If one thing has been constant when it comes to Skeleton Crew, the series has been quite the victim of merchandise leaks. The latest is no exception, revealing a better look at one character and revealing a completely new one.
As reported by user Star Wars Meg via Twitter, part of the Bag Clip line gives fans a better look as well as the name of a character seen in the first trailer. The character is an Owl-like alien, and it's revealed this person is called "Kim." The other character is brand new. They are the same species as the blue-elephant main character, Neel. The leak has their name as "Jorka," and it's unknown at this time how the person may be related to Neel.

Back in August, a D23 display gave us a first glimpse of the pirate villains who will be introduced in Lucasfilm's next Disney+ Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew.
We larned that Vane - The Pirate King Gorian Shard's Nikto right-hand man from season 3 of The Mandalorian - will lead this motley bunch, and he'll be joined by a Shistavanen, a Gran and a formidable looking droid with a peg-leg.
Now, EW has revealed an official look at these pirates, as well as their character names and which actors will be playing them.
The crew will consist of: Vane (Marti Matulis), Gunter (Jaleel White), Brutus, Pax (performance artist: Mike Estes), and Chaelt (Dale Soules).
Check out the new image at the link below, along with another look at Jude Law as the mysterious Jod Na Nawood, who co-creator Christopher Fored describes as a "whole new kind of Jedi."

While we’ve seen pirates in Star Wars before, it sounds as though they will be more heavily featured in Skeleton Crew. “With the era we’re in, we’re kind of getting to play with that lawless thing,...

Spoilers for all of "Orange is the New Black" ahead.
"Orange is the New Black" is among the most important shows of the 2010s. It was not only one of the first series to establish the binge model as a viable release format — for better or worse — but it was also groundbreaking thanks to its diverse cast and the massive range of storylines it juggled at any given time. At its best, the show was riveting, funny, heartfelt, and bold. At its worst, it was still a fun time.
Most notably, few shows have ever felt so distinct from season to season. Season 1 was the fun fish-out-of-water comedy centering firmly around Piper (Taylor Schilling). Season 2 was a riveting prison drama centered largely on the Black inmates like Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Poussey (Samira Wiley), and Suzanne (Uzo Aduba). Season 3 was a surprisingly relaxed, lighthearted period, while season 4 took a brutal turn in the other direction,...

There’s a great beating heart at the center of Lucy Kirkwood’s The Welkin, making its American debut after an ill-timed January 2020 premiere at London’s National Theatre. Fans of Sandra Oh’s masterful work on Killing Eve and Grey’s Anatomy won’t be surprised to find her bringing the same kind of acerbic warmth and casually razor-sharp intelligence that Eve Polastri and Dr. Cristina Yang shared to Elizabeth Luke, an 18th-century English midwife who finds herself wrapped up in a murder trial. Even churning butter, which Oh approaches with a ferocious purposefulness, Lizzy still has lots of bite.
The accused is Sally Poppy (Haley Wong), a maid who skipped town with a ruffian only to come back home to her husband drenched in the blood of the young rich girl she used to serve. She’s already been found guilty of murder, but she’s “pled the belly.

Only midwife Lizzy Luke (Oh) is prepared to defend the girl against a mob baying for blood, matrons wrestling with their new authority and the devil in their midst.

Anne Hathaway, similar to her character Patricia in Rebecca Miller’s “She Came to Me,” has dealt with being a perfectionist.
“I think perhaps in the earlier part of my life, I believed a little bit more in perfectionism,” Hathaway told Variety at the New York screening of “She Came to Me” on Tuesday night. “[Patricia] thinks that if she can just do everything right, she’ll protect the people who she loves from having bad things happen to them.”
Set in New York, the rom-com follows composer Steven Lauddem (Peter Dinklage), who is creatively blocked just weeks before the deadline for his latest commission. At the urging of his wife and former therapist Patricia (Hathaway), he searches for inspiration and finds it in Katrina (Marisa Tomei), a thrill-seeking tugboat captain.
Hathaway and director-writer Miller discussed bringing nuance to Patricia, a seemingly put-together, type A wife and mother on the verge of mental collapse.

