Bruce Springsteen is in his acting era. The Boss joined Larry David on Sunday’s episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. In the episode, Springsteen blames the cancelation of one of his “farewell” shows on David giving him Covid.
During the episode, Springsteen meets with David to talk about the cranky comedian’s activism in Atlanta. (This season, David is awaiting trial in Georgia for offering water to a voter outside of a polling place.) After a brief discussion about restaurant health inspection grades over breakfast, the singer and David find...

Few experiences in rock compare with seeing Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in New Jersey. That’s why fans from all over the globe descended on East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium on Aug. 30, Sept. 1, and Sept. 3. Anticipation ran high because seven years ago they delivered some of the most memorable nights in history of the band at the same venue, culminating with a four-hour extravaganza that spotlighted Springsteen’s first three albums.
At that point in time, Springsteen was still grabbing signs from the audience and playing “Stump The Band.

After a two-hour-plus main set that slammed home themes of mortality and impermanence and the way of all flesh, Bruce Springsteen reemerged on Madison Square Garden’s stage Saturday night, April 1, for his usual lengthy encore, and announced “something special for New York City.” He pointed over at Soozie Tyrell, who began a dead-on recreation of one of rock’s few canonical violin melodies, over piano from all-time-great arpeggio purveyor Roy Bittan. They eased the E Street Band into the 11-minute-long, 48-year-old mini-rock-opera “Jungleland,” played and sung with enough muscle...

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band continue to pile up postponements to their 2023 tour as the group’s third-straight show has been pushed “due to illness.”
Soon after the tour kicked off in February, Covid quickly hit E Street as band members Steven Van Zandt and violinist/singer Soozie Tyrell missed Texas gigs after testing positive; saxophonist Jake Clemons and half of the E Street’s touring backup singers also missed subsequent dates.

Very good news for Bruce Springsteen fans. Springsteen and his E Street Band have added 18 cities to their U.S. leg of the tour, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The news comes as a relief to fans upset over the initial schedule that excluded any West Coast dates.
The newly added shows for the North American leg of the tour kick off on August 9 at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, running through December 8 at San Francisco’s Chase Center. Multiple nights have been scheduled for Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park (August 16 and 18), New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium (August 30 and September 1), Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena (November 14 and 16) and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum (December 4 and 6).

Covid has hit E Street as Bruce Springsteen was forced to play Dallas Friday night without some key band members due to coronavirus.
On just the sixth show of Springsteen’s 2023 North American tour, the E Street Band were without guitarist Steven Van Zandt and violinist/singer Soozie Tyrell (missing her second straight show). Patti Scialfa, who missed some concerts this tour but played others — including Tuesday night in Hollywood, Florida — was also absent, without explanation.

Bruce Springsteen makes his directorial debut in upcoming musical documentary Western Stars.
Bruce Springsteen was wrong when he predicted his legend on an outtake from Born in the USA. The Boss knew his "life would be immortalized." Not in some major motion picture or great American novel, though. His wife figured he was worthy of a "TV Movie." It seems he's getting every kind of movie except an After School Special. Gurinder Chada's new film Blinded by the Light projects an E Street presence onto a coming-of-age movie. Warner Bros. will release the upcoming Bruce Springsteen musical documentary Western Stars in theaters this fall. The film will make its world premiere at September’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Bruce Springsteen’s new album Western Stars is here and with it, a new video for the title track. Springsteen and the backing musicians from the album play the song in a bar, crosscut with scenes of Bruce driving a vintage Chevrolet El Camino though the West, roaming the desert and gazing out at the vast landscapes.
The song tells the story of an aging actor that was once shot by John Wayne on screen (“That one scene’s brought me a thousand drinks/Set me up and I’ll tell it for you,...

There have been times throughout Bruce Springsteen’s career when California has called. He named a song for the state after his parents moved there in 1971, and he’d return to it, in life and writing, repeatedly, chasing his dreams like Steinbeck’s Tom Joad. Western Stars (out June 14th) is the latest visit: a lushly orchestrated set of throwback, country-tinged folk pop that, despite some resemblance to previous works like Nebraska and The Ghost of Tom Joad, sounds like little else in his catalog. Frankly, its sheen is off-putting at first.

Bruce Springsteen has just released “There Goes My Miracle,” the second single from his upcoming LP Western Stars. Like the first single, “Hello Sunshine,” it’s heavily influenced by 1960s/1970s California pop artists like Glenn Campbell and Burt Bacharach. The song is reminiscent of some of the lusher moments on Springsteen’s 2009 LP Working on a Dream. “In the past I was very often interested in making sure the band was a very tough rock band,” he told Rolling Stone...

Bruce Springsteen took a page out of the Taylor Swift playbook by dropping a video for his new single, “Hello Sunshine,” onto the Internet exactly at midnight. Springsteen doesn’t appear in the clip, which shows an old car with New Jersey plates traveling through the desert.
He spent all week teasing the release with cryptic photos of desert landscapes on his social media accounts, and on Thursday morning he revealed that his new LP Western Stars — his first album of new, original songs since 2012’s Wrecking Ball — would come out on June 14th.

Sunrise, Fla.: "Don't make me come out there and slaaaap that tan off ya." Bruce Springsteen's warnings to potentially restless crowds tend to have a local flavor. In September 1995, he began his tour in support of The Ghost of Tom Joad by telling a Los Angeles crowd to turn off their cellular phones. Here at the 3,968-seat Sunrise Musical Theater, in early December, some 100 shows later, he's still asking for quiet. What's changed is that a show he admits was initially "austere" is now a kaleidoscope of jokes,...
