The film will have its world premiere and open theatrically on Friday, December 8th at Look Cinemas in Manhattan. Additional cities to follow.
A Father’s Promise, directed by Rick Korn and executive produced by Sheryl Crow, tells the story of professional musician Mark Barden whose life changed instantly when his son Daniel was murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary. After the loss of his son, Mark lost all interest in music and vowed to do everything in his power to help prevent gun violence so that no one else must go through what he and his family went through.

Despite social-distancing measures, Dion recruited Zz Top’s Billy Gibbons for the video for “Bam Bang Boom,” the latest song from “The Wanderer” singer’s upcoming all-star LP Blues With Friends.
The video (via Ultimate Classic Rock) finds the two Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees performing the bluesy cut from their respect quarantines. The track is an ode to Dion’s wife Susan, who the singer met in 1963.

The three-month Conan “shutdown” ended on Tuesday night, when late-night host Conan O’Brien debuted a streamlined version of his TBS talk show, which now clocks in at 30 minutes.
After 25 years, O’Brien bid farewell to the traditional hour-long format last October. At the time, he said that a 30-minute show would allow him to do “a higher percentage of the comedy in, and out, of the studio that I love,” which “seems to resonate in this new digital world.” That includes his critically acclaimed Conan Without Borders travelogue (now streaming on Netflix), as well as the podcast Conan O...

At times it may have felt like late-night talk shows were completely dominated by political talk this year, from biting commentary by way of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” and “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.” However, quite a few shows did what they could to keep it light — and perhaps go viral for their takes on pop culture instead. Think: the three-way call between Conan O’Brien, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon, as well as Paul McCartney’s appearance on “Carpool Karaoke.” With such varied bits, late-night provided a lot of distractions for the craziness of daily life.
Here, Variety breaks down the most memorable moments in late-night for 2018:
“Conan”
TBS announced in May that O’Brien’s hour-long late-night show would be reduced to 30 minutes in January and signal the departure of O’Brien’s long-time band, Jimmy Vivino & The Basic Cable Band. In the last...

Season 9 of Conan will return to TBS on January 22, with Conan O’Brien’s late-night talk show debuting its new 30-minute format that will air four nights a week in the 11 Pm time slot.
The new format will feature a new, improved look for the show that will focus will be on “silly remote pieces, interviewing brilliant and distinct people,” O’Brien said during October’s final hourlong episode. During that show he also bid farewell to his longtime house band, Jimmy Vivino & The Basic Cable Band (the same band headed by Max Weinberg up until 2010).
While the show has been on hiatus to prepare for the revamp, O’Brien has been busy with an 18-city tour, Team Coco Presents Conan & Friends: An Evening of Stand-Up and Investment Tips, and the November launch of his podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend. In early 2019, a new website will debut called “Conan 25,” featuring a comprehensive,...

Any late-night show is all about the host, and rarely is this more evident than when Conan O’Brien goes on the road in his increasingly popular travel specials, “Conan Without Borders.” These fall back on the host’s talents, instead of pimping a cavalcade of so-so guests, and gets him out of the studio to interact with compelling people. But they also allow for tighter, more precisely edited episodes, which helps remind viewers why they tune in every evening: It’s Conan, and nothing but the best of him.
As announced in May, future nightly episodes of “Conan” will shift from the classic hour-long format to a leaner, “less structured” half-hour program. He’ll still be on the air four nights a week, but Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band is out and a stronger focus on digital, social, and live events are in.
Most important, though, is letting “Conan” be Conan.

San Diego Comic-Con brings in thousands of visitors from across the globe who all travel in different ways to attend the big event. For consumers of geek culture, it’s the Super Bowl, the Oscars and Cannes and all at once. Every year it brings together vast crowds of fans of comics, movies, TV shows, games and celebrities. Some people travel by plane, others by train, and some even hitchhike, like our pal Deadpool seen above. But nobody travels in style, quite like Andy Richter and Conan O’Brien who arrived at Sdcc on top of a War Rig, with Jimmy Vivino’s Basic Cable Band providing percussion in the back. It is truly speculator. Enjoy!

