- She was awarded the M.B.E. (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's Honours List for her services to dance.
- She started giving dance lessons in air raid shelters during WWII, and continued to teach until age 93. After the war, she taught dance classes in village halls around Kent.
- She taught Prince Rainier and Princess Grace to dance, and choreographed a dance sequence, "Your Mother Should Know", for the Beatles. She taught ballet dancer Rudolph Nureyev how to tango.
