- Music Department
Ralf Wienrich attended the Musikhochschule "Franz Liszt" Weimar, where
he earned a university degree in composition and piano. Thereafter he
studied at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg under Oscar-winning composer
Cong Su. Among a number of small student films he scored the comedy
"Rochade", which received in 1998 a Student Academy Award (Foreign
Film). In 1999 he composed and produced the music for "Love & Rage"
starring Daniel Craig and Greta Scacchi. Ralf Wienrich often works with
German director Kai Wessel. The partnership led to a variety of film
scoring concepts, e.g. from modern jazz quartet to chamber ensembles,
from just an alpine concert zither to epic orchestral scores. His music
for several episodes of the highly successful TV movie series "Bella
Block" and "Spreewaldkrimi" received two German Television Award
nominations.
