Tyler James Williams is making waves in the hit sitcom Abbott Elementary — but he’s been in the entertainment industry a long time. Williams started acting when he was just a toddler, and by the time he was a teenager, he was a show business veteran, eventually landing the leading role in the TV series Everybody Hates Chris. For four years, while the show was on the air, Williams was able to flex his comedic chops, proving what he could do — and making a fantastic salary while he was at it.

Taking a cue from Marvel and DC, the battle between Autobots and Decepticons will be continued in a spinoff film in the winter of 2018. Everyone’s favorite little yellow Autobot, Bumblebee, is getting the first title. Although little is known about the movie at this point, Paramount has released the first official image from the film—Bumblebee (see below).

This Sunday is Mother’s Day. A day to celebrate and remember the special, intelligent, strong and beautiful women in our lives.
In cinemas now (opening in St. Louis on May 13) is The Meddler, written and directed by Lorene Scafaria. The filmmaker helmed one of our favorite movies of 2012 – Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World. (Review)

Scafaria’s latest film stars Susan Sarandon, Rose Byrne, J.K. Simmons, Cecily Strong, Jerrod Carmichael, Lucy Punch, Casey Wilson, Michael McKean and Jason Ritter.
With a new iPhone, an apartment near the Grove, and a comfortable bank account left to her by her beloved late husband, Marnie Minervini has happily relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles to be near her daughter Lori, a successful (but still single) screenwriter, and smother her with motherly love.

At the gala luncheon held today, the Publicists of the International Cinematographers Guild (Iatse Local 600) announced that Hammond won. (Like it would have killed you flacks to give it to both our guys?) Pete now becomes only the second journalist to win this award twice. Deadline TV Editor Nellie Andreeva was nominated last year. And, believe it or not, I was nominated in 2008. (Everybody immediately thought it was a hoax.) What an incredible showing for our small staff! Deadline is very proud of all our nominees and this year’s winner. Other winners were announced in four categories: the Les Mason Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor they can bestow on one of their members, went to Heidi Schaeffer, vice president Pmkbnc Public Relations; the International Media Award...

This weekend Hollywood was responsible for Los Angeles’ recent major road closure as the production of Walk Of Shame stopped traffic – literally! – inspiring the term Shameaggedon. The comedy, starring Elizabeth Banks, James Marsden and Gillian Jacobs, currently in production in Los Angeles closed the roads due to filming – taking over the 710 Freeway from the 10 Freeway to the Valley Boulevard exit. The road closures lasted over six hours both Saturday, February 2 and Sunday, February 3.
Written & directed by Steve Brill (Without A Paddle, Mr. Deeds), Walk Of Shame stars Banks as an aspiring reporter whose dreams of becoming a network news anchor are compromised after a one-night stand with a handsome stranger (played by Marsden) leaves her stranded in downtown Los Angeles without a phone, car, ID or money – and only 8 hours to make it to the most important job interview of her life.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Martin Sheen and Sally Field seize The Lizard‘s skateboard In this The Amazing Spider-Man clip you get to see The Lizard — well, at least his silhouette. Much more in evidence is Emma Stone, who hides under a desk (I think) so as not to be detected by the long-tailed intruder. Do things go as planned? Well, have you ever watched a movie in your life? Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man trailer "This life is not an easy one," says Andrew Garfield / Peter Parker in this latest The Amazing Spider-Man trailer. (Please scroll down.) "I’ve made enemies,” adds Parker / Garfield. “Powerful enemies. I’ve put those I love in danger. But the one thing that has haunted me my entire life is finding the truth about my parents." One of Peter Parker’s (aka Spider-Man’s) enemies is The Lizard (Rhys Ifans). Another is Emma Stone’s father, who has 500 cops looking for poor Peter. With The Lizard, the monolithic Oscorp Corporation, and the useless cops after him, what’s a DC superhero to do? Call Marvel’s The Avengers? Nope. Come and get the truth about his parents. The Amazing Spider-Man: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone Watching the new The Amazing Spider-Man trailer, it’s hard — make that impossible — not to compare it to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, another summer 2012 movie based on comic books, featuring a distraught superhero, terrifying villains, and a major attack in New York City aka Gotham City. So, which one comes out on top, Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne / Batman or Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker / Spider-Man? Well, perhaps both, depending on who’s watching. Whereas Warner Bros.’ somber-toned The Dark Knight Rises is clearly aimed at a more adult crowd, The Amazing Spider-Man’s distributor Columbia Pictures / Sony Pictures is apparently after the teenage and pre-teen crowd — notice the brighter colors, juvenile humor, emphasis on action and explosions — with just enough psychological conflict to let us know The Amazing Spider-Man is not all about big kabooms and funky costumes.

