Eric Trump was mocked on social media after he made hypocritical claims during an interview with Fox News.
“It’s sad,” he said. “We’re no better than some of these Third World countries around the world. We are literally trying to imprison political opponents. We’re better than this.”
He additionally claimed that the Department of Justice wants to imprison his father for “political speech” over the statements Donald Trump made before the January 6 riot.
Eric Trump was referring to his father’s recent indictments – but was incorrect in his statements. He was attempting to defend his father’s legal problems but forgot to mention his own Donald Trump’s past actions.
The former president is facing multiple charges related to money he paid to porn star Stormy Daniels, mishandling classified documents and conspiring to overturn the 2020 election.

Elon Musk’s narcissism apparently knows no bounds. On Monday night, Musk compared himself to Batman and tweeted an image of the Caped Crusader on top of a church rooftop with the caption “Some nights.”
The response has been so hilarious that “The Batman 2” writer Mattson Tomlin even weighed in, responding “Nope.”

Meghan McCain’s days of ranting and raving about hot topics on “The View” are over – and fans of the show could not hide their excitement if they tried.
McCain officially signed off from the ABC talk show on Friday to considerable fanfare from longtime “View” viewers, with one commenter exclaiming, “the evil has been defeated!”
The conservative personality’s last day on the show was marked by more smiles and well-wishes than you’d expect for someone that seemingly left a path of interruptions and shouting wherever she went. After a montage of some of McCain’s highlights from the show played, she signed off by thanking “The View” cast, crew and audience for allowing her to “give my opinion and show my perspective.”

Vying to steer the Writers Guild of America, there’s a slate of high-profile dissident candidates. Among them is “Chernobyl” writer-creator Craig Mazin, who recognizes that his proposed strategy in the screenwriters’ battle against talent agencies — compromising on the controversial practice of packaging — isn’t exactly sexy.
“You generally get the best outcome if you can think from your point of view, and from the other person’s point of view. You’ll actually do better than if you shut the other person’s point of view off and hold your breath,” he told IndieWire. “It’s so pragmatic. It’s so bottom-line oriented that it doesn’t necessarily quicken the pulse.”

After the sexual harassment allegations against Louis C.K. surfaced in the news in November 2017, Sarah Silverman used her Hulu show “I Love You America, With Sarah Silverman” to address the strikes against the comedian and man she had called her friend since she was 19 years old. Now that he has dipped his toe back into the standup comedy world, less than a year later, Silverman is still struggling with how she feels about what she has learned.
“Things are very black and white if it isn’t someone you love on either side, on any part of it,” Silverman said at the Paley Fall TV Preview for the second season of her show Friday. “My heart goes out to him [but] then I have to stop and say, ‘You know what? Brett Ratner has teamed up with Mariah Carey to develop a new Christmas movie, which New Line Cinema already bought. At this point, very little is known about the project, except that it will focus on the holiday and a message that music can transport you back to happy times. The new movie is being written by David Diamond and David Weissman, who previously worked with Ratner on "The Family Man," starring Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni. The plan is to include songs from different artists, including Carrey. The Christmas holiday is special for Carey, who wrote and performed "All I Want for Christmas Is You," a 1994 tune that has sold more than 14 million copies globally to become the biggest holiday son in recent memory and the biggest international hit of Carey's career.

With the exception of staple Christmas carols, perhaps the most well-known holiday song is "All I Want for Christmas is You" by chart-topping singer Mariah Carey. And now she'll be heading into holiday territory on the big screen as Deadline reports New Line has picked up a pitch from Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment that would see her starring in a Christmas movie. At this time, the plot of the holiday film is being kept under wraps, but Carey will likely be able to use her musical talents because it's said to feature the theme of how the power of music can transport you back in time to your truest, most authentic feelings. Sounds pretty cheesy, but that's Christmas movies for ya. The script will come from David Diamond and David Weissman, who previously scripted The Family Man for Brett Ratner to direct, though the filmmaker will only be producing this time.