I wish I could say that the sight of hundreds of eager Conan O’Brien fans waiting to get into the Beacon Theater while dressed as pop culture references (Waldo, I found you!), their beloved Coco, and The Flaming C! would be different on any night other than October 31st. But as any member of Team Coco could attest, that simply wouldn’t be the case. Halloween or not, the Conan elite were slapping on their finest (and sometimes intentionally downright terrible) orange wigs and welcoming home their departed hero, in a line that wrapped around three Manhattan blocks.

Wow, has it been a year already since the late night war was resolved? I suppose I should specify Late Night War II. The first war happened when Johnny Carson vacated The Tonight Show throne nearly twenty years ago. This was well chronicled in Bill Carter’s book “The Late Shift” which was also the basis of an HBO original movie. Carter’s released a new book about the new battles if you want some more background information ( or wait for the inevitable cable TV movie ). The focus of the new documentary by Rodman Flender, Conan O’Brien Can’T Stop, concerns this war’s aftermath. As part of his NBC settlement, O’Brien must stay off TV, radio, and the Internet for several months. So is Coco gonna’ ride the couch? Not a chance! He’s going across the country ( and Canada ) to thank his loyal fans by putting on a live stage show!

Each week within this column we strive to pair the latest in theatrical releases to the worthwhile titles currently available on Netflix Instant Watch.
This week Cars 2 gives sequels a bad name, and Bad Teacher attempts to cash in on the R-rated comedy wave, while limited release offers A Better Life and discovers Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop. Now, if these features can’t fulfill your need for animated tales of triumph, rotten role models, immigrant-centered drama and sidesplitting tour docs, don’t fret. We’ve got a line up that’s sure keep you on the edge of your seat as you kick back in your AC!

Cars 2
Larry the Cable Guy returns to voice the buck-toothed pick-up truck Mater, who falls into a world of international espionage as his buddy Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) spins his wheels abroad. Michael Caine, John Turturro and Eddie Izzard join the free-wheelin’ cast.

Rodman Flender captures the exhaustion and exhilaration of life on the road in “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop,” a documentary chronicling the grueling two-month, 30-city tour that O’Brien embarked on after he severed ties with his longtime employer, NBC. The network’s 2010 decision to reinstate Jay Leno as host of “The Tonight Show” resulted in a PR fiasco for NBC and stirred up a media dust cloud of outrage against both Leno and NBC. For his part, O’Brien’s ouster from the show left him feeling angry, abandoned, humiliated. To add salt to those wounds, NBC stipulated that O’Brien could not appear on TV, radio or the Internet for six months after his departure.

For Conan's debut show last night it's new home on TBS, he brought in pal Jack White, as musical guest. The famous buddies met over a decade ago in a bowling alley and have been on notorious friends ever since. The camaraderie was thick, the facial hair, scruffy as Conan joined White for the rock out segment of the show.
The two ripped it on stage with Jimmy Vivino and crew, playing "Twenty Flight Rock," an Eddie Cochran oldie from 1957. The duo played the song together before, and recorded previously on White's Third Man label.
Check them out if you missed it, or just to see them a second time, reaching over and fooling with each others guitar during the song like giddy little kids.

The premiere of Conan on TBS went about as expected; fired-up crowd for the intro, a monologue of NBC jokes and self-deprecating “canceled” and TBS jokes, and relatively standard interviews with Seth Rogen and Glee’s Lea Michele. It was certainly no radical departure from what we’re used to seeing out of Conan, nor should it have been, and as peoples’ obligatory detailed online reviews of the first show subside over the next week, the show appears destined to join The Daily Show and Colbert as a reliable, throw-it-on-whenever nightly standby. The biggest highlight of the first show, however, came from the musical segment, when Jack White joined Conan (who seemed refreshingly loose and comfortable throughout the first show, not surprisingly) and Jimmy Vivino’s “Basic Cable Band” for a performance of “20 Flight Rock” — when I initially saw Conan strap on a guitar, I assumed some sort of “I Will Survive...

Conan O'Brien relaunched his TV career on Monday night with a stylishly back-to-basics hour that radiated hard-won lessons from his brief stay hosting "The Tonight Show."With his new TBS show titled simply "Conan," O'Brien seemed appealingly stoked yet comfortable in his new home at 11 p.m. Et and on basic cable, originating from a sleek, cozy set with a full moon poised on a seaside backdrop. If there were very few surprises on the premiere, well, how could there have been after the incessant online hype and all the press attention showered on his much-anticipated return? Besides, O'Brien was back with his longtime sidekick Andy Richter and most of his trusty house band members, now led by Jimmy Vivino (and renamed The Basic Cable Band).Even O'Brien's post-"Tonight Show" beard seems familiar by now.But what's important is, the show lived up to its promises.

