2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens not only initiated a new Star Wars trilogy, but the film also addressed many open questions that fans have debated for nearly 32 years, since the end of Return of the Jedi in 1983. However, by the end of that film several important questions remained unresolved, including: What became of the ghosts of Yoda, Ben, and Anakin? What has Lando been up to all these years? And what happened to Vader's lightsaber?
Warning: possible *Spoilers* ahead...
According Jason Ward at MakingStarWars, it's possible that this last question might be addressed in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
In the climactic Episode VI lightsaber battle (aboard Vader's Executor dreadnought) Luke defeated Vader, lopping off his hand and presumably sending it down a reactor shaft -- along with the lightsaber it still gripped. Or did it? Rewatching the final battle, it's not clear whether or not this was the actual result.

When the first rumors about the reshoots on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story broke, I reached out to people close to the film, and I got back a general “It’s not a giant deal.” I didn’t get much else because the people I know who are close to the film, even the ones I’ve known for a long time, are very careful. Star Wars inspires a certain degree of protectiveness. Many of the people working on the film at all levels are life-long fans of the franchise, and the last thing they want to do is burn a bridge or do something that’s going to hurt the series. While I was skeptical of the most panicked reports (this one on Making Star Wars struck me as particularly off-base and hyperbolic, no matter what sort of track record Jason Ward has), something was apparently happening. Anthony Breznican,...

Spoilers Ahead: This article contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If you want to read our spoiler-free review, click here. The rest of you, read on… but know that you have been warned. It’s an odd feeling, having finally seen The Force Awakens and no longer needing to be a semi-hermit in order to avoid spoilers. Being cautious about what we read regarding the film had been an ongoing struggle for the better part of the last two years. If you did get spoiled about any aspects of the new movie, you likely have one place to blame, and now we know a lot more about what went into those scoops. The site in question is called Making Star Wars, and Wired Magazine has done an in-depth interview with Jason Ward, the man who runs the site and who successfully obtained many of the details ...

Two of the best experiences I've ever had walking out of a theater were when I first saw The Dark Knight during the summer of 2008 and when I saw The Hangover in the summer of 2009. Although those two films are extremely disparate in story and in tone, for me they share a common thread: as I walked into both of them I had very little knowledge of what I was about to see on screen. That made me even more excited as I sat in my seat waiting for those movies to start, because when you know nothing, anything can happen. Now don't get me wrong, trailers and marketing aren't necessarily evil. In fact, I'll happily tell you I thought the marketing campaign for The Dark Knight impressive, primarily because it highlighted certain aspects of the film, such as its characters and the world of Christopher Nolan's Gotham City,...

It all started when birder and wildlife photographer Jason Ward tweeted this photo taken by amateur photographer Martin Le-May of Essex, England. Le-May recently went on a nature walk hoping to see a green woodpecker for the first time.
He got that and then some:
Absolutley Incredible photo by Martin Le-May. Green Woodpecker and Weasel. Apparently the Woodpecker escaped. pic.twitter.com/PUt1b2Mbhs

News: Remember the Left Shark meme? Katy Perry made it a onesie!
Twitter immediately started retweeting the amazing snapshot, dreaming up Pixar-worthy backstories where the woodpecker and weasel are best friends and the woodpecker is giving his buddy a lift. Or they’re in love and this is the “A Whole New World” moment.
No. That weasel is trying to kill that woodpecker.
“We heard a distressed squawking and I saw that flash of green,” Le-May told Buzzfeed News. He pulled...

New rumours suggest that the role of Domhnall Gleeson will play in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been revealed. Nb: spoilers within...
Note: this post contains potentially spoiler-filled story rumours.
As various casting announcements have been made for this year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, questions have inevitably risen about who those actors will play. Domhnall Gleeson, for example. What's his role in the forthcoming Star Wars sequel?
If some rumours on Making Star Wars are accurate, the answer to that question may have just been revealed: Gleeson will play Luke Skywalker's son. While we have to class this as an unconfirmed rumour for now, the website's editor-in-chief Jason Ward states that he's heard this story from four separate sources, which might add a little more weight to the theory.
The site goes on to suggest that Gleeson's Skywalker Jr is far from a Jedi like his father - in fact,...