Writers David Diamond and David Weissman (The Family Man) have sold dual-reality drama The Double Life Of Emily Reed to ABC through ABC Studios and studio-based Temple Hill. Emily Reed is a 35-year-old divorcee from New Jersey with two kids who’s at a tipping point in her life when she makes the life-changing decision to move herself and her kids in with her mom. Just when she gives up on all her dreams, Emily magically wakes up the next morning in a gorgeous Soho loft lying next to an even more gorgeous naked man. And thus begins the double life of Emily Reed, where she lives each day twice — once as a divorced mother of two in suburban New Jersey, and again as a successful independent New York business woman. The premise is reminiscent of the parallel universe movie Sliding Doors and the NBC series Awake. Diamond and Weissman...

To quote the great Commandant Lassard, it has been “many, many wonderful” years since the original ‘Police Academy’ was released. From those days of risqué humour, walking one man sound effects and ‘Carry On’ style antics, grew a franchise that just refused to die. Some instalments were fun whilst others were nearly unwatchable, but still Mahoney and Co held a special place in American culture.
Whatever way you look at it, the 1984 original was a huge success and earned over $80 million at the box office, meaning a modern continuation was always inevitable. We heard news a while back that newbie director Scott Zabielski was directing some sort of sequel, but things have been quiet for a very long time.
In a recent exclusive interview with film composer Robert Folk, WhatCulture has discovered that the long gestating Police Academy 8 film will in fact be a reboot of the entire series!

I have to admit, out of all the remakes that have been in some stage of development over the last couple of years, Police Academy is one of the last ones I actually expected to see get made. Nevertheless, New Line appears to be serious about the project, and they are continuing to move forward with it. This week it has been announced that the project just gained a director by the name of Scott Zabielski. Zabielski has no feature film credits to his name, but he is a director on the Comedy Central series Tosh.0. Perhaps more interestingly, he has actually been through police academy himself, as he also serves as a reserve police officer in West Hollywood. I'm not at all familiar with Tosh.0, but from what I hear it is a Web Soup-type of show that comments on viral videos and internet culture. Which is perfect because...

Studio New Line confirms Scott Zabielski is to take charge of the 8th instalment of the love-it-or-hate-it rookie cops franchise
You might think that seven Police Academy films were more than enough, but somebody in Hollywood disagrees with you. Studio New Line has hired first-time director Scott Zabielski, a part-time reserve police officer in west Hollywood, to take charge of a new film which will aim to reboot the long-running and much-maligned comedy series.
There has been speculation for some time that a new Police Academy film – the first since 1994's ill-fated Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow – was in the works. The series made a total of $242m at the worldwide box office and also spawned two TV series. Original producer Paul Maslansky, who is on board for the new iteration, said in 2010 that he hoped to return the series to the big screen with an entirely new cast.

Veteran reality TV director and producer Scott Zabielski earned a loyal following as the director of the Comedy Central series Tosh.O, featuring comedian Daniel Tosh selecting the craziest footage from the web. Zabielski looked to put his comic skills to good use reviving the long-running Police Academy franchise, last seen in 1994’s Police Academy: Mission to Moscow. Variety reported today that Zabielski won over a number of veteran directors all anxious to reboot the comedy franchise they grew up watching. David Diamond and David Weissman wrote the redo script with original Police Academy producer Paul Masiansky returning for the reboot.

Chicago – Just when you thought Hollywood’s recent slate of romantic comedies couldn’t get any worse, along comes “When in Rome,” a film so deplorable that it should be arrested for cinematic harassment. The filmmakers seem hellbent on systematically humiliating each member of its gifted ensemble, while insulting moviegoers with the very notion that this exercise in laziness could be passed off as entertainment.
I once told Jason Reitman that “Juno” was the first film I ever wanted to date. “When in Rome” is not the first film I ever wanted to dump, but it surely is the first I ever wanted to file a restraining order against. It plays like a checklist of tired tropes that I never want to see again at the movies. A “magical” premise that’s merely an excuse for contrived plot arcs? Check. A neurotic female protagonist who constantly needs to be saved by her man?...