Adventure has a name, and it's Rip Digman. Andy Samberg stars in the new Comedy Central animated series "Digman!" beginning on March 22 (watch the trailer here). The former "Saturday Night Live" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star lends his voice to a heroic Indiana Jones-esque archaeologist who was once the best in his field. But following the death of his wife over a decade earlier, not to mention a shocking betrayal by his sidekick, we find Digman washed up, out of shape, and over the hill. Even the national news mocks Digman's shortcomings and fall from grace. Yes, in this world, the news is always reporting on archaeologists as if they're celebrities or superheroes, and they're always taking cheap shots at Digman.
Joined by an eager, bespectacled assistant named Saltine, and encouraged by his elderly, raspy-voiced receptionist Agatha (Dale Soules of "Orange is the New Black"), Digman tries to get his life...

Although Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear movie received fairly positive reviews, it had trouble finding an audience, and it became one of Pixar’s few box-office bombs. Lightyear only grossed $226 million worldwide, which isn’t great when you consider the film’s $200 million price tag. While speaking with The Wrap, Pixar Animation Studio’s Cco Pete Docter reflected on what happened to Lightyear.
“We’ve done a lot of soul-searching about that because we all love the movie,” Peter Docter said. “We love the characters and the premise. I think probably what we’ve ended on in terms of what went wrong is that we asked too much of the audience. When they hear Buzz, they’re like, great, where’s Mr. Potato Head and Woody and Rex? And then we drop them into this science fiction film that they’re like, What?“

“Lightyear” has landed … on VOD and Disney+.
The latest Pixar adventure imagines the movie that Andy watched in 1995 that inspired his love of the Buzz Lightyear character. “Lightyear” is a rip-roaring ride, with this version of Buzz (now voiced by Chris Evans), attempting to rescue a community of colonists from a hostile planet, after their ship crash lands and their fuel cell is damaged. Combining hard sci-fi with the kind of emotionality you expect from a Pixar movie, it might have been overlooked in theaters but can find a loving audience at home.
Of course, as with any Pixar movie, “Lightyear” went through some major changes along the way to its final version. Here are some of the versions of “Lightyear” that you’ll never see, with commentary from co-writer/director Angus MacLane and producer Gayln Susman. As Susman said at one point during our conversation, “Trust me, you saw...

Disney and Pixar have announced that their latest animated feature Lightyear will be available for streaming on Disney+ starting August 3rd.
“‘Lightyear’ looks amazing on the big screen, of course, but we are so excited to bring it to Disney+,” said the film’s director Angus MacLane in a statement. “We devoted years of our lives to this film and we are so proud of it. We want to share it with as many people as possible. Disney+ not only gives more fans an opportunity to see ‘Lightyear,’ it gives us all the means to see it again and again.”
A sci-fi action adventure and the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the Toy Story toy, Lightyear follows the legendary Space Ranger (The Gray Man‘s Chris Evans) after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew.

Prequels, sequels, and spin-offs are all the major studios seem to be cranking out lately, and now it’s Pixar’s turn. This time we get Lightyear, the film that Andy saw in 1995, the one that made him fall in love with Buzz Lightyear and want nothing more than a Buzz toy for his birthday. I may be wrong, but I’m not sure there’s much here to inspire any child to want a Buzz Lightyear toy, Andy should have just stuck to Woody.

Infinity isn’t a practical milestone at the box office, so Disney’s “Lightyear” will have to settle for a 20.7 million opening day and beyond.
Pixar’s spinoff of its “Toy Story” series blasted off on Thursday night with a respectable 5.2 million from preview screenings. However, the film is now tracking for an opening in the range of 50 million to 55 million from 4,255 theaters in North America, below the initial expectations that pegged the film for a debut between 70 million and 80 million. What’s more, “Lightyear” is struggling to unseat Universal’s “Jurassic World Dominion” from the top slot of domestic charts during the dino-sequel’s sophomore weekend.
There’s certainly winning ways to look at the “Lightyear” opening, as its projected haul would easily mark the highest debut for an animated movie since the onset of the pandemic in North America. Family audiences have been somewhat skittish to return to...