Star Wars fans got some good Christmas morning news a few days ago.
Editor-in-chief Jason Ward at MakingStarWars.net got word of a spin-off Star Wars project that will be filming in conjunction with “Star Wars: Episode VIII” at Pinewood Studios.
The spin-off will be the Han Solo which currently has the code name of “Luminac Industrial Goods.”
However, the really juicy detail is actor Aaron Paul may be attached to the Han Solo movie in some way. And there’s no “direct implication” he was going to playing young Han Solo.
The only thing for certain is that the first spin-off movie will be directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla”) for released on Dec. 16 in 2016.

A report on a Star Wars fan site claims that Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spin-off project will focus on Han Solo and that it will star Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul in some capacity.
Jason Ward, the editor in chief of Making Star Wars, wrote that he had been informed of the details, along with the film's working title.
"I generally shy away from reporting too much on the specifics of the stand-alone spin-off Star Wars films, because we hear so much stuff it can be difficult to know what to take seriously," he said.
"A code name for the production is Luminac Industrial Goods. [The source goes] on to say there's going to be a really interesting situation at Pinewood Studios. The filming will eventually overlap with some of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
"Who are they hearing the film is about? Han Solo."

Earlier today we posted leaked action figures from Star Wars: The Force Awakens that showed the front of Kylo Ren. Thanks to Indie Revolver we now have a detailed and colored look at what his helmet looks like. The black was expected, but the gold is a touch we've yet to see on a Sith. Rumor is that Ren is completely untrained but drawn to the Darkside of the force and is obsessed with the Sith. We also have what amounts to a thumbnail from Jason Ward, but I thought I might as well include it.

As you've already heard, actress Daisy Ridley is rumored to be playing Han Solo and Princess Leia's daughter in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII. Thanks to Jason Ward from Making Star Wars, we have a detailed description of the character along with some sketches showing us what the character might look like.
The concept designs you see here aren't actually from the film production. These were drawn by Ward who has seen the official concept design of the character, and he provided the following description:
"I had trouble with the loose free-flowing scarf, so I didn’t depict it. She has a ton of detail and gadgets on the costume, so please forgive me for any ambiguities. The pants reminded me of Boba Fett’s pants (they’re not). The knee pads, chest and scarf are a dark blue. The pants are grey. Her arms are a white 'bone' looking padding,...

Although we don't have the actual artwork to show you unfortunately, below are drawings done by Jason Ward from Making Star Wars, who has seen the official concept designs and provided the following sketches and description: "I had trouble with the loose free-flowing scarf, so I didn’t depict it. She has a ton of detail and gadgets on the costume, so please forgive me for any ambiguities. The pants reminded me of Boba Fett’s pants (they’re not). The knee pads, chest and scarf are a dark blue. The pants are grey. Her arms are a white “bone” looking padding, tied off with brown straps. My sketch looks like she has a hat brim but that is supposed to be a transparent visor. It’s like a solid piece of glass or plastic and you can see her eyes through it. The stances below are nearly identical to the art I was shown.

Exclusive: Disney Xd has added another pilot to its growing development slate. The boy-centric cable channel has greenlighted Pack of Wolves, a comedy from writer Jason Ward (Living with Fran). Ward and Jay Kogen (Frasier) are executive producing the project, which centers on the Oppenheimer siblings (Edison, Darwin, and Albert). They are being raised by their single dad, a brilliant professor, who rents their extra bedroom to a guy named Timberwolf (aka the Wolf), a rogue spy looking for a place to lie low. The Wolf proceeds to teach the kids how to apply spy tactics to their teen lives in the suburbs. Disney Xd has been relying mostly on broadcast sitcom veterans for its development. The channel recently handed out a series order to multi-camera comedy Wasabi Warriors created by Jim O'Doherty (Grounded for Life). And in May, it ordered a comedy pilot from That '70s Show alumni Mark Brazill,...

In a pre-emptive buy, DreamWorks Pictures has paid mid-six figures for the comedy pitch Do That to Me One More Time from writing team David Garrett and Jason Ward with Jack Black attached to star as well as produce along with Bob Simonds. The project reteams Black with DreamWorks after the actor recently wrapped a starring role opposite Ben Stiller in the studio's comedy Envy. Garrett and Ward, who penned the 2001 Chris Kattan starrer Corky Romano for Simonds, will now pen the screenplay, about a Sonny and Cher-style couple who hate each other and have a War of the Roses-type relationship.
