TNT has dropped the TV series adaptation of “Let the Right One In,” as reported by Deadline. The network had picked up the pilot of the drama based on the 2004 best-selling novel of the same name by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist last August, but has decided not to move into production. The series, written by “Teen Wolf” and “Criminal Minds” creator Jeff Davis, was originally planned to run on A&E back in 2015.

Lindqvist’s book followed a shy boy and his relationship with a young female vampire. In 2008, the novel was adapted into the film of the same name, which was directed by Tomas Alfredson. The 2010 horror movie “Let Me In,” helmed by Matt Reeves, was based on the same novel.

As social media now provides ample exposure, TV and film event promotions — or as the marketing people like to call them, “activations” — have become increasingly elaborate.
And who can blame them: While thousands of fans come to SXSW, they also face infinite entertainment options. If you’re going to sell them on hanging out with your show, you’ll need to give them a good reason to do it. And if they’re going to share the best of the best, it better look cool on Snapchat and Instagram. Here’s a look at how the networks tried to woo SXSW.

In this first look at Season 2 of Animal Kingdom, we hear that “Smurf’s not in charge anymore” — which, if you ask us, should terrify the Cody boys as much as incentify them.

The TNT drama’s “Waves” trailer also suggests that Baz won’t be in mourning very long for ill-fated babymama Catherine (that is, unless he does his grieving naked and as a team sport), Deran and Craig will have a scream (literally), and though Smurf may be down at the start of the season,...

The Cody family took us on a wild ride this season, but they saved he best part of the ride for last. And, I'm not talking about Deran and Craig's unexpected truck journey (though that was intense!)
Death, insanity, and betrayal all had a part on Animal Kingdom Season 1 Episode 10 with betrayal being the main focus of the hour.
I don't think anyone will argue when I say that J is the man. I might not reward him with a gun like Smurf did, but I would have no problem shaking his hand for a job well done.
I wasn't sure what to expect when he was leaning on the wall while Smurf was counting all the money. He looked scared out of his mind, and he probably was. But, I was floored when he told her about the cops. That I didn't expect.
Looking back, it's clear he was working his game all along.

At least until you get to the poll at the bottom of this recap, no one can say that Season 1 of Animal Kingdom didn’t go out with a bang: By the end of “What Have You Done,” one character had eaten lead, another was in handcuffs, and J had revealed whether he would be playing for Team Cops or Team Robbers. Which was it? Read on and find out!

Animal Kingdom stars Barkin as the matriarch of a Southern California family that is prone to indulgence and excess, funded by criminal activities. When 17-year-old Joshua “J” Cody’s mother dies of a heroin overdose, he moves to the beach to live with the law-breaking clan. Scott Speedman (Felicity) and Shawn Hatosy (Southland) also star.

In the recent world of TV reboots, revamps and remakes, an Australian crime drama that made $1 million at the U.S. box office seems like an unlikely venture to join more established household names cluttering DVRs and streaming services. David Michôd’s lauded film “Animal Kingdom” doesn’t have quite the recognition of “Rush Hour,” “Fuller House,” “Limitless” and “The X-Files,” but that may work in TNT’s favor as they transport the drama from Melbourne to California. While the Michôd movie balanced brains and brawn, the TNT series favors the latter in its first episode, which was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. It’s not a dumb show, per se, but it’s one that’s more focused on movement and physical presence than on dialogue in establishing its characters. In the Cody family, there’s plenty of posturing from the men and preening from the matriarch, and like the actual animal kingdom,...

“He’s blood, baby. He’s in… ’til he proves he isn’t.”
Those aren’t exactly the words you’d expect a woman to say about her grandson, but in the world of TNT’s Animal Kingdom, that might be as warm and fuzzy as it gets.

Hey y’all! I’m back to-
“Shaun Of The Dead!” someone shouts.
Alright, alright, settle down now. Settle down. I’ve got something to tell you. A lot of you know what I’m about to say. Some of you might sense what’s coming. Regardless, let’s all take a knee.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
Okay.
…Shaun Of The Dead is almost 12 years old.
I know. It hurts. We’re super old and it’s a problem. Kids who were born the day Shaun came out are in secondary school. They’ve probably hit puberty. They’re feeling weird feelings about each other that they can’t explain. Their parents are probably starting to piss them off. Their parents who are probably us. We could be the parents of...

Appropriately enough given that it's set in California, Made in Chelsea: La is really starting to hot up. Breakups, makeups, dramas and scandals - and that's just Mark-Francis hiring a new maid. As always, the show was utterly ridiculous - as Jp would say - so read on for our 14 best bits this week...
1. Is the hottest new Chelsea couple Mytton and Jamie or Mytton and Jp?
Mytton is such a player - and now he's turned his attention to Jamie and Jp. We thought he and Jamie were a sure thing after Mytton dubbed him "a bit of a Cali babe", but then as soon as Jp rustled up some courgetti spaghetti for him it was another story. (Courgetti spaghetti, really.) We think Jamie's going to win, though, seeing as the next time trailer showed him wedding Mytton in Vegas. We don't even know what to do with all of this.

Joining the Chelsea regulars will be Naz Gharai, Bryan Mione, Cody Weselis, Noah Bewley and Olivia Fox - we just hope they've nailed their awkward silences. Read on to meet them...
Naz Gharai
Naz - originally from Del Mar in San Diego - is single and describes herself as a "hopeless romantic". She's studying for a degree in biology and psychology and is an assistant to a famous music producer, but also enjoys hiking and running on the beach. So what is she looking for? An intelligent man who would take her parasailing or jet packing - oh, and she's described as a "confident head turner who is not afraid to share her opinion". Perfect Chelsea material, then.
