Now that Batman: Gotham by Gaslight has opened the door for various other Elseworlds tales to be adapted as animated films, Superman: Red Son will be the first to follow in its footsteps. To be quite honest, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise because the limited series written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Dave Johnson has long remained one of the most popular in the line, not to mention DC fans demanding this become a reality for years.
To briefly sum up what that story entailed for those unfamiliar, what you need to know going into your first viewing of the animated flick is that it explored that possibility of baby Kal-El’s rocket landing in Soviet Russia instead of in Smallville, Kansas. As you can imagine, the Comrade of Steel had a very different upbringing than the hero we’ve come to know otherwise.

DC's animated movie adaptation of Superman: Red Son is almost here. Here's everything you need to know...
Superman: Red Son is the next iconic DC Comics story to get the animated feature treatment, and it's coming very, very soon!
Indeed, the 2003 comic miniseries from Mark Millar, Dave Johnson, and Killian Plunkett, which might just be the best known Elseworlds tale ever, is set land its animated movie in February, 2020.
The original story imagines a world where baby Kal-El's ship crashed in Ukraine instead of Kansas, and then Superman was raised as a Soviet superweapon. It features some of the sharpest Elseworlds design work ever done, adapting the entire Justice League into brutalist Soviet art styles. And it's one of those rare Millar books where the heart is bigger than the shock value of the story.

Last year, despite the fact that the first season of Legends did very poorly in the ratings, TNT renewed it for a second season anyway. The producers have given the series a creative overhaul in hopes of attracting more viewers. Will it work or will the changes alienate the viewers they had? Cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.
Based on the award-winning book by spy novelist Robert Littell, Legends follows Martin Odum (Sean Bean), an undercover agent who can transform himself into a different person for each case. Others in the cast this season are Winter Ave Zoli, Steve Kazee, Aisling Franciosi, Kelly Overton, Klara Issova, and Ralph Brown. Last season castmember Morris Chestnut will guest star in several episodes.

From title changes to the addition of rubber demons, here's a selection of some rather strange movie alterations from cinema history...
The course of film production seldom runs smooth, and even the greatest films can suffer from all sorts of behind-the-scenes problems. For a very recent example, just look at Fantastic Four, a film with which suffered the kind of difficult production that will no doubt inspire books on the subject in the near future.
At any rate, the movies on this list are all examples of strange (and sometimes last-minute) changes, often imposed by producers or executives. In some unfortunate cases, the changes haven't been particularly beneficial, but one alteration turned out to be a pioneering moment in cinema history.
In every instance, the changes are unusual, surprising, or sometimes downright baffling ...

John Singleton is poised to be the next filmmaker to make the leap to television, as FX has picked up the pilot for Snowfall, a show co-created by Singleton. The press release had this summary of the series.
Los Angeles 1981. A storm is coming and its name is cocaine. Snowfall is a one-hour drama set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. The story follows three characters on a violent collision course: Franklin Saint, young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo Zapata, a Mexican wrestler turned gangster in search of his American dream; and Logan Miller, a prominent family’s “black sheep” desperate to escape his father’s shadow.

It’s not exactly who killed Laura Palmer, or what happened to Mulder’s sister, but the question of what happened to Melinda May that earned her the reputation of being a one woman army is one of the unknown mysteries of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Although we know the broad strokes of how Agent May became known as “The Cavalry,” any threat of the episode named after her becoming somewhat anticlimactic was washed away thanks to a solid script that plausibly tied together flashback action and the story in the present day. It also allowed Ming-Na Wen to put on an acting clinic as we watch May transform from a talented agent and wife eager to start a family, to the steely face of determination and dependability.
May’s problem in the present is the secrets that Coulson’s been keeping, a second life he’s been leading as Director of S.

The following contains spoilers from the Season 6 premiere of "Sons of Anarchy." Don't read if you don't want to know.
When we left off, "Sons of Anarchy" was pure chaos. Tara (Maggie Siff) was headed to prison, Clay (Ron Perlman) was framed for murder, Jax (Charlie Hunnam) was becoming the type of club president we all hoped he wouldn't and, most importantly, Otto (Kurt Sutter) lost another body part. Rest in peace, Otto's tongue.
Fast forward a bit and you come across Season 6. With only two seasons left to complete his vision, Sutter is bent on making the story of "Sons of Anarchy" as deeply disturbing as possible, and the premiere, "Straw," does just that.

