- Sirry Steffen was born on May 29, 1938 in Iceland. She was an actress, known for The Crawling Hand (1963), Hitler (1962) and Inter Nos (1982). She was married to Stefán Bjarnason and Porkel Valdimarsson. She died on February 1, 2020 in Selfoss, Iceland.

- After winning Miss Iceland, she was in the very first Miss International contest that was launched in 1960. Sirry competed against 51 other national winners in Long Beach, CA. She won 2nd runner up and the title of Miss Photogenic. Miss Colombia was the winner, with Miss India as 1st runner up. Shortly after her reign was over, Sirry moved to California in 1960 to pursue an acting career.

We landed together at the airport, where she had not been allowed to board the plane she was going to take because she had her dog with her. The friendliest woman - but was rather offended that she was not allowed to have the dog with her, because she thought she was famous enough for it.
