Mad Men's return to steaming later this month will include a disclaimer about the show's use of blackface.
On Wednesday, July 15, all seven seasons of Mad Men will stream for free, with commercials, on the Amazon-owned IMDb TV.
Variety is reporting that an episode of Mad Men Season 3, titled “My Old Kentucky Home” will have a disclaimer at the top of the episode.
The aim of the message is to offer context to viewers about a scene in which John Slattery’s Roger sings the anti-slavery ballad “My Old Kentucky Home, Good-Night” while wearing blackface.
“This episode contains disturbing images related to race in America. One of the characters is shown in blackface as part of an episode that shows how commonplace racism was in America in 1963," Variety reveals the disclaimer will say.

The former Spike TV officially rebranded as Paramount Network, just this month. While the cable channel is keeping some of Spike's more popular reality series, it is also amping up its scripted offerings. The Waco TV show is a limited event series, which recounts the tragic events of 1993, involving the Atf, the FBI, and the Branch Davidians of Mount Carmel, outside Waco, Texas. As a mini-series, cancellation or renewal chances aren't why we're tracking the Waco ratings. Instead, we want a benchmark against which we can measure other scripted TV series on the fledgling Paramount Network. A six-episode drama, Waco stars Michael Shannon, Taylor Kitsch, Andrea Riseborough, John Leguizamo, Melissa Benoist, Paul Sparks, Shea Whigham, Rory Culkin, Julia Garner, Demore Barnes, Christopher Stanley, and Camryn Manheim. The miniseries saga of Don, Betty, Roger, Joan, Peggy and Bert deserved a terrific finish, and at the end of seven plus one seasons, creator Matthew Weiner delivers in fine style. The agency undergoes a major transformation, but each of our favorites moves on to a thoughtful, better-than-acceptable resolution -- all except for Don. A review of last night's "Mad Men" coming up just as soon as I'm the quick brown fox... "We both know things can't be undone." -Trudy "Says who?" -Pete "Mad Men" has chronicled a period of enormous social change (and taken place in a time of enormous change in television), yet it's often seemed agnostic on whether individual change is possible. Over the course of the series, fashions shifted and opportunities rose for women and minorities, but were the "Mad Men" characters themselves really changing with the times? Peggy has certainly grown, yet we've seen Don and Roger and Joan and others have epiphany after epiphany, only to eventually lean back on their old habits. (And even Peggy hasn't been immune to stagnation in her personal life, even as she's evolved professionally.) If anything, Don's frequent backsliding has been one of the most common complaints I've heard about the series'...

The draw of a period piece is twofold. We can travel back in time to another world, where the style, art, technology and social values differ from our own, and more importantly, observe how those differences, and the characters and locations that exhibit them, reflect on the present. AMC's revered 1960s ad agency drama "Mad Men" not only accomplishes these goals with aplomb, it does so in an entirely original fashion, exploring such disparate elements as civil rights, feminism, office politics, jealousy, hypocrisy, and the very nature of love, possession, happiness, and identity. In 2007, "Mad Men" entered a TV landscape dominated by "American Idol", "Big Bang Theory" and "Gossip Girl". The show's laconic pacing and relatively low-stakes plotting set it apart from a narrative standpoint, especially as its run continued and thrillers like Showtime's "Homeland" and AMC stablemates "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead" drew in more viewers. In its production values,...

A brand new video for ‘Money’ a fast paced techno number from Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film Ugly is out now. The video features scenes from the film which are in-sync with lyrics that talk about the ugliness and self-centered nature of man. The video has a dark theme and shows how money rules human nature.

Ugly ugly hai biwi, ugly ugly hai husband, ugly ugly hai friends U G L Y, ugly ugly hai rishety, ugly ugly hai kishtey, ugly ugly hai duniya U G L Y. These lines penned by Vineet Singh for the title track summarise the world Anurag Kashyap brings to screen with his latest release. However, as always the world he puts on the screen sadly has very little to do with the fact the writer/director is a creative genius, but more to do with the fact that he observes life very closely. The ugly characters, the ugly situations and the ugly relationships are almost too confrontational because they remind you of things in your lives, your friends’ lives or something you’ve read or heard. After all, truth is stranger than fiction.

Mad Men, Season 7: Episode 3 – “Field Trip”
Written by Heather Jeng Bladt & Matthew Weiner
Directed by Christopher Manley
Airs Sunday nights at 10 on AMC
“The f***ing regret. The guilt. These things. Don’t ever let anyone
ever say to you you shouldn’t regret anything.
Don’t do that. Don’t. You regret what you f***ing want.
Use that. Use that. Use that regret for anything, anyway you want.
You can use it, okay?”