On tonight's Sons of Anarchy, the show lays to rest one of its most popular characters, biker with a soul Opie, after his shocking prison murder. Winter Ave Zoli, who plays Opie's wife, Lyla, tells us what to expect on Tuesday night's episode and previews the direction her character will take.
Winter, whose porn star character Lyla married Opie (Ryan Hurst) in the season four premiere, but later separated from him when he discovered she'd secretly been taking birth control pills, says of Tuesday's episode, "[It's] about mourning Opie -- how the club and family deals with it, and in particular Lyla, how she deals with it."

Danny Trejo stars in Bad Ass. Check out this new poster from the action film. I think I prefer the first poster we added on for the Craig Moss film, scripted by Moss and Elliot Tishman, still, this one's no slouch. Sons of Anarchy's sexy ladies Winter Ave Zoli and Kristen Renton spoke to journalists ahead of the explosive episode 6/S4 in FX's number one series. Both ladies portray porn girls from the late LuAnne's Cara Cara days. Zoli's Lyla is a 'Sadie Sadie married lady' now to Samcro member Opie, and Renton, well, not so much. She's a homewrecker, heartbreaker type. "Sons of Anarchy" airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific only on FX. We spoke to the women (along with several online journalists) regarding the upcoming major dramatic arcs for their characters.Monsters and Critics: Full disclosure, I.ve seen next week.s episode so no spoilers, but I know what happens, and my question for Kristen...

Lyla and Opie got married on the fourth season premiere of Sons of Anarchy. But there's a certain aborted secret between the pair that will create major tension later this fall.
They'll "definitely be dealing with their relationship and their issues," Winter Ave Zoli told me over the phone, offering little more about how Lyla's abortion and Opie's hopes for another child will come to the forefront on a future episode.
Zoli didn't think she'd even be on the show at this point. She was initially brought in as a guest star for two weeks, maximum. But the actress said Kurt Sutter approached her about a relationship with Opie that might lead to additional five episodes. That was many episode ago.
Now, she shares almost all of her scenes with Ryan Hurst, who Zoli describes as "a gentle soul and a very nice guy."
She also finds herself in a controversial storyline,...

So firstly something of an apology is due. For those following the coverage of Season 3 currently airing in the U.K on Five U.S, you’ll have noticed the reviews being mysteriously absent from the site over the last few weeks. Thanks to Channel 5s scheduling clashing with the U.S premier of the brand new season, the decision was made to focus on the new episodes rather than a season that first aired almost over a year ago.
With that out of the way, so begins our weekly coverage of FX’s brand new season of their superb biker drama – with Samcro’s prodigal son Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) planning to finally leave the club for once and for all. A mix of macho action and almost Shakespearian drama, Sons Of Anarchy continues to be an excellent show with gripping storyline and great performances...

Sons Of Anarchy continued this week, following two great shows with something a little more average. It wasn’t a terrible episode; in fact it featured some of the highlights of the season so far. There were just a handful of trite moments that let down an otherwise strong episode.
So lets start with the good.
I absolutely loved the cameo of horror icon Stephen King as a eccentric cleaner named Bachman; called in by Tig (Kim Coates) after the accidental death of Nate’s (Hal Holbrook) carer Amelia (Monique Gabriela Curnen). After riding in on a Harley, we then see him feeling up the corpse and paying particular attention to the breasts. He might not be the world’s best actor, but King managed to make his brief scenes the memorable high point of the episode.
There was also a significant Creepshow vibe going on,...

A spoiler image of "Sons of Anarchy" season 4 has landed online via Entertainment Weekly. The photo gives a sneak peek to Opie (Ryan Hurst) and his soft-core porn star girlfriend Lyla (Winter Ave Zoli) who tie the knot. While the bride wears a traditional wedding gown, the groom stays true to his style with the biker outfit.
Also captured in the image is Charlie Hunnam's Jax who stands next to Opie. Though the image does not have Jax as the main focus, it reveals his new hair cut. The vice president of Samcro is apparently trading his long blonde locks with sexy-short do in the upcoming season.
"Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter recently took to his site to announce a new promo which features quick glimpses of action as well as romantic scenes. Despite his continuous effort to promote the show, the executive producer is not sounding optimistic...

First, there was The Gravedigger. Then, Gormogon. Now, Bones‘ Booth and Brennan will go up against… a “tech-savvy foe”?!
Doesn’t sound too menacing, but details surrounding Bones‘ Season 7 big bad have surfaced and he (or she) sounds spooky.