As is to be expected with Michael Bay movies, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is jam-packed with a lot more than his patented brand of eye-popping action sequences. The movie is two hours and thirty-seven minutes, after all, so even with all the Autobot vs. Decepticon fighting action, there is plenty of room for an actual plot and, more importantly, a ton of fun Easter eggs for the most perceptive fans out there.
In addition to all the "Star Trek" nods, Bay and company have cleverly inserted five "Transformers"-specific Easter eggs in the film. Thanks to the eagle eye of Splash Page editor Rick Marshall, along with his extensive "Transformers" knowledge, MTV News is proud to provide you with a few key things...

For those who've seen "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," there is so much going on in the film that one could spend the next 12 months breaking down all the dirty details. We've already tackled the nods to "Star Trek" and the "Transformers"-specific Easter eggs, so today we turn our attention to one of the film's most impressive action sequences: the part when evil Decepticon Shockwave sends his massive, spinning, snakelike destroyer after our protagonists, who become trapped in the upper stories of a tall building. The Transformer proceeds to cut the building in half, leaving our heroes no option but to jump out of the windows and slide down the outside of the building to safety.

If there's one thing audiences can count on going into a Michael Bay-directed "Transformers" movie, it's that there will be action, action and ... more action. With each new installment, Bay has upped the ante, delivering crazier robot fights and more death-defying stunt work. And while those stunt sequences are fascinating to watch, they come with a certain amount of strain and stress for the actors who perform them.
Speaking specifically of the wire work required of his cast during filming of the third installment, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," Bay has previously joked that star Shia Labeouf was a "grump" about working in harnesses. So we asked Labeouf to address that point during a recent sit-down. His detailed...

“The Dilemma” — Ron Howard, Vince Vaughn and Kevin James had a rare misfire with this dramedy about a man who discovers his best friend’s wife is cheating on him. The critics didn’t like its combination of broad humor and pathos, and audiences responded to the tune of “only” $48 million, likely annoyed by the marketing that led them to believe it would be a slapstick farce. But boasting strong support from Jennifer Connelly and Winona Ryder, the script offers a realism and a maturity that is oftentimes missing from comedies that aim to appeal to the lowbrow and is worth a second look.
“The Green Hornet” — Despite the fact that the critics weren’t entirely on board, finding it one-note and misguided, “The Green Hornet” grossed almost $100 million domestically. Starring funny guy Seth Rogen as the titular superhero, the film aimed for a mix...

Tim Hill, director of “Hop” and formerly head writer for “SpongeBob SquarePants,” has a proven track record of creating animated productions with a broad appeal.
In “Hop,” the Easter tradition is threatened when the Easter Bunny’s heir apparent — the young E.B. — runs away to pursue his own musical ambitions rather than follow in his father’s chocolate-egg-delivering footsteps. The family comedy combines live action with seamless CG animation, as well as a fairly eclectic cast that includes James Marsden, Russell Brand, Kaley Cuoco, Elizabeth Perkins, Hugh Laurie, Gary Cole and the man or myth that is David Hasselhoff.
Besides his television work with Nickelodeon and Disney, Hill’s directorial CV includes “Muppets from Space,” “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks.” Naturally, Hill majored in French literature with a focus on French cinema at Berkeley. He says the disparity between...

Chicago – The latest “It” girls and guys have been collected for the “Meeting of the Marketed Movie,” the showcase for the latest actor brands. It’s titled “The Roommate, “ and Leighton Meester (”Gossip Girl”), Cam Gigandet (”Twilight”) and Minka Kelly (”Friday Night Lights”) lead the way.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
The film is obviously being used to display these beautiful and hunky thespians to the next generation of filmgoers, and despite being shoehorned into a dull, redundant psychological “thriller,” the make-up artists and hair stylists have done their job.
Minka Kelly, despite looking like she’s in her mid-twenties, portrays a bright-as-a-penny college freshman named Sara. She is a fashion designer about to be mentored by Professor Roberts (Billy Zane), a perfect combination for the University of Los Angeles. On her first night, she luckily connects with party girl Tracy (Alyson Michalka), and celebrates heartily at a local fraternity, where she also hooks...