Earlier tonight, when I went back to re-watch Don’s Hershey’s speech from last season of Mad Men and looked at it alongside everything going on in “Field Trip,” it took only a moment or two until I started thinking about the first time I saw Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia. Earl’s speech to Phil about regret is something that’s stuck with me since then and is...

Mad Men opened Sunday night with Don Draper filling up time during his unemployment watching 1969 movie Model Shop in which a man dating an aspiring actress falls for another woman in Los Angeles.
Mad Men Recap
After watching the movie, Don (Jon Hamm) gets Dawn (Teyonah Parris) on the phone so that he can ask her to get him typewriter ribbon and to catch him up on what’s going on at Sterling Cooper & Partners. He then takes a phone call from Megan’s (Jessica Pare) agent, who informs him that his wife had a meltdown following a recent poor audition. She ended up stalking the director during his brunch on Sunday and making a scene that included some crying hysterics.
Dutifully taking up the task of damage control, Don flies out to Los Angeles. During their chat, Megan gripes to Don about her lack of immediate success. Don continues...

"Mad Men" is back for the start of its seventh season — which is or isn't the final season depending on whether you value contractual language (which says it is) over scheduling (which will give us seven episodes this spring and seven more next year) — and I have a review of the premiere coming up just as soon as I'm seated next to a man in a hairpiece eating a banana... "Why are you making it so hard? Open the door and walk in." -Lou Avery We return to the world of "Mad Men" a scant two months after our last glimpse, late in January of 1969. It's by far the shortest time gap between seasons, but almost as much has changed in those two months than in the 11 months between the heist of Sterling Cooper and our first look at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. It seems only appropriate given the period.

New York — Who could ever forget the wisdom of the rock band Spinal Tap: "It's such a fine line between stupid and clever."
After watching the season premiere of "Mad Men," I have hit upon my own truism: It's such a fine line between challenging and annoying.
By traditional TV standards, a lousy episode of "Mad Men" is unthinkable. From its cast to its costumes to its rich sensibility, there's always plenty to admire.
But that doesn't get this brilliant series off the hook as it starts its much-awaited sixth season. The two-hour opener was, simply put, a disappointment – even annoying – for how much it demanded from the viewer and how little it offered in return.
What did we learn from the episode (which, written by series creator Matthew Weiner, aired Sunday on AMC)?
Ad man Don Draper (series star Jon Hamm), though still married to his adoring mate...

Is there a more divisive character on "Mad Men" than January Jones' Betty Draper? Everyone on the show has done something less than saintly at some point, but some viewers seem to judge Betty's sins -- she's self-absorbed, petulant, and certainly not a great mother -- as the worst of all.
Whether you love her, hate her or love to hate her, Betty will return in Season 6 and, at a recent Los Angeles press day, Jones says she wishes she could discuss everything that happens in the new season. "It's frustrating ... I get excited to talk about it and can't!" she says about the show's strict no spoilers policy.
But Jones was able to tease that things aren't necessarily going to get any easier between Betty and daughter Sally (Kiernan Shipka), or Betty and her second husband Henry Francis (Christopher Stanley). And while it sounds like Betty and Don's romance is over for good,...

In case you haven't heard, "Mad Men" kicks off its sixth season April 7 on AMC and the promo campaign for the new episodes is in full effect. We've already seen an illustrated poster and a behind the scenes featurette, and now we're getting a look at a few images of the cast in character.
These aren't actual stills from the show -- it's way, way too early for that -- but they may provide a few hints about what's to come. It's probably safe to assume we'll see more of Alison Brie ("Community") in her recurring role as Pete's wife Trudy Campbell. And there's sure to be drama between Don (Jon Hamm), Megan (Jessica Pare), Betty (January Jones) and Henry Francis (Christopher Stanley), although it's anyone's guess what kind and how much.
Instead of taking shots in the dark, we'll just let you check out the pics.

Kathryn Bigelow’s film about the top-secret hunt for Osama Bin Laden has been appropriately shrouded in mystery, with very occasional intelligence leaks — Gandolfini is Panetta! There might be a prequel! — offering a slow tease in advance of the movie’s mid-December limited release. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. That's what Warner Bros. is realizing, as the studio has to find room on its release calendar for two high-profile and star-driven potential Oscar contenders this fall. Warner Bros. announced late Monday that it would release Ben Affleck's "Argo" on Oct. 12, while simultaneously moving the Ryan Gosling-led "Gangster Squad" -- previously scheduled for that day -- to a later date in 2012.
Directed by Affleck, "Argo" tells the true-life story of a bizarre rescue mission during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. Affleck also stars, alongside Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Kyle Chandler (Coach!), Chris Messina and "Mad Men" co-star Christopher Stanley (Henry Francis). The film is based on a Wired article, which told the story of how the CIA used a fake sci-fi film to procure the hostages. George Clooney is a producer on "Argo," which was initially scheduled for a Sept.
