- Mercedes Vecino was born on February 4, 1916 in Melilla, Spain. She was an actress, known for La verbena de la Paloma (1963), Currito de la Cruz (1965) and ¿Dónde vas, Alfonso XII? (1959). She was married to José Jaspe. She died on August 28, 2004 in Alicante, Spain.

- Chorus girl and, after WW2, singer in the zarzuela company of Pedro Terol and Marcos Redondo, she became the supporting star of the vaudeville company of Celia Gámez. She was on and off stage during her film acting career up to the 1950s.
- She kissed Armando Calvo in El pobre rico (1942) on screen, and thus revolutionized the film industry in Spain. Until then, the Government censorship imposed a "fondu" in black so that spectators would imagine there was a kiss, but they wouldn't see it.
- After a few years off movies, she did a great comeback in _Dónde vas, Alfonso XII? (1958)_ but her last films were tame comedies.