Nathan tells TVGuide.com this “nefarious character” will surface at the end of Episode 6 — aka Emily Deschanel’s final episode before her maternity leave. Once the actress returns for new episodes, “We will follow [the new villain] for a...

Just because FX’s Sons of Anarchy focuses on bikers and baddos, doesn’t mean the criminally underappreciated drama from Kurt Sutter can’t feature its share of soft and fuzzy moments. If you’re a member of Samcro, how do you get married? In your cut , of course.
EW has offered up a still of the highly anticipated Season 4 bow of FX’s Sons of Anarchy. Opie (Ryan Hurst) and Lyla (Winter Ave Zoli), who ended the third season with their engagement, will have their wedded bliss in front of the Samcro gang. You’ve got to love how there isn’t a tuxedo or any type of suit in sight; these biker boys keep it real even when it comes to life events.
While television weddings can typically be sappy, don’t expect things to be all roses for the troubled couple: Lyla had a little abortion that she didn’t tell Opie about and that will weigh on her conscious. Sons of Anarchy is only about blood and gore. The show has a lot of heart, too, and it will be on display at the outset of season six.
On the season premiere, titled "Out," look for Opie and Lyla to get married, as pictured here:
All is not perfect in this union, however, as Winter Ave Zoli (Lyla) tells Entertainment Weekly:
''Last season Lyla had an abortion without telling Opie, soo now it's on her conscience.''
Pick up the latest issue of EW for more on SoA and other shows.

Taryn Manning has come a long way from life in Charming. After starring as Half-Sack’s girlfriend Rita in Sons of Anarchy Season 1, Manning went on to be a series guest-star on Hawaii Five-0 as Mary Ann McGarrett.
Now, Manning is scheduled to make major moves in 2011, starting with the cover of Playboy Magazine. Just one month after Samcro’s Winter Ave Zoli took over the cover of Playboy, Manning gets her own cover shoot with a decidedly more rock ‘n roll look with a touch of metal lace.
Playboy won’t be Manning’s only stop after reprising her role on Soa during the Season 3 Belfast journey. Manning has six movies scheduled for 2011 release: 513, The Speed of Thought, Man Without a Head, Five Good Years, Manson Girls and The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.
Check out the cover below. How do you think Manning stacks up against her Samcro counterpart Zoli?...

Winter Ave Zoli plays Lyla, a porn star turned motorcycle club sweetheart, on Sons of Anarchy. But, more importantly, she plays Opie’s (Ryan Hurst) rock. Lyla’s the girl who saved Opie’s soul when he lost his wife Donna to a Samcro misunderstanding. Opie loves her, but he doesn’t love her job.
That’s on TV. However, sometimes life imitates art, even in the most minute way. In March, Zoli will be on the cover of Playboy Magazine. She’s got the body for it, and she’s got the attitude. It’s a very edgy but tasteful spread, involving ropes and leather straps. With the new promotion in Playboy, expect Zoli to take on an even bigger role in Sons of Anarchy Season 4, as Lyla and Opie become more intimate (emotionally, they got the sex part out of the way early on). People love horror movies about psychiatric hospitals. It's one of those things that's hard to screw up because it's something that is just scary on principle--like clowns... or AIDS. Abandoned hospitals with broken down lobotomy chairs and hydrotherapy baths, mmm now that says creepy. Psych 9 however completely ruins that delightfully creepy atmosphere and turns it into a backdrop. It turns what could have been an original and stylish stab at the closed down mental hospital into a messy and ridiculous explosion of stupid.
Cary Elwes and Sara Foster star as two strangers connected in a recently closed down hospital. Rosalyn, A young, unstable woman who works the nightshift experiences a chain of events that lead her to believe that the hospital is connected to a string of murders. To reveal the truth...

Pennsylvania beauty, Winter Ave Zoli, who plays Opie's girl Lyla on the FX series "Sons of Anarchy," is featured on the cover and in an eight-page nude pictorial in Playboy.s March issue. .The fact that I seem to play only porn stars, prostitutes, courtesans and various other sex-compromised women is sort of a running joke in [my] family.I.m nothing like that in real life,. says Winter Ave Zoli, who.s best known for playing Lyla on showrunner Kurt Sutter's critically acclaimed series, "Sons of Anarchy." Winter's portfolio was shot by photographer Marlena Bielinska. Born in Pennsylvania, Winter moved to the Czech Republic when she was 11 and began her ballet and musical theater training soon thereafter.
