Founded the National League of Families, a support and advocacy group
for the wives and children of prisoners of war.
Co-authored the book "In Love and War," which detailed their years
apart during Vietnam and became a television movie in 1987.
She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor's Degree in Religion in January 1946, and earned a Master's Degree in education from Stanford University in June 1959.
