Something about Sullivan's Crossing reminds me of the good old days of The WB.
Everwood and Gilmore Girls were two of my favorite shows, and I still think it's a travesty that the former didn't get to continue when The WB merged with Upn to form The CW.
The CW was looking for a show to harken back to those good old days, so acquiring a series featuring Scott Patterson and Chad Michael Murray was a smart move.
Sullivan's Crossing Season 1 Episode 1 throws us straight into the deep end, taking us into the world of Maggie Sullivan as her life is upended and she's forced to leave her big city life behind to return home.
It isn't a groundbreaking concept by any stretch of the imagination, but it does serve up some vintage small-town drama.
The best part of "Coming Home" was its ability to make me care for all the characters.

Chad Michael Murray is standing on a dock in a waterfront small town, sparking with a pretty but kind of emotionally standoffish woman. No, this isn’t One Tree Hill, but the Canadian drama Sullivan’s Crossing, which made its Stateside debut on The CW on Wednesday. Whether you love them or hate them, one thing is certain: we can't stop talking about the royals.
The royals are a hotbed for scandals and intrigue, none more so than the love story, controversy, and polarizing notoriety surrounding Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
Lifetime is back with Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, the sequel in what has become the Harry & Meghan trilogy following Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance and Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal.
We've witnessed the sordid ordeal of these royal renegades unfold before our eyes and make headlines over the years, including that infamous, scathing Oprah Winfrey interview and the royal couple's retreat to the States.
The film, picking up a few years into their marriage, will explore the difficulties Harry and Meghan faced at the palace among the royals and balancing that with parenthood to baby Archie.

Lord, it's taking a while to connect the dots.
The Sullivans and the police took their investigations in separate directions on The Disappearance Season 1 Episode 4.
What they haven't pieced together yet is what's become obvious to the viewers: the shunned baby resulting from Maggie getting raped by Jason Dodd is the person who kidnapped Anthony, as a way of getting back at the Sullivans.
Luke and Catherine were trying to track down their adopted half-brother, going from birth forward.
Susan and Cooper were investigating Steven Price, starting back with his days at St. James Orphanage.
Sadly, there's just been no connection made yet between the two searches.
We did finally get the sad story of the baby that resulted from the rape of Maggie Sullivan by Jason Dodd.
After hearing the tale, it was simpler to understand why that grown child might blame the Sullivans for his difficult life.
