When the results were revealed on “America’s Got Talent,” magician Shin Lim squeaked out a win over dance troupe Zurcaroh in the closest vote ever. We had been expecting it to be a tight race between Shin Lim and teen singing sensation Courtney Hadwin but she did not even make the top 5. That this frontrunner loses “Agt” was a shock. Did America make the right choice?
Should Zurcaroh, which was Tyra Banks‘ Golden Buzzer act, have beaten Shin Lim to claim the $1 million prize? And did Courtney deserve to at least be in the final countdown? Vote in our poll below as to whether these results were fair or not.
Following Shin Lim in first place and Zurcaroh in second place, electric violinist Brian King Joseph came in third, stand up Samuel J. Comrie was fourth, and singer Michael Ketterer placed fifth. Besides Courtney, the acts who finished between sixth and tenth places,...

A body found Thursday night is that of missing Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison, police in Scotland confirmed Friday. The body was discovered about 8:30 p.m. local time Thursday (12:30 p.m. Pt) in Port Edgar, Queensferry, just west of Edinburgh, the Scottish capital.
No official cause of death was given. A statement from Hutchison’s family, issued Friday afternoon by Police Scotland, said the singer had been struggling with mental health problems.
“As a family, we are utterly devastated with the tragic loss of our beloved Scott,” the statement said. “Despite his disappearance, and the recent concerns over his mental health, we had all remained positive and hopeful that he would walk back through the door, having taken some time away to compose himself. James Corden is, admittedly, "dear, dear friends" with Matt Smith. And that's why he had no problem sharing an embarrassing story about the Crown actor on The Late Late Show Thursday. Smith was a guest at Corden's wedding five years ago, when the TV host married Julia Carey at Babington House in Somerset. Other celebrity guests included David Carr, Dominic Cooper and Natalie Imbruglia, while Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody sang at the end of the ceremony. When Corden mentioned the wedding, Smith blushed. "Oh, no!" he giggled. "Don't mention the wall!" "You were the star of our wedding in many ways," Corden said, seemingly teasing his pal for drinking too much during the...

Marriage proposals are always a little tricker when you have a 10-year-old involved in the planning. Case in point: Courteney Cox's recent engagement to Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid. McDaid first told Cox's daughter, Coco, that he wanted to marry her mom, the actress explained to Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show Monday night. That led to an elaborate plan that McDaid and Coco hatched together - but which almost went off the rails several times on the crucial night. It was the night of Coco's 10th birthday in June, and they were set to have dinner at her godmother Jennifer Aniston's house.

Sofia Vergara stopped by "The Tonight Show" to promote her new perfume, Sofia, and brought a sample for host Jimmy Fallon. The "Modern Family" star also asked Fallon if they could do a Lip Flip segment, since she was such a big fan of the bit, and always wanted to interview herself. Fallon enjoyed imitating Vergara's accent, while Vergara poked fun at Fallon's bromance with Justin Timberlake. The segment ended with the pair doing a short duet to Gloria Estefan's "Conga."
"The Blacklist" star Megan Boone also chatted with Fallon, though the actress was tight-lipped about revealing anything about the show -- so tight-lipped, in fact, that she momentarily pretended she couldn't speak.

With two and a half months to go until the release of “Epic,” Blue Sky has dropped another trailer for the film that includes a few new reveals -- but quick cuts to ornate nature scenes viewed on a laptop likely don't do justice to their intended 3D glory. Notable changes to the trailer include the switching out of Snow Patrol’s moody “The Lightning Strike,” which accompanied the first two previews. What is evidently Danny Elfman’s score replaces it, and though the music is adequate, its effect on the trailer is somewhat less distinctive. Viewers are treated to Beyoncé’s voice for the first time, sounding appropriately regal as Queen Tara. There’s also an evil shark-face riding atop a mole, leaf people riding aback hummingbirds, and a majestic tree in peril. Some of the story elements are looking so “Fern Gully”/ “Avatar”-esque it has us wondering...

"Just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it's not there."
The first trailer for the upcoming animated fantasy Epic (formerly Leaf Men) arrived in June and offered the first example of the vast yet hidden forest world that director Chris Wedge (Ice Age) had created in his passion project, which he had been trying to make since 2006. Armed with Snow Patrol song "The Lightning Strike" as its driving force, little was heard from the voice cast, with the exception of two comic moments from Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) as a slug and Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!, Dear John) as the human protagonist Mary Katherine. The latest trailer adds more depth while also revealing more from the voice cast (and keeping Snow Patrol around for good measure), which also includes Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell and Johnny Knoxville.

Following the first trailer released back in June, Blue Sky Studios has released a second trailer for their upcoming animated film Epic, scheduled for release on May 24 of next year.
Directed by Chris Wedge, who was behind previous animated hits Ice Age and Rio, the movie is being promoted on the back of Dreamworks’ Rise of the Guardians; the two share a similar fantasy-adventure scope as well as a common source, both being based upon William Joyce novels.
Here’s the official synopsis for Epic:
Epic is a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of Ice Age and Rio, Epic tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good who keep the natural world alive and the forces of evil who wish to destroy it. Blue Sky Studios’ 2013 animated film Epic is based on the book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs, but the first trailer for the movie makes it look like Honey I Shrunk the Kids mixed with Avatar.* Amanda Seyfried voices a human girl who goes into the forest, becomes tiny-sized, and finds herself embroiled in a battle between the armies of the Leaf Men and a gruesome enemy army of Boggans (whose leader is voiced by Christoph Waltz.) The trailer is set to the lovely song “The Lightning Strike” by Snow Patrol which makes it look like an epic...

