Debbie Rowe has filed a defamation lawsuit against the woman she allegedly emailed stating she was only fighting for custody of her two children with Michael Jackson to avoid ruining her reputation.
Rowe's alleged confidante Rebecca White claimed to have received an email from Jackson's ex earlier this month, indicating she had no intention of fighting for custody of the eldest two kids, but felt she had to because of the level of public interest.
In one email Rowe was purported to have wrote, "My lawyer is telling me I have to take some responsibility about the welfare of the children. Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely."
White has told several media outlets that Rowe only launched a battle to gain custody of her two biological children with Jackson - Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11 - to save face and get her hands on some of Jackson's cash.
White told the New York Post, "The motivation is money. I really have to be honest... If the children aren't the ones she wants, what else will she gain from it?"
Rowe immediately hit out at the allegations, and threatened White with legal action, with a statement from her legal team saying, "Our firm has sent Ms. White a letter disputing the truth of her statements and demanding that she make retraction in order to avoid legal action."
However, White failed to retract her comments, and pushed her allegations further by appearing on U.S. news show Extra on Wednesday to talk about the alleged emails once again.
And Rowe's lawyers have kept to their word - filing suit in Los Angeles on Thursday, suing White for defamation, according to TMZ.com.
In the lawsuit, Rowe insists the emails are fake.

It was only a matter of time before someone got sued, right? We're just surprised it took three weeks. Michael Jackson's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, has filed a defamation lawsuit against her one-time friend Rebecca White for comments her old pal made to Extra about Rowe's so-called plan to go after custody of the two children she had with Jackson. White also shared emails that she claimed were from Rowe, including one that read, "I'm not going after custody. These kids are not mine. They were never mine. They were always Michael's. Just in to the "The Insider" newsroom: Court papers filed Thursday afternoon by Debbie Rowe, who is suing a woman for allegedly fueling reports that Rowe is willing to surrender her custody rights over her two children with Michael Jackson for millions of dollars. In the papers, Rowe sues Rebecca White – who allegedly claimed she is a "close friend" of Rowe’s – for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Jackson’s ex-wife alleges that White fabricated emails and other communications allegedly sent to her by Rowe. Specifically, Rowe claims in the papers that White, during an interview with a media outlet, falsely claimed she received an email in July from Rowe stating of Prince Michael and Paris: “I’m not going after custody. … These kids are not mine. They were never mine. They were always Michael’s.” The court papers further allege that Rowe never sent...

Debbie Rowe has hit back at reports she is only fighting for custody of her two children with Michael Jackson to avoid ruining her reputation.
Jackson clan matriarch Katherine was made temporary guardian of Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, aka Blanket, after her superstar son died last month.
Rowe's alleged confidante Rebecca White claimed to have received an email from Jackson's ex earlier this month, indicating she had no intention of fighting for custody of the eldest two kids, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.
In one email Rowe allegedly wrote, "My lawyer is telling me I have to take some responsibility about the welfare of the children. Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely.
"I don't want to look like the woman who gave away her kids and just forgot about them. Would Michael want (his dad) Joe to have them? I think it would be the last thing that he would ever have wanted."
White added: "The motivation is money. I really have to be honest... If the children aren't the ones she wants, what else will she gain from it? It's not like she doesn't love them. It's not like she doesn't want the best for them. But her life is different. The idea of being a mother to those children is something I don't think she really wants... She can't just sit back in the shadows and not say anything because then she will be looked at as the woman who gave up her children, and that's a horrible thing to say... She had to do something to protect them in a way."
But Rowe has denied all the allegations and reportedly plans to attend a Los Angeles Superior Court hearing on 20 July for temporary guardianship of the children.
Rowe's attorney says in a statement: "Our firm has sent Ms. White a letter disputing the truth of her statements and demanding that she make retraction in order to avoid legal action."...

Despite multiple reports that Michael Jackson's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, had accepted a multi-million payment to settle a potential custody battle over the two children she had with the singer, lawyers for both Rowe and the Jackson family said on Tuesday (July 14) that no deal has been reached.
Anonymous sources told the New York Post that Rowe, who relinquished custody of the children, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael, 12, in 1999 after the couple divorced, had agreed to take a $4 million payment in exchange for not fighting Jackson's mother, Katherine, over custody of the kids. That report is "completely false," according to CNN, citing an open letter to the New York tabloid from Eric George, Rowe's lawyer.

All nm1821371 autoDebbie Rowe[/link] wants to do is tend to her horses. That much was clear when MTV News sent writer Rebecca White to Rowe's Palmdale, California, ranch, where she has lived since 2005.
Out in the dusty California hills, Rowe — who unwillingly became tabloid fodder in 1996 when she wed Michael Jackson and bore his first two children in subsequent years — plays Noah to a veritable ark of animals, among them 10 dogs and 32 horses. She's always taken solace in animals, and after selling the Beverly Hills mansion she received after her 1999 divorce from Jackson, she moved out to Palmdale to focus exclusively on raising and breeding horses. She is rarely seen and hardly heard from.