Fox must feel pretty confident with it's new series 'Bob's Burgers' -- the show hasn't even premiered yet and the network has already placed an order for six more scripts.
According to Deadline, should season 2 get picked up, Fox wants additional scripts in production so it can premiere next fall as opposed to midseason. Fox also ordered eight more scripts of veteran series 'American Dad.'
So far this season, 'Raising Hope' is the only new Fox show to get a back nine renewal order.

From the Huffington Post: Conan O’Brien‘s longtime bandleader Max Weinberg isn’t following him to TBS. O’Brien confirmed Monday that Weinberg won’t be joining him on “Conan,” his new late-night program set to debut in November. Weinberg had been O’Brien’s musical sidekick for 17 years, on both “Late Night” and the “Tonight Show.” “Max has been a huge part of my life for the past 17 years and he is an incredible band leader and musician,” O’Brien said in a statement. “I hope he can find time to stop by the show, sit in with the band and pretend to find my monologue funny.” Weinberg, who’s also the drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, said his time with O’Brien and crew was “a deeply rewarding experience” and that he does “look forward to dropping by.” Guitarist Jimmy Vivino will take over as bandleader,...

HollywoodNews.com: Conan O’Brien spoke about Max Weinberg’s departure as bandleader from his TBS late night talk show in November by praising the musician as “incredible.”
“Max has been a huge part of my life for the past 17 years,” said O’Brien in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, “I hope he can find time to stop by the new show, sit in with the band, and pretend to find my monologue funny.”
Weinberg will be replaced by Jimmy Vivino, a longtime guitarist and keyboard player, in Conan’s band.
Weinberg, who also plays drums in Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street band, exclaimed, “17 years — a lifetime on TV. Conan and I met on a New York City street corner in the Spring of 1993 and my association with Conan, his staff, and crew has been a deeply rewarding experience for me. First, a bit of business: After not getting very much information for a while, we now know a whole lot more about Conan O'Brien's upcoming return to late night. A few weeks ago we learned the title of his new show ("Conan" or "Conaw," depending on your sense of humor) and over the weekend it was confirmed that Max Weinberg will not in fact be coming back as the band leader (that job will fall to guitarist Jimmy Vivino, who regularly filled in for Weinberg whenever he was on vacation or touring with the E Street Band).
Of course, we still have to wait until its November premiere before we know what "Conan" will be like, which is why we must make do with the hosts we have now until then. Luckily, this week is a fine stretch to lose sleep over late night laughs. It all begins on...

Max Weinberg may not be leading the housebound on "Conan's" TBS debut this November.
Jimmy Vivino, who has been the band's guitarist and keyboardist on "Late Night" and "Tonight Show," will step into his shoes, Vivino told The Riverfront Times of St. Louis.
"Now, we're staying in L.A. and I'm committed to that now," Vivino said. "It feels different than when we went out and tried to continue the New York show, because now we're disassociated from one network and starting up with a new one. It's going to be great."
Vivano says Weinberg -- who has been a member of Bruce Spingsteen's E Street Band since the 1970s -- will focus on his other gigs: "Max has his big band out there that has been his dream all his life, kind of a Buddy Rich band. And there's a kid in Jersey that works with him occasionally. A singer-songwriter!

Legendary rock critic Dave Marsh once said of the Fab Faux, "All rock bands want to be like the Beatles; these guys have the nerve to Be the Beatles. Amazingly, they're so good at it you learn new things about the originals." And he's right. The band is quite literally a labor of love that was born years ago out of an elevator conversation between neighbors Jimmy Vivino (Music Director for Conan O'Brien) and Will Lee (bassist for Paul Shaffer's CBS Orchestra on the Late Show with David Letterman). The band encompasses Vivino and Lee as well as drummer/producer Rich Pagano, keyboardist/guitarist Jack Petruzzelli, and guitarist Frank Agnello. The five principals contribute vocals and scads of multi-instrumental chops, most ably augmented by the four-piece Hogshead Horns (which includes alums from the SNL band, Blues Brothers, and Blood Sweat & Tears)...
