With the writers’ strike finally coming to an end, it strikes me that this may be a good opportunity to consider adjusting the process by which “Hollywood” evaluates what new films and TV shows should get the greenlight. Somehow in the ever-evolving pitch process, we seem to have replaced curiosity, collaboration and civility with a cool “show me what you got” attitude. It’s worth rethinking how to approach working with the creative community moving forward.

Another live-action Marvel series bites the dust. Hulu has announced that Marvel's Runaways TV show won't have a fourth season. Season three, comprised of 10 episodes, will end the series and be released on Friday, December 13th. Hopefully, it won't leave fans of the show with a cliffhanger.
Marvel's Cloak & Dagger series was recently cancelled on Freeform after two seasons. The main characters from that show, Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), will have their final appearance on Runaways in a crossover event.

It's time to say goodbye to Marvel's Runaways.
Hulu has announced the superhero drama will wrap with it's upcoming third season, which will span ten episodes.
"In an action-packed Season 3, the Runaways frantically search for their captured friends Chase, Gert, and Karolina," reads the official logline.
"The kids go head to head with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie — or more accurately, the child she’s carrying."
"Nico draws them all into a dark realm where its ruler Morgan le Fay, played by Elizabeth Hurley, is much more nefarious than anyone the kids have yet to face."

Hulu has good news and bad news for all you “Marvel’s Runaways” fans. The good: The Season 3 trailer finally dropped on Monday. The bad: The video revealed the upcoming episodes, which will be released on Dec. 13, will be the show’s last.
An individual with knowledge of the streaming service’s decision to end the Marvel series says that creatively, the series had “come to a natural ending point” and that Hulu felt this was “the right way and time” to complete the Runaways’ journey.

The live-action Marvel series “Runaways” is ending with its upcoming season on Hulu, Variety has learned.
The show, which is based on the Marvel comics series of the same name, is set to debut its third season on Dec. 13. That season will now serve as the show’s finale. According to an individual close to the series, the creative team felt that the third season provided a natural ending point for the show.
It is worth nothing, however, that “Runaways” was one of the few remaining live-action shows under the Marvel Television umbrella as set up by Jeph Loeb. With the end of “Runaways,” the only remaining live-action shows under Loeb’s purview are “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” which will end with its upcoming seventh season on ABC, and “Helstrom,” another Hulu series that recently set its main cast. I’m pretty stoked for the upcoming third season of Marvel’s Runaways. This has been a fun show to watch and the next season is going to get a lot more interesting with the arrival of the character Morgan le Fay played by Elizabeth Hurley, as well as the crossover with Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger.

Hulu is staging a superhero team-up of epic proportions.
It has been announced that the Runaways will be getting some assistance from Cloak & Dagger's Tandy and Tyrone during the upcoming third season of the hit series.
“You’ve all been asking for this and we’ve heard you loud and clear. So we made it happen,” the Runaways cast revealed in the video below, confirming the news.
It's unclear how the different groups will cross paths, but still, this is great news for fans of both Marvel dramas, especially given that Cloak & Dagger has yet to be renewed for a third season.
The show experienced a big dip in the ratings, with the sophomore run averaging around 355k viewers and 0.12 rating in the demo.

Hulu has released a teaser trailer for Marvel’s third season of The Runaways, and they’ve announced that the series will premiere on December 13th!
I’ve really enjoyed what Marvel has done with this series. I’ve enjoyed the characters they’ve brought to life and the story that is being told with them. I have no idea how long this show will last, but I’m glad that it’s getting at least one more season. I can’t wait to see how this story will play out.

Dennings will play Jules, a young woman who — after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend — must deal with her own imagination in order to literally and metaphorically re-enter the world of women, and rekindle the female friendships she left behind. “Dollface” also stars Brenda Song, Shay Mitchell and Esther Povitsky.
The series was created by Jordan Weiss, who serves as an executive producer alongside showrunner Ira Ungerleider, Dennings, Margot Robbie, Brett Hedblom, Tom Ackerley, Bryan Unkeless, Scott Morgan, Nicole King and Stephanie Laing. After Hulu danced around answering whether or not Marvel’s Runways would be returning for a third season, actor James Marsters just revealed the news that the comic book series has been renewed.
Marsters broke the news at Lexington Comic & Toy Con this weekend. While on a panel, Marsters, who stars as Victor Stein and Jonah in the series, whispered into the mic that “the showrunner just told the cast that we’re in for a third season!”
He later lamented, “I probably just broke all kinds of Marvel rules.”
He probably did. Shortly after a video of his remarks hit the Internet, Hulu confirmed that Marvel’s Runaways has been renewed for a 10-episode third season. (Get all the details here.)

Marvel’s Runaways looks set to return to Hulu for a third season after the digital platform’s content chief Craig Erwich praised the performance of the comic book adaptation.
The show’s 13-episode second season launched on December 21, 2018 and it seems likely that there’ll be another run this year.
“We’re really happy with the performance of Runaways, both creatively and in terms of its performance, and we’ll have an announcement shortly,” Erwich said, speaking Monday during Hulu’s session at TCA.
The second season of the Josh Schwartz- and Stephanie Savage-produced series saw the Runaways leaving their home and their evil parents behind and learning to live on their own. It showed them scavenging for food and searching for shelter.

Whereas Marvel’s Runaways with its freshman run zeroed in on the kids’ discovery of their parents’ treachery and Pride’s subsequent suspicion that their human-sacrificing, hole-drilling jig was up, there’s a lot more afoot in Season 2 — and that’s a good thing.
First, a bit of housekeeping: Based off just a few episodes, my Season 1 review assigned the Hulu series a grade of “A-,” which in retrospect was admittedly on the high side. (I suspect that I was grading on a curve, based off “other” Marvel series released last fall. ) So, if last year in actuality netted out as a “B,...

Hulu has released the official Season 2 trailer for Marvel’s Runaways ahead of its December 21 premiere featuring the superpowered kids on the run and dependent on each other for their survival. At New York Comic Con a new cast member was announced for the second season of Marvel’s Runaways: Topher, a fan-favorite character known for his crafty, streetwise persona, will be portrayed by Jan Luis Castellanos.
The actor shared a quote through Marvel: “I’m super grateful to be joining the Marvel/Hulu Runaways family. It has been a dream come true. Topher is a tough and complicated kid, and it was very exciting to bring him to life.”
Topher is a survivor with a dark secret in the comics — he’s a vampire not to be trusted — but the character may be taken in a different direction on the acclaimed Hulu series, which many fans regard as one of the most satisfying of the many Marvel-based shows currently underway.

The basic premise of the new Hulu series “Marvel’s Runaways” is a bit over-the-top (but easily sellable on posters): What if you found out that your parents were supervillains? However, the mysteries laid out in the first four episodes presented to critics indicate that the series aims to be far more complex than that basic synopsis might indicate, and that executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have a long game in mind for the show going forward.
