepare for unpredictable scenarios by teaming up with Mandy (Molly McCook) for a challenging backyard bootcamp.

Last Man Standing is ending after three seasons on Fox, nine total, including an original run on ABC. And while the network has opted not to order another season, it is is sending Tim Allen and the rest of the Last Man Standing family off with praise just days before its series finale.
“The show took a bold, yet relatable, point-of-view with great humor and sensibility that directly spoke to families. Tim, the producers and cast have been great partners, and I believe this series will go down as one of the most meaningful family comedies in television,” said Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment for Fox Entertainment told Deadline. “It’s only fitting that a show of this importance gets the opportunity for a big, proper farewell to its loyal fans.”
In its hour-long finale, Last Man Standing will bid adieu to Mike Baxter and the rest of his quirky family members and co-workers.

Last Man Standing is coming to an end, again.
The Fox comedy will end with its upcoming ninth season, which will premiere on the network in January.
The move means that the Tim Allen-fronted series will have run for 194 episodes when it ends with its ninth season being ordered for 21 episodes.
It marks the second time that the sitcom has come to an end; the show, which is produced by 20th Television, ran for six seasons on ABC and was axed in 2017. Fox, which at the time was part of the same corporation as the studio that made it, picked it up for a seventh season that premiered in September 2018.
Last Man Standing is currently Fox’s only returning live-action comedy. The network has straight-to-series comedy series Call Me Kat, starring Mayim Bialik and executive-produced by Bialik and Jim Parsons, launching in midseason and is still planning to film...

“Last Man Standing” is coming to an end — again.
Fox announced Wednesday that the previously announced Season 9 of the Tim Allen multi-camera comedy will be the show’s last. The ninth and final season is slated to debut in January. This will mark the second time “Last Man Standing” has ended. The show originally ran for six seasons on ABC before being canceled in 2017. Fox then picked up it for a seventh season, which began airing in 2019. Upon its conclusion, the show will have filmed 194 episodes.
“It has been an honor to be home for Tim Allen and ‘Last Man Standing,’” said Michael Thorn, president of entertainment for Fox Entertainment. “Millions of families have long enjoyed the show because, perhaps, they see themselves in the Baxters. The loyal affection they’ve shown proves just how much this series has meant to them. On behalf of everyone at Fox, a big,...

Fox has officially renewed two more series for next season, flagship comedy Last Man Standing, headlined by Tim Allen, and medical drama The Resident, starring Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp. Both come from 20th Century Fox TV and both had been a lock to come back.
The pickups leave freshmen Prodigal Son and Outmatched as the only remaining Fox scripted series yet to hear their fate. As we reported, drama Prodigal Son’s renewal is being finalized while comedy Outmatched is not expected to continue.
Last Man Standing and The Resident will join the rest of Fox’s returning live-action series on the bench of midseason. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the timing of Hollywood’s production reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic, Fox’s fall schedule only features scripted series that are either already in the can or are animated, as animation has not been significantly impacted by the pandemic.

Fox is continuing to solidify its 2020-2021 lineup amid the uncertainty of the coronavirus.
The network has renewed medical drama “The Resident” for a fourth season, and family comedy “Last Man Standing” starring Tim Allen for a third season on Fox, its ninth overall. (Its first six years were on ABC before Fox picked it up a year after it was canceled by the Disney-owned network.)
“‘The Resident’ and ‘Last Man Standing’ are such important parts of Fox, and we’re so pleased they will be returning next season,” said Fox president of entertainment Michael Thorn. “We want to thank all of the writers, actors, directors, producers and talented crews for both of these shows, and, of course, our friends and producing partners at 20th Century Fox Television.”

Technology is amazing, isn’t it? On Thursday’s “Last Man Standing,” Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) is trapped in their Vail, Colorado cabin, courtesy of what appears to be like 5 feet of snow. Thankfully, his FaceTime is functioning flawlessly amid the blizzard.