How to spot when a new roommate is a bunny boiler: They’ll say whack statements such as, “Clubs aren’t my thing”; prefer their full name to a fondly bestowed shortening; be an only child — and a rich one — probably from Pasadena; they’ll dig creepy art; and, very occasionally, they may bring you coffee …
As that list suggests, it isn’t that easy to spot a psycho roommate, and it’s doubly difficult if you’re Sara (Minka Kelly), the all-round good girl with a blind spot for weird vibes. Sara’s the loser in the college roommate lottery when she lands Rebecca (Leighton Meester), who arrives late on the first day and never fully gets over missing that first party.

Chicago – “The Green Hornet,” which could have been titled “The Seth Rogen Show,” is an uneven mix between a stroke of comic book genius and a self-righteous attempt at being both comedy and drama. The untidy story is wrapped inside a messy box that’s a portion of what it successfully is and what it should have been.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
Despite some common comic book traps such as a son with daddy issues, the collaboration of director Michel Gondry (“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Be Kind Rewind” and “The Science of Sleep”) with Seth Rogen (the star, writer and executive producer of “Pineapple Express” and “Superbad” and the star and producer of “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Knocked Up” and “Funny People”) partially pays off. Strong emphasis is placed on the partially.
This film serves as a one-man show for Seth Rogen while Jay Chou as Kato – the real superhero – is constantly underappreciated.

Director Michel Gondry may have been a late addition to the “Green Hornet” crew, replacing Stephen Chow when he departed the project over “creative differences,” but his involvement with the property predates that of star Seth Rogen and his co-screenwriter Evan Goldberg. It even preceded Gondry’s first foray into filmmaking, “Human Nature,” in 2001. In fact, Gondry had signed on to helm “Green Hornet” at Universal as far back as 1997.
“It was pretty much my first project in Hollywood,” Gondry says, though, to be fair, “The Green Hornet,” now being handled by Sony, still could be considered his first studio project in Hollywood.
“Human Nature” failed to connect with critics or audiences, but Gondry followed up with another collaboration with co-scribe Charlie Kaufman, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” an inventive exploration of memory and romance that captured the imagination of moviegoers and Academy Award voters alike.

Already a two-time Emmy winner, Kathy Griffin earned another two nods (Outstanding Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Special) yesterday when the ballots were announced. We checked in with the My Life of the D-List star, who took time out of a drop-in visit from Flipping Out’s Jeff Lewis to talk to us about the nods, her competition, and what we can expect from her speech if she wins. (For inquiring minds, her celebrating mother is still on her first box of wine.)

The sixth season of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List starts next Tuesday, June 15 at 9:00 Pm. Yeah! We love Kathy and we're so counting the days until she's back. We had the chance to sit in on a panel discussion a few weeks back with Kathy and her "team" Tom and Tiffany. The no holds barred actress and comedian revealed a few tidbits about what to expect this season.
Q: Kristin Chenoweth guest stars this season. What was it like working with her?
Kathy: Kristin Chenoweth is so [expletive] cool, and she's a Christian who thinks I'm funny, which has never happened. So somehow she's like a forward-thinking Christian, and I very much appreciate that she was on My Life on the D-List because I like to make fun of the Jesus, but she brought the heat. She was great.

The blockbuster-making explosions enthusiast also revealed they've done away with the highly criticized "dorky comedy," named the film's new villain and promised a solid ending to the trilogy.
"One thing we're getting rid of is what I call the 'dorky comedy,' " Bay told USA Today on Thursday (June 10). "So the twins, the two bumbling, slang-spewing robots? They're basically gone," he said, and singled out actor John Turturro (Agent Simmons), who will provide comic relief for the film.
Loyal fans of the '80s source material will be excited to learn that the film's villain is Shockwave,...

Now that Casey has finally hooked her wagon to Cappie on Greek, it's time for her to — you guessed it — meet the parents! Caroline in the City herself, Lea Thompson, has been cast as Cappie's free-spirited mother, April, while Jim Abele (24) will play his non-conformist father, Tobias. "Meeting his parents will have a big impact on Casey," says a Greek insider, adding that the modern-day hippies will appear during the second half of the show's upcoming 10-episode cycle (debuting Jan. 25). Do you pledge to support Greek's decision to hire Thompson and Abele as Cappie's parents? Rush to the comments section with your answer!
