Some 25 productions have shot in the region in Saudi Arabia over the past 18 months.
Neom, a futuristic megacity being built in northwestern Saudi Arabia, has announced its anticipated incentive for productions in the region that consists of a cash rebate of at least 40.
The rebate will apply to feature films, TV drama, reality series and documentaries as well as commercials, with producers able to secure a higher percentage based on their “industry development contributions”.
These contributions include elements such as hiring of local production crew and investment in infrastructure, such as set building that can remain behind for use on future projects.

From Assassin’s Creed to The Witcher, via Mass Effect, Minecraft and maybe more Warcraft...
Latest update: Uncharted delayed.
In the years since Den Of Geek first sprung into existence, we’ve consistently kept an eye on the videogames that have been touted for the big screen treatment. We’ve tried to list them all in a big article a few times before, and it feels like the time has come to pull a new version together.
If we haven’t heard anything about a certain videogame movie in two years or more, it seems safe to assume that it’s quietly been binned. That’s why you won’t find the likes of BioShock, Devil May Cry, Far Cry, Gears Of War, Halo, Heavy Rain and Rollercoaster Tycoon on this list. If we get proven wrong on any of those, we’ll update this article as more information comes to light.

The Sean Daniel Company and Platige Films have announced plans for a film adaptation of "The Witcher," the Andrzej Sapkowski fictional work which inspired the popular and acclaimed video game series of the same name.
Oscar-nominated Tomasz Baginski ("The Cathedral"), who directed the opening cinematics for the first two games in the series, will helm the film based on a script by Thania St. John ("Grimm," "Chicago Fire") .
Specifically the story will be based on the short stories "The Witcher" and "Lesser Evil" from "The Last Wish" collection and will also serve as an introduction to Geralt the witcher, a nomadic monster hunter for hire.
The plans for the property are huge. The film is being tipped to serve as the beginning of a television and film series with the first movie set for a world premiere in 2017. Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Jarosław Sawko and Piotr Sikora will produce.

It looks like The Witcher is getting its first major motion picture adaptation. Read on to find out the details.
Over the years, there have been many video game movie adaptations with many of them failing to succeed. However, the next video game adaptation looks to have more of a chance, mainly because it's based on a book.
Unknown to many casual gamers, the Witcher was based on a series of novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. The movie series will look to pull from these books, as well as the games, to create a new movie franchise.
However, what many Witcher fans may groan about is that the developer of the Witcher Video Game Series, CD Projekt Red, doesn't look to have any ties to this film. However, that isn't to say it won't follow the series. In fact, all the same characters will be in this adaptation, including the main character Geralt of Rivia.

For the scope and scale of CD Projekt Red’s recently-released RPG masterclass Wild Hunt, there’s still plenty of lore buried within The Witcher IP, which itself links back to the adorned fantasy novels penned by Polish scribe Andrzej Sapkowski. It’s a resource-rich pool of all of the double-crossing bandits and powerful dynasties that the genre is celebrated for, and The Sean Daniel Company – production house behind The Mummy and Paramount’s Ben-Hur remake – is keen to mine that source material with a live-action adaptation of Sapkowski’s sprawling series.
News comes by way of an official press release from Sdc, with a tentative release date now in place for 2017. Remaining true to the roots of the property itself, the studio is primed to work in tandem with Polish production company Platige Films on the video-game-to-movie project, who has referenced HBO’s Game of Thrones as a model for success.

The final results are in for the WGA West’s officers and Board of Director elections, and nothing has changed at the top. Why would it? The election had almost no challengers. With the voting period concluding yesterday at 12 Pm, incumbent President Christopher Keyser, incumbent VP Howard A Rodman and incumbent Secretary-Treasurer Carl Gottlieb are all keeping their jobs. Pulling in 1,217 and 1,201 votes, respectively, for their positions, the unopposed Keyser and Rodman were re-elected with 100% of the vote. The nominee picked to run against Keyser turned the offer down, and VP challenger Timothy J Lea withdrew from the race. The little-know Keyser was first elected to the Wgaw leadership two years ago when he defeated Patric Verrone. Although the guild’s constitution doesn’t permit unopposed races, it was still fulfilled, union sources tell me, because the second Presidential nominee declined and the second VP candidate did run even though...

There’s a big surprise today in the Writers Guild West‘s 2013 initial list of election candidates: the scribe selected to run against incumbent president Christopher Keyser declined the nomination. That means, unless someone else can be convinced to run, Keyser right now is running unopposed. He was a newcomer to Wgaw leadership first elected two years ago when he defeated the polarizing Patric Verrone. Even back then, in 2011, few people stepped forward to run for the presidency: insiders told me that was because of great apathy. Suspense is back – this episode contains enough of a twist to entertain. Yeah, the appearance of Nick Chinlund with his X-Files/Buffy/rent-a-villain credentials firmly in place was a bit of a giveaway, but the writers manage enough sleight of hand to keep his part in the story an entertaining surprise.

So far in the series, most of the drama has centered around Nick and his problems in keeping the two sides of his life – the cop side and the Grimm side – separate. It’s fun to meet a monster every week, but to keep us tuning in, the writers have to find a source of tension they can sustain from episode to episode. They’ve done this by constantly putting Nick in situations where his status as a Grimm might be revealed – usually to his partner Hank – and this episode plays this card again, this time by once again involving Munroe in helping the two cops run down an escaped convict who is out for revenge and having Nick, Hank, and Munroe all have to interact with each other,...

Early in the episode, Nick is trying to access a tweet from a cloned phone, but the suspect using the phone is cautious and has found a way to block the signal.
‘Can you get round it?’ Nick asks Sergeant Wu.
‘Of course I can.’ Wu replies, tapping at his keyboard, ‘I’m Asian.’
Grimm has avoided the whimsy trap, but it could still go the way of Person of Interest and become a police procedural with window dressing. The solution is a cast of supporting characters who are worth watching just for themselves (Reggie Lee’s interpretation of Wu is ‘Officer Sulu before his first coffee of the day’) and enough quirky and gruesome detail to make the storylines satisfyingly rich and interesting. This review may contain spoilers. In another fine turn of the pen by Thania St. John, this week's episode of "Eureka" on Syfy was a frothy concoction of fun sprinkled with poignancy. It felt a little like Alice falling down the rabbit hole, but eventually, the solution was revealed to be, not a murderous corporate-drone worried about job security and the scarcity of government funding or even the miraculous super-absorbent diapers, but rather irradiated syn-water (synthetic water). The only evil going on was the failure to properly shield the water during the radiation testing being conducted on Kim 2.0 in order to extract her data. In the midst ...

SpoilerGuy here with some Eureka spoilers for you. Eureka has just returned to the newly minted SyFy channel, and if you are not watching this little show – well, you should be. Eureka is a staple of the SyFy lineup and was – correct me if I'm wrong – loosely based on the visual themes of a group of commercials created for the network in 2005. Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Jordan Hinson, and Joe Morton – who played Miles Dyson in Terminator 2 – star in Eureka, with Ferguson even taking over Directorial duties from time to time. Eureka is good, clean episodic SciFi fun. Period. Now here are the titles for the rest of season 3 of Eureka.
