Netflix has another hit show in the works called “Adolescence.” This limited crime drama promises to be totally intense! The four-part series is being made by actor Stephen Graham and writer Jack Thorne. They started filming in Yorkshire, England last summer and it should come to Netflix in 2025.

“Adolescence” follows a family going through some major drama after their 13-year-old son gets charged with murdering a girl from his school. What makes this show different is how each episode will be filmed. The whole episode will play out in one continuous shot, like watching everything unfold in real-time. It kinda reminds me of the movie “Boiling Point” by Philip Barantini, who’s actually directing “Adolescence” too.

Stephen Graham (Boiling Point, Bodies), Ashley Walters (Top Boy) and Erin Doherty (The Crown) have joined the cast of Netflix’s real-time, one-shot crime drama, ‘Adolescence.’

Joining them in his first major role for television is Owen Cooper, alongside Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones), Christine Tremarco (The Responder), Mark Stanley (Happy Valley), Jo Hartley (After Life) and newcomer Amélie Pease. Warp Films, Matriarch Productions and Plan B for Netflix produce the series.

The four-part series tells the story of how a family’s world is turned upside down when 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is arrested and charged with the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school. Stephen Graham will play Jamie’s father and ‘appropriate adult’, Eddie Miller. Ashley Walters stars as Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe and Erin Doherty is Briony Ariston, the clinical psychologist assigned to Jamie’s case.

Philip Barantini’s latest one-shot project Adolescence has just gone into production and will star Stephen Graham. More on the project below.

2021’s Boiling Point was a raving success for writer-director Philip Barantini. The film, shot all in one take, followed Stephen Graham’s hard-headed chef Andy on one of the busiest nights at his restaurant, Jones & Sons. The film, which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, spawned a series which aired on BBC in late 2023.

Now, Barantini is moving away from Jones & Sons and into a new project, currently known as Adolescence, although that might change. Barantini is directing all four episodes of Adolescence for Netflix while Graham is credited as the creator and writer with Jack Thorne. The series has now gone into production and is filming in the UK.

The series reunites Barantini with Graham, but the pair are joined by a very starry cast.

Jim Wiseman’s Sky original documentary “Williams and Mansell: Red 5” is set for a debut on Sky Documentaries and Now on July 8. Featuring some of the biggest names in F1, it follows Nigel Mansell and the Williams Racing team’s rise to fame told through the eyes of his team, family and drivers including Jenson Button, Damon Hill and Karun Chandhok.

Mansell grew up in England in the 1960s, dreaming of becoming a professional race car driver, despite not having the financial means for it, while Frank Williams was realizing his own dream at the company he founded, Williams Grand Prix Engineering. The two joined forces, and after years of trying to win together, Mansell left to join Ferrari and then ultimately retired from racing after years of ups and downs, without ever winning the Formula One Drivers’ Championship. But seemingly overnight, he came out of retirement and re-joined Williams Racing.

The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself star Nadia Parkes is leading the BBC’s upcoming drama about the terrifying kidnapping of British model Chloe Ayling.

Parkes will portray Ayling in six-parter Kidnapped [working title], which was revealed by Deadline in April, and she is joined by Adrian Edmondson (Rain Dogs, A Spy Among Friends), Nigel Lindsay (The Capture, The Salisbury Poisonings), Olive Gray (Halo, Rose), Eleanor Romandini (The White Lotus, Il Nostro Generale), Julian Swiezewski (The Passing Bells, Krucjata) and Christine Tremarco (The Responder, Casualty). Further casting will be announced in due course.

Based on Ayling’s book, the series follows her abduction in Italy and subsequent bravery and resilience in captivity, followed by a court case that put her kidnappers in jail. Yet despite their convictions, Chloe faced headlines accusing her of faking her own kidnapping, and found herself at the center of a media storm.

We’ve reached the halfway point in this new ITV drama starring former Doctor Who, Christopher Eccleston, and the dramatic moments of the previous instalment hang heavy throughout Safe House episode three.

During part two’s denouement, we were introduced to new character Gemma Underwood. And then we were quickly unintroduced to her as she was murdered by the villain of the piece, Michael Collersdale (played very devilishly by Peter Ferdinando). Her link to the ongoing events with the Blackwood family (who have been stashed away in the lake district in the titular safe house along with Eccleston’s Robert after an attack by Collersdale) is revealed - she’s the sister of mother Ali (Holby City’s Nicola Stephenson).

Vinnie Jones joined the cast of the film, alongside Sean Cronin, Nicole Faraday, and Sarah Alexandra Marks.

Andrew Jones and Emily Coupland serve as producers for North Bank Entertainment, with Robert Graham executive producing. Independent Moving Pictures and Hood & Co are financing the production.
