Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
Was taught by his mother how to play the piano and organ.
His father was the postmaster of Joplin, Missouri.
Founding member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
Wenrich and his wife, Dolly, toured as a vaudeville song and dance act for 15 years.
Attended Chicago Musical College.
