When he’s not busy delivering rallying speeches about the importance of family in the Fast and Furious series, you’ll likely find action veteran Vin Diesel working to establish a handful of other franchises beyond the realm of street-racing and ten second cars.
Between them, Riddick, xXx and The Last Witch Hunter all hold varying degrees of cult status among Diesel’s legions of fans, but for his latest creative venture, the actor will be calling upon his producing experience from Fast and Furious. That’s because, as Variety reveals, Vin Diesel is now attached to develop a new procedural drama over at NBC known as First Responders.
Details remain few and far between at such an early stage, but we understand Diesel is on board to produce the hour-long drama via his One Race Television banner. It’s also a new collaboration with Universal Television, where the actor...

NBC has picked up a TV series project from Executive Producer Vin Diesel. It's a procedural drama called First Responders. The series is currently being written and developed by gaming industry vet Jesse Stern, who was a writer on the Call of Duty and Titanfall video game franchises. He has also worked on the TV series NCIS. Variety offers the following story description of the new series:
First Responders is described as a dynamic, high-action procedural about young veterans struggling to reintegrate into society, while heroically saving civilian lives along the way. The elite team is the best Search and Rescue operation in the country, and is run by husband-and-wife duo, Doc and Lil Pierce, whose Southern California coastal base provides a sense of community and surrogate family for their ex-military staff. While Doc and Lil can save anyone else’s life in the darkest times, they have been unable...

It is “looking fantastic,” set for a multi-platform release and now, developer Respawn has confirmed that Titanfall 2 will include a single-player campaign, a feature that was totally absent from the original 2014 release.
That’s according to the sequel’s Lead Writer Jesse Stern, who spoke about the “vision of grand global colonial warfare” that will underpin Titanfall 2 during an interview with Forbes. Firstly, Stern noted that the multiplayer component of the follow-up will be a step up from its predecessor, before acknowledging that the lack of a single-player story was perhaps one of the shortcomings of Titanfall two years ago.
“The multi-player game will be even better than it was the first time around. The first game was an Xbox exclusive (initially). This one is going to be widely available, I believe on all platforms. One of the shortcomings of the first game was we just did not have the...

Jesse Stern, the lead writer on Respawn's 2014 multiplayer mech game title "Titanfall" and its upcoming sequel, says that the company is working on a spinoff TV series says Forbes.
Stern, a former producer on "NCIS," says the series is one of a number of projects Respawn is developing in partnership with Lionsgate TV. The game series, particularly the upcoming sequel, deals with galactic colonial warfare - effectively retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space with giant mechs fighting one another.
The main issue going forward with a TV series based on the property is that it would be prohibitively expensive. Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella is behind the idea, but says: "we are trying to find a way to tell a story in the worlds we want to be in and produce in the TV model."

Mech-based shooter sequel Titanfall 2 is to get a new single-player campaign, and there's also a TV show in the works, its developer says...
Mech-based shooter Titanfall was a sizeable hit for Respawn Entertainment in 2014, with its athletic sci-fi action breathing a bit of fresh air into the Call Of Duty multiplayer format. What that game didn't have, however, was a single-player mode, with Respawn concentrating their energies into establishing the new name as a solidly competitive online affair.
All that's set to change with Titanfall 2, which will include a single-player campaign for the first time. This is according to Jesse Stern, the sequel's writer who recently sat down for a chat with posh financial news outlet, Forbes.
"One of the shortcomings fo the first game was we just did not have the mechanism to tell everyone, 'Here's who you are, here's where you are and who's around you,...

Ryan Phillippe, Breckin Meyer, and Jesse Bradford linked up for a memorable night out at Craig's restaurant in La on Thursday. The actors - who you likely crushed on hard back in the '90s and early 2000s - commemorated their 400th weekly boys' dinner at the eatery, along with a group of guys that included producer Jesse Stern and talent manager Brian Washington. Breckin, Jesse, and Ryan were all smiles while being photographed outside and shared a few group snaps of the fun night on Instagram; one shot, posted by the restaurant's account, showed an upside-down bottle of Casamigos tequila with the caption, "Second bottle down.....its a party." Looks like the George Clooney-owned liquor didn't stand a chance. Keep reading for more photos of Ryan and Breckin's boys' night out, and be sure to check out the 20 types of swag that Ryan Phillippe possesses.

Early in the campaign of Battlefield 4, a marine deals with an attacking dog by punching it right in the face. This is a not-so-subtle jab (well, more of a right cross) at rival series Call of Duty, whose upcoming Ghosts features a canine companion. Ever since Activision’s cash cow started breaking sales records annually, Electronic Arts has been increasingly determined to grab a piece of the military shooter pie with its Battlefield franchise. Battlefield 4 offers more explosions, more destruction and more multiplayer options than ever, and it certainly can go toe-to-toe with any Call of Duty. But you can...

NCIS star Michael Weatherly knows how fortunate he is to be taking his first turn behind the camera on TV’s No. 1 drama, with a supportive family-like cast he’s worked with for eight seasons and a crew he’s now able to appreciate in a whole new light. “I’ve been spoiled and forever ruined for any other experiences,” he says. If your head is still reeling, and your heart still pounding, from last night’s episode of NCIS, you’re not alone. The first episode in the two-parter exploring the history between NCIS Director Vance (Rocky Carroll) and Mossad Director Eli David (Michael Nouri) was info- and action-packed. Fan favorite writer Jesse Stern has spent all season working on these two hours. Last night, we watched as Eli ventured off Israeli soil for the first time in 12 years to attend, in-person, Vance’s review of international case files with contributions from all living NCIS directors (Rip, Jenny). Despite efforts to pry serious NCIS spoilers out of Michael Weatherly with martinis, Entertainment Weekly did not get too many earth-shattering details from the actor.
The magazine did, however, get some good quotes out of him regarding his contract (he expects to be back) and what's to come May 25. Sounds like quite an episode.
Below are some excerpts from Weatherly's interview:
On the season finale:
I feel as if Stanley Kubrick is in charge of our season finale. There’s a sense of dread that permeates the last several episodes, specifically surrounding the Gibbs story.
His crisis, which it really is, throws everything that you might expect Gibbs to do in certain situations out the window. He's in a spot outside the Gibbs comfort zone.
Michael Weatherly (right) has high praise for Mark Harmon (center).

It'd be tough to imagine NCIS without Tony Dinozzo's sense of humor and pop culture references, not to mention the Tiva tension, the Gibbs slaps, and the sibling-esque rivalry with McGee. But if all goes according to plan, fans of TV's No. 1 scripted series won't have to. Earlier this week, we sat down with Michael Weatherly in New York to chat about his contract negotiations for Season 8, as well as May 25's season 7 finale (sadly, one martini does not produce spoilers).