Lightyear, the new movie from Pixar is (as an opening card now famously tells us) the film that little Andy from the Toy Story movies saw and was so excited about that he received a Buzz Lightyear toy as a gift in 1995.
The movie follows the adventures of space ranger Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Chris Evans) of Star Command, who is piloting a mission alongside commanding officer Alisha Hawthorne (Uzo Aduba) to explore new, potentially habitable worlds.
When an overconfident Buzz accidentally damages the ship and strands it on a planet that is livable but filled with hostile lifeforms, the crew of scientists aboard have no choice but to build a colony on what they call Tikana Prime. Buzz, meanwhile, tirelessly flies test missions using hyperspace fuel, which is the only possible way to get the crew back to Earth.

Pixar and Disney’s Lightyear buzzed to 5.2 million in box office previews before officially opening Friday in more than 4,200 theaters across North America.
Chris Evans voices the iconic Space Ranger in the Toy Story origin spinoff, which marks Pixar’s return to the big screen after seeing several of its animated family films head straight for Disney+ due to Covid-19.
Tracking suggests that Lightyear could secure an opening weekend gross of 70 million to 85 million at the domestic box office (the pic will serve as a key test for the strength of the family marketplace in the pandemic era). Disney and Pixar are counting on Father’s Day to lure dads and their kids to the cinema. Lightyear began rolling out Wednesday in some Imax and premium large format screens before commencing preview screenings in select cinemas on Thursday afternoon.

A spinoff was bound to come out sooner or later. Did we need an origin story to the Buzz Lightyear character from Toy Story? No. But the Lightyear film by Angus MacLane certainly does know how to build a world around the character we only learned about through the Pixar franchise. The film is about a flight, failure and working together to achieve a common goal.
Buzz Lightyear (Chris Evans) is an enemy of time. He is a brave but often headstrong man who doesn’t need help from anyone. This attitude is why, as a Space Ranger, he got a whole colony stranded on a random planet, and they can’t leave because the hyperspace crystal broke. They need a new one to journey home, so the scientist creates a new one, and he has to test it out. He fails on the first try but realizes that he...

“Lightyear,” the 26th Pixar film, has a premise that’s explained by the film’s opening title. It seems that in 1995, Andy, the young hero of “Toy Story,” was given a Buzz Lightyear action figure as a present. That was because he’d seen a Buzz Lightyear movie and loved it. “Lightyear” is that movie.
There are plenty of ways the Pixar wizards could have spun that premise. One imagines a Buzz Lightyear origin story in which he’s a brash young upstart going through flight training. And since Buzz, in his curvy plastic spacesuit with the chartreuse trim and the bubble helmet, is the most futuristic of all the “Toy Story” playthings, one could envision that film unfolding within the most deliriously Pixarian of sci-fi kiddie landscapes.
But “Lightyear,” in its eminently conventional and likable way, is a far less audacious movie than that. As it opens, Buzz is...

Disney-Pixar’s “Lightyear” sees Chris Evans voicing a new version of one of the company’s most famous characters, Buzz Lightyear. First introduced in 1995’s “Toy Story,” Buzz was made famous thanks to Tim Allen’s voice performance across the franchise’s four films, and Evans admitted that taking on the title role was a daunting prospect
“The first time you have to do that iconic line, ‘To Infinity and Beyond…,’ you kind of just do a shameless Tim Allen impression. It’s intimidating,” Evans told Variety senior entertainment reporter Angelique Jackson at the “Lightyear” premiere. “But Angus [MacLane, the film’s director] and everyone at Pixar was so collaborative, and you kind of let them guide you. Eventually you feel comfortable enough to make your own tracks in the snow and find your own interpretation, while still using Tim Allen as the blueprint.”