Does this sounds familiar? Committed non-parent type in high-status job unexpectedly finds himself lumbered by an ex with kids he never knew he had. As the kids grow attached to him, the reluctant father struggles to handle his new role. Ultimately he makes it clear that the kids are too much trouble and they have to go back. With the kids gone, though, the reformed dad realizes that family is more important than business. After racing through an airport/traffic jam/zoo (take your pick) the family is reunited and everyone (presumably) lives happily ever after.

Cast: Robin Williams, John Travolta, Seth Green, Kelly Pickler
Running Time: 1 hr 35 mins
Rating: PG
Due Out: March 9, 2010
Plot: Dan and Charlie (Williams and Travolta) are two business partners who have been best friends for thirty years. Their life is thrown for a curve when they find out that Dan has two twins with “the one who got away” from seven years ago.
Who’S It For?: Children will be educated in clichés, and adults will get some kicks watching respectable actors subject themselves to thoughtless wacky humor. In modern comedy terms, fun for the whole family!

The reputations of Travolta and Williams earned from earlier successful works might help create a sort of leeway for the mindless humor that they seem to partake in here so lazily. Were it not for their familiar faces, the vacuous scenarios that these...

Chicago – Culturally insensitive, disgusting, violent, vile, and shockingly unfunny, “Old Dogs” is the kind of embarrassment for which stars, writers, and directors should be forced to do community service. If someone delivered a product this awful to you at a restaurant, you wouldn’t have to pay for it and you could probably sue. Those of you who paid to see it in theaters, should consider a class action case. The rest of you should just avoid it like you would a dog turd on the sidewalk.

By Susan Granger - Be very wary of any movie poster that features a winsome blonde biting her pinkie. That's the primary lesson learned from this wretched romantic comedy in which cutesy nail-nibbling is supposed to be seductive.
Guggenheim Museum curator Beth (Kristen Bell) is unhappy. She works for an authoritarian boss (Anjelica Huston), her parents (Peggy Lipton, Don Johnson) are divorced and she's dumped by her longtime beau (Lee Pace) in the middle of an art gala. To add to her misery, her younger sister Joan (Alexis Dziena) is marrying Umberto (Luca Calvani) in Rome. That's where she meets Nick (Josh Duhamel), the Best Man, a sports reporter who shares her cynicism. Convinced that she'll never meet Mr. Right and far too inebriated to exercise good judgment, Beth visits an enchanted Trevi-like fountain where, instead of tossing in coin and making a wish, she wades in and takes five coins out.

The players: Director: Mark Steven Johnson, Writers:David Diamond, David Weissman, Cast: Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Jon Heder. Dax Shepard, Danny DeVito, Will Arnett
Facts of interest: Johnson also helmed "Daredevil" and "Ghost Rider."
The plot: A woman who doesn't believe she can fall in love actually falls in love when she takes a trip to Rome. That's pretty much it.
Our thoughts: Mark Steven Johnson’s “When in Rome” is one of the lamest romantic comedies I have ever seen. Trust me, it is really that bad. It is also yet another great example of how incapable Hollywood is to produce funny films, and even though that’s certainly no breaking news, it still occasionally shocks me to see so much money being wasted on disasters like this one.

I'm no shrink, but I'm fairly certain that When in Rome suffers from multiple personality disorder. The writers David Diamond and David Weissman, for whom we can thank for Old Dogs, apparently couldn't decide if When in Rome was supposed to be slapstick, romantic, or even slightly dramatic, so we're treated to a whirlwind of scenarios that don't add up in the end.
It seems that our protagonist Beth (Kristen Bell) suffers from the same disorder. Career Woman Beth is addicted to her Blackberry and claims she's waiting for a guy whom she loves more than her super-awesome job at the Guggenheim, but it sounds so forced, it's like not even the character believes it. Career Beth comes with two funky assistants and a slightly sassy gay man who seem to be her only friends. "Eff My Life" Beth runs into poles and is publicly humiliated by an ex at...

