Started in the business as Nick Reed's assistant in the mopic lit department at ICM in Beverly Hills. Worked several years for Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner as an assistant and then development executive from 1996 through 1999 at their Paramount-based production company. Apprenticed for three years under executive producer Nena Rodrigue at Touchstone TV (a division of ABC and the Walt Disney Company) where they shot six pilots. Then headed feature and tv development for Paramount-based producer Kerry McCluggage, former Chairman of the Paramount Television Group, where he worked on the feature reinvention of the Star Trek franchise. Scouted independent films for indie distributor Allumination Filmworks and ran point for Allumination's partnership with the Slamdance Film Festival. Partnered with Glen Reynolds at Circus Road Films which consults with independent filmmakers.
Currently, working with emerging filmmakers and content creators via his own company, Savant Artists. For over a decade now, he's also been teaching classes about the art and business of film at USC, UCLA, and National University. His classroom Q&A's with many leading filmmakers inspired his decision to create an interview series on the web called The Insiders (so everyone could benefit).
