Chillerama introduced the world to a number of things, from sex-hungry ghouls to man-eating semen, but perhaps the most memorable segment in last year’s anthology hit is Tim Sullivan’s I Was A Teenage Werebear. The hybrid of Rebel Without A Cause and Beach Blanket Bingo (with a little bit of s&m) is a hilarious musical that goes over the top to a sweet tune. Now the tunes featured in Werebear are available in a limited edition soundtrack that, despite being on the market less than 24 hours at this point, is already causing waves.

New horror movie anthology The Theatre Bizarre caused something of a ruckus when it screened at a film festival in Oldenburg, Germany, last September. The specific source of said ruckus? A segment called “Vision Stains” in which a young woman uses a hypodermic needle to transfer fluid from the eyeballs of her murder victims to her own ocular apparatus so she can “see” their memories.
“It was the first festival we played that wasn’t a genre festival,” says David Gregory, who produced the film and directed one of the segments, along with Richard Stanley (Hardware), Douglas Buck, and the “Vision Stains” -making Karim Hussein,...

Douglas McKeown made one movie, and it was 1983′s Deadly Spawn, a film that tells the story of alien parasites devouring the population of a small town in Jersey. Interestingly, Tim Sullivan, a mere production assistant on Spawn, would go on to direct Detroit Rock City, as well as last year’s genre smash Chillerama. Rumor has it that Sullivan kept a prop head from Spawn, eventually giving it to Gene Simmons as a gift. Anyway…

It’s the last night for the Kaufman Drive-In and a quartet of rare horror and exploitation movies are on the bill. Directed and written by Adam Rifkin, Adam Green, Tim Sullivan and Joe Lynch, Chillerama is an ode to a bygone era where you could pile all of your friends into a car and catch a bunch of movies cheaper than you can probably watch a single movie now.
I am not the biggest fan of horror-comedies, because so few of them get it right in my eyes. And yes, horror and humor can go wonderfully together, but it’s a very delicate balance. This movie however is more of a lowbrow comedy with a lot of body fluids thrown around… a lot. Anthology movies are always a hard sell, and Chillerama doesn’t do the genre any major favors.
The film’s opening is in black and white.

Chillerama, the genre-defying anthology from Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Adam Rifkin, and Tim Sullivan, was one of 2011′s most celebrated releases, breathing life (and injecting something nasty) into the gasping omnibus format, while offering the kind of pure drive-in experience countless others have aped but never quite found the formula for. Myth grew around the film as the foursome spent the summer making their way across the country “roadshowing” their baby to live audiences, complete with interactive Q&A after each screening, before unleashing the beast on DVD and Blu-ray at the end of they year.
Tim Sullivan, the man responsible for Chillerama’s “I Was A Teenage Werebear” segment, as well as a host of other recent genre favorites, has assembled an extremely limited edition Chillerama DVD package to howl for.
For a mere $20 you will get the following:

Piranha 3D director Alexandre Aja will helm the big screen version of Joe Hill’s second novel, Horns, for Mandalay Pictures. Hill, by the way, is the oldest son of best selling author Stephen King. There is hope that the film will be shot this coming summer.
After Steven Soderbergh jumped ship from Warner Bros. big screen adaptation of the classic 60s TV spy series The Man From U.N.C.L.E due to ‘creative’ differences, and George Clooney exited as well, the studio scrambled to find a replacement. The movie has been stuck in developmental hell for some time, and there was a possibility the film could get shelved again. Now word has come that Guy Richie will helm the film. It is likely that this will be his follow-up to Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows. As for casting, it seems every hot male actor under the sun is being sought.

Guest poster Tim Sullivan shares the making of a head shattering scene in the recent festival hit, I Was A Teenage Wearbear.
One of the highlights of I Was a Teenage Werebear, mysegment of Chillerama (hitting the streets this coming Tuesday, November 29th where all brand new flicks are sold, rented, downloaded, illegally pirated etc… ) is a scene in which I, as the lecherous Coach Tuffman, have my head squashed by conflicted student Ricky O’Reilly (played by Sean Paul Lockhart) in rebuttal to my ‘generous’ offer to do for Ricky what ‘my wife will never do for me…”.
It’s a moment designed to be the first really big gross out moment of the film. The gasp inducing “Oh, no, they didn’t!” kill scene equivalent to the ‘Drawn and Quartering’ of the lovely Miss Pussy (Gina Marie Heekin) in 2001 Maniacs, and the ‘Buzz Saw Halving’ of siren Alana Curry in Field of Screams.

What I find most stunning about Why Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' May Save the Music Industry isn’t the staggering amount of money that’s
generated around Mother Monster. It’s that at the top of the article there’s a picture of Lady Gaga surrounded by brand logos she works with – Polaroid, Estee Lauder, Spring, Virgin Mobile, and… a rainbow flag. Gay is a brand now?
A high school sophomore who challenged Tea Party favorite Michelle Bachman to a debate on the Constitution has been getting death threats for her trouble. Some of those “real Americans” are even threatening to rape her.
Should we be boycotting straight weddings on principle, even for our oldest friends? Probably not unless we don’t want to have any friends. But we can definitely shop at the low end of the registry.

Although the late John Cassavetes set a sterling example of a director who also acted in films that he didn't direct, and Alfred Hitchcock set the bar for directors who stubbornly insisted upon making cameos in their own movies, today's living directors seldom hit such heights in their own attempts to make a tidy living from an acting side gig. For purposes of this list, I'll be discussing a handful of directors who think they can act rather than actors who have subsequently progressed to directing. The latter are in plentiful supply, but the former make up a short list of men who, for better (and mostly worse) have decided that the camera just can't spare their visual presence.

We’ve been sitting on our hands with this one for a few weeks (we actually were on set so stay tuned for that report soon), but given the buzz currently surrounding filmmaker Tim Sullivan’s latest splat-stick effort "I Was A Teenage Werebear" (his recently wrapped segment of the anthology film Chillerama; see our exclusive on that here), we thought it time to mention his involvement with the decidedly different-in-tone Orlando Entertainment feature, the grisly shock "doc" Cut/Print.
Long known for the outrageous horror-comedy films 2001 Maniacs and 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams (as well as his hosting duties on the VH1 "Scream Queens 2" reality series), Sullivan has shifted gears in his collaboration with lead filmmaker Vince Orlando, producer Jeff Burton and director Nathaniel Nose. In less than a week is Labor Day, traditionally the end of summer for many Americans, though the official end is not until Sept. 22nd, the date of the autumnal equinox. Time for fun in the sun is drawing to a close. I’d like to recommend some horror stories and nightmarish novels to give you some chills for the few hot days left in 2010.
Let’s start with some downloadable stories in audio form, and begin with some of the classics. These are all free (they’re in the public domain), and will remind you of some of the greatest monster movies ever made.
The first is “The Picture in the House”, a story by the influential horror author H. P. Lovecraft. With themes of cannibalism and insanity, it reminds me of Hannibal Lecter of Silence of the Lambs, of the mad clan in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and...

Fey's series, 30 Rock, was handed 22 Emmy nominations this morning, which stands as a record for a comedy series. She and Alec Baldwin were also nominated for acting awards. Plus, for the first time some of the other actors on NBC's laffer were recognized. Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and Tracy Morgan all picked up supporting nominations.
MacFarlane's Family Guy was also nominated for best comedy series, the first time an animated show has cracked that category since The Flintstones in 1961. Two years ago MacFarlane decided to pull his show from contention in the animated series category to have it considered for best comedy.