Director: Mark Steven Johnson Writers: Mark Steven Johnson, David Diamond, David Weissman Starring: Josh Duhamel, Kristen Bell, Will Arnett, Jon Heder, Dax Shepard, Danny DeVito, Anjelica Houston, Don Johnson Have you ever experienced one those moments in life in which you’re so annoyed and/or uncomfortable that you would do nearly anything to escape the immediacy of the moment? If so, you’ll have a good idea of the experience accompanying When In Rome. In what feels like a second rate version of Enchanted, director Mark Steven Johnson and cast manage to suck all the soul and hilarity that normally accompany some truly talented actors and deliver a sincerely terrible movie. When In Rome centers on the busy-body life of Beth Harper, a curator at the Guggenheim, as played by Kristen Bell. Beth is married to her job, and is far too busy to entertain the possibility of falling in love.

A turkey. Over stuffed. More sour than cranberry sauce. As flat as a thin layer of mashed potatoes. More painful than the post-turkey dinner walk to the couch. Take your pick of these Thanksgiving euphemisms that, each one of them, describes the new comedy Old Dogs, a film so void of successful humor, it could be eligible for Best Drama at next year’s Golden Globe awards if it were any good. It’s not. In fact, it’s downright infuriating to watch so much effort put into something so delusional of itself.
You can thank director Walt Becker, who didn’t do enough damage to John Travolta’s career when he put him in a biker gang with Tim Allen, William H. Macy, and Martin Lawrence, for much of Old Dogs’ failures. Becker’s come a ways since his days of dishing out R-rated fare like Van Wilder and the straight-to-video Buying The Cow.

Walt Disney Pictures have premiered a brand new trailer for "Old Dogs". The first trailer of the forthcoming family comedy serves as an introduction of the two main men, Dan played by Robin Williams and Charlie portrayed by John Travolta. It also provides glimpses at the chaos the two business partners face when they are put in charge of six-year-old twins' care.
Opened with a footage showing Dan and Charlie in an important meeting, the trailer moves on to display how clumsy Dan is around kids and what Charlie's real interest aside from his work is. Then, Vicky comes along with one big surprise for Dan, telling him that he has twins. Since then on, the lives of the two bachelors are thrown into disarray.

While this sounds like a hoax, the Hollywood Reporter insists that Fox is serious in adapting the premise of Snow White to a legal drama. Georgia and the Seven Associates will feature a lawyer exiled from the big firm headed by her mother so she opens up a storefront operation with seven oddball counselors. The series was created by producers Chris Brancato and Bert Salke (When in Rome), feature writers David Weissman and David Diamond and director Ken Kwapis.
"It is L.A. Law vs. the little engine that could," Brancato told the trade.
THR notes the lawyers will somewhat resemble their inspiration, “For instance, Doc is an ambulance chaser who carries neck braces in his trunk, and Sleepy is a bike messenger who parties at night and naps in the office.”
The producers say they were inspired by seeing the seven dwarves holding up the Disney building across the studio lot.

Heigh-ho! Fox is developing a contemporary take on the classic Walt Disney tale of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" from producers Chris Brancato and Bert Salke, feature writers David Weissman and David Diamond and director Ken Kwapis.
Tentatively titled "Georgia and the Seven Associates," the hourlong dramedy, produced by ABC Studios, is tonally described as "The Devil Wears Prada" meets "Taxi" set in Los Angeles' legal circles.
It centers on Georgia Burnett, a young lawyer who is banished from a top law firm run by her stepmother and forced to team up with seven quirky lawyers at a storefront legal office.
"It is 'L.A. Law' vs. the little engine that could," said Brancato, who is writing the script with Weissman and Diamond.
The associates at the firm will have the personalities of the Seven Dwarfs. For instance, Doc is an ambulance chaser who carries neck braces in his trunk,...