There was bad news for Last Man Standing this morning when Fox’s fall schedule was unveiled and the Tim Allen sitcom was not on it. But they won’t have to wait that long for Season 8 of the show: It will debut in January after Thursday Night Football wraps on a new night, Thursday, going against NBC’s comedy block at 8 Pm.
Lms is expected to be paired with new multi-camera comedy Outmatched, starring Jason Biggs and Maggie Lawson. I hear that anchoring the night at 9 Pm will be promising new drama series Filthy Rich, starring Kim Cattrall. Fox had been trying to get the family soap for fall launch, but creator Tate Taylor’s film schedule did not permit that.
Allen shared the news of the new slot with his fans on Twitter.

Big news and kinda cool they are moving Lms to Thursday.

For the first time in its seven-season history on two networks, Tim Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standing will not be on the fall schedule.
Despite the comedy’s strong ratings performance in its first season on Fox, it has been held for later in the season. Last Man Standing had to leave its long-time Friday home as WWE’s SmackDown Live takes over the night in the fall, and was not assigned another slot on the Fox fall schedule, which will feature no live-acting comedies for the first time in years.
“We set some comedy goals, one of which was ramping up our animation lineup; that was our No. 1 comedy target,” Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn said during Fox’s upfront call Monday morning. He noted the three new animated series ordered for next season, including Bless the Harts, which got the post-Simpsons slot on the fall schedule.

Ahead of its milestone 150th episode Friday, Fox has renewed its flagship comedy Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen for the 2019-2020 season. This will be the series’ second season on Fox and eighth overall.
The renewal of Last Man’s Standing was never in doubt given its strong ratings performance in its first season on Fox, which picked up the series a year after it was canceled by ABC. Despite airing on the lower-trafficked Friday night, Last Man Standing ranks as Fox’s second most watched and third highest-rated scripted series this season in Live+7.

After a lengthy search, the upcoming revival of Last Man Standing has found actors to play two key roles that have been recast. Molly McCook (Good Trouble) will play the middle daughter Mandy, and Jet Jurgensmeyer (Will & Grace) will play the grandson Boyd, respectively, of Tim Allen’s Mike Baxter in the upcoming series on Fox.
The duo replaced original cast members Molly Ephraim and Flynn Morrison, who played Mandy and Boyd during the series’ run on ABC. They have opted not to return for Season 7.
McCook is recurring on The Fosters spinoff series Good Trouble. Jurgensmeyer played Jack’s (Sean Hayes) grandson Skip in a memorable episode of the NBC revival series last season.

The family sit-com is one of the standard genres of the TV industry, but as the face of the American family has changed in the 21st century, there will naturally be sit-coms to reflect the new world after the fall of the nuclear family. Created by Ed Yeager, Gary Unmarried tells the story of Gary Brooks, a divorced man with uncomplicated tastes who is trying to start a new life while still firmly linked to his old one. Comedian Jay Mohr portrays Gary as the kind of everyman underdog we often see depicted in situation comedies (The Honeymooners, the King of Queens, etc.). Mohr, one of the creative minds behind Last Comic Standing, has been a cast member of Saturday Night Live, appeared in several films including Jerry Maguire and was a total scene stealer in his supporting role on the Ghost Whisperer. Gary Unmarried stars comedian Jay Mohr as a newly-divorced dad who's readjusting to the single life. Others in the cast include Paula Marshall, Jaime King, Ed Begley Jr., Ryan Malgarini, Kathryn Newton, and Al Madrigal.
While CBS execs are thinking about whether or not to give the sitcom a second season, there's a big change going on behind the scenes. Creator/executive producer Ed Yeager and executive producer Ric Swartzlander have left the show due to creative differences with the network.
If Gary is renewed, it's expected that co-executive producer Ira Ungerleider and consulting producer Rob Des Hotel will be moved up to showrunners.
The change in staff may be good news for the sitcom. If...

"Gary Unmarried" executive producers Ed Yeager and Ric Swartzlander have left the freshman CBS comedy over creative differences.
The move comes as CBS is mulling the fate of the series, which is on the bubble for a second-season pickup.
There is speculation that two writer-producers on the show -- co-exec producer Ira Ungerleider and consulting producer Rob Des Hotel -- would be elevated to run "Unmarried," and with them in place the series would be renewed.
Yeager created "Unmarried," which stars Jay Mohr as a recently single painting contractor who shares custody of his children with his controlling ex-wife (Paula Marshall).
The project landed at ABC Studios after Yeager's friend, studio-based writer-producer Swartzlander, brought the spec to studio brass, they bought it and set it up at CBS.
ABC Studios co-produces the series with CBS Par.
After a promising start, "Unmarried's" ratings leveled off, with the show pulling respectable numbers in the 8:30 p.

Robert Rovner and Jon Cowan have been tapped as executive producers/showrunners on ABC's drama Private Practice.
The ICM-repped writers succeed Marti Noxon, who was brought on to run the show for its freshman season and is now moving on to other projects.
Creator Shonda Rhimes will remain the lead creative voice of the Grey's Anatomy spinoff, which was renewed for a second season.
While there is little intrigue about ABC's upfront presentation -- expected to feature only a couple of new scripted entries, drama Life on Mars and comedy Scrubs -- the guessing game continues about what pilots will make the cut at CBS and Fox.
Dramas Eleventh Hour and The Mentalist continue to lead the pack at CBS, with Mythological Ex and the Geena Davis project still looking good. Gaining momentum are Meredith Stiehm's The Tower as well as the Jon Turteltaub-directed serialized horror drama, which is eyed for a limited order.
The untitled Ed Yeager and Worst Week are getting buzz on the comedy side, with My Best Friend's Girl and the untitled Mike Birbiglia project also in the running.

Jay Mohr, Paula Marshall and Jaime King have been tapped to star in CBS' untitled Ed Yeager comedy pilot. Also cast in the pilot are Ryan Malgarini and Laura Marano.
The multicamera project from ABC Studios centers on an easygoing, recently divorced dad (Mohr) who tries to navigate new waters with his ex-wife (Marshall), to whom he was married for 15 years, his kids (Malgarini, Marano) and his new girlfriend (King).
Mohr is a regular on CBS' drama Ghost Whisperer, produced by ABC Studios and CBS Par. As part of his deal to star in the Yeager pilot, that project also will become a co-production with CBS Par.
For Mohr, the Yeager project is in first position. But if the pilot goes to series, there is potential for him also to appear on Whisperer, which has been renewed for next season.
Mohr is repped by Paradigm, New Wave and attorneys Deborah Klein and Andy Galker.
Marshall recently recurred on Nip/Tuck. King is set to reprise her role in the sequel to Sin City.

Like too many of its predecessors in the parody-film genre, including the recent Date Movie and Epic Movie, this would-be satire directed by Tom Brady features a procession of familiar and not-so-familiar scenes from its inspirations modified with the lamest of gags. In this case, the PG-13 rating even dampens down the normally enjoyable raunch factor to a depressingly low level.
Veteran supporting player David Koechner gets his Will Ferrell-style moment in the spotlight with his starring turn as Coach Lambeau Fields -- if the joke has to be explained, this might not be the film for you -- who is assigned the task of whipping a small town Texas college football team into shape in time for the big game.
This provides the framework for a barrage of bits lampooning seemingly dozens of sports movies from recent years, including Miracle, Rudy, Friday Night Lights, Invincible, Remember the Titans, Rocky and even such relatively little seen titles as Stick It. At one point, a musical number featuring a Journey song also is thrown in for no particularly good reason.
Most of the gags fail miserably, achieving little more than to provide momentary reminders of their inspirations. And the tangential jokes like the coach's sexually frustrated wife (Melora Hardin) passing off her young lover as an exchange student from the country of "Makingsweetlovetoyourwifeistan", are similarly lame.
While many of the film's targets like Cuba Gooding Jr.'s annoying turn as the mentally challenged Radio (here dubbed "iPod": these are the jokes, folks) are well-deserving of ridicule, the ineffective spoofing on display actually makes them seem better in retrospect.
Koechner tries hard, but ultimately scores few laughs except for when, like Ferrell, he bares his comically less than toned, fleshy body. Some of the supporting players manage to provide fun moments, such as Matthew Lawrence as a teen quarterback with sexuality issues and Carl Weathers as a rival coach.