"We are the Leafmen, protectors of the forest." The first trailer for Blue Sky Animation's Epic (once known as The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs, or just Leafmen) used a Snow Patrol song to great effect with some beautiful animation, and now we get a better idea of the story in this animated, well, epic. Honestly, there are some shots here that are breathtaking, but I'm not sure how the sillier dialogue will play along with it. I like Aziz Ansari as a slug, basically a makeshift Donkey from Shrek, but I'm not sure that kind of character fits in a film like this. We'll find out when the film arrives next summer, I guess. Watch the trailer! Here's the second official trailer for Blue Sky Animation's Epic, originally from Apple: A teenager finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of...

Rating: Not Yet Rated
Release Date: May 24, 2013
Trailer Score: 6/10
Thoughts by Tsr: I suppose showing off some beautiful animation is enough ten months ahead of the release date, but I still wish there was a bit more to this trailer for Epic. A handful of different films came to mind while watching this – such as FernGully and The Secret World of Arrietty – and I wish this had done more to set itself apart. The use of the Snow Patrol song over most of it certainly doesn’t help matters. Instead of showing much that would help indicate the tone the film is going for (other than at the very end when one character speaks), we’re given a bunch of pretty images set to a song that gives them an unearned sense of self-importance.

Soulful guitarist and singer, Jeff Buckley, who was amazing even before you knew about him from that "West Wing" episode, and who mysteriously drowned in 1997 after having only recorded one album, Grace (which every decent American should own), is having a biopic made about him. Through a romance with a young woman working at the concert, he comes to understand the father who abandoned him. Culminating in a cathartic performance of his father's most famous songs, Jeff's debut stuns the audience and launches his career as one of the greatest young musicians of his time."

Sara Ramirez led her "Grey's Anatomy" cast mates in Thursday's (March 30) musical episode and now the soundtrack is available on iTunes.
Also, Ramirez just released her 4 song Ep, which includes "The Story," which is also available on iTunes.
The episode revolved around Ramirez's character, Callie, who got into a car accident with her girlfriend, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). That was the event that sent an extremely injured Callie hallucinating that she and her colleagues who were trying to save her expressed their emotions in song.
A Tony winner for her role in Broadway's "Spamalot," we already knew the girl could sing. But, what about her cast mates? They also showed quite a talent for the musical arts.
Here's a list of all the songs from the episode and who sang them:

Throughout its seven seasons, ABC's medical drama Grey's Anatomy has had few light moments-from the traumas in the hospital to the dramas of their romantic lives. When its creator Shonda Rhimes announced plans for a musical episode last November, many were therefore skeptical about how the Broadway tropes would work on the hour-long show. But Rhimes had a formula to make the episode, which aired Thursday night, work-Grey's used songs from Snow Patrol, The Fray, and similar indie bands that were popularized in earlier episodes instead of trying to go the route of the Great White Way.

The "Grey's Anatomy" music event is finally airing Thursday (March 31) and we'll finally see if Callie pulls through after a car accident that left her with several life-threatening injuries. Yet, whatever happens to her character, Sara Ramirez is still thrilled by the genre-crossing episode.

Coming out on Ryan Seacrest's official blog, the newly-unveiled songs are cover versions of Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" and Brandi Carlile's "The Story".
Those songs which were covered by the cast for the forthcoming episode have been featured before on the past episodes of the TV series. The doctors of Grey's Anatomy definitely know something about both surgery and sex - but do they know how to sing? Viewers are about to find out Thursday, when several of the more melodically inclined members of the cast - Tony winner Sara Ramirez, Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and Chyler Leigh among them - raise their voices in song for a special musical episode of the medical drama. There's no way around the fact that the "Grey's Anatomy" music event airing on Thursday (March 31) on ABC is going to be a tough one for fans.
"The last episode ended in a very big way with Arizona asking Callie to marry her while they're in a car," creator Shonda Rhimes, who also wrote this episode, tells Et. "And then in the very last moment is a car crash and we pick up after the impact of that crash."
Subsequently, Callie (Sara Ramirez) gets horribly injured in the accident when she flies through the windshield. "There's a lot at stake in this episode," Rhimes says. "Callie, there's a lot of injuries that are sustained."

Last week we posted sneak peeks for the upcoming musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, which will be airing on March 31 (view them here). It looks like Callie and Arizona will be getting into a car accident, with Callie taking the brunt of the damage. In fact, the first sneak peek in the previous post shows her suffering significant damage. The musical part comes in with Callie's....spirit, if you will...moving around the hospital as her friends work on saving her.
Now RyanSeacrest.com has full versions of two of the songs from the upcoming episode (which are also embedded below). While the second sneak peek here showed us a preview of cast members singing The Fray's "How to Save a Life", below we have Sara Ramirez singing Brandi Carlile’s “The Story", and Ramirez, Chandra Wilson, and Kevin McKidd singing Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars".

The upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" music event promises to be heart-stopping for the fans and possibly for one of our favorite characters: Callie (Sara Ramirez) along with her unborn baby.
On Thursday's (March 31) episode, we join Callie and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) after a horrible car accident.
"So, before you can even figure out why it is that she asks Callie to marry her," Capshaw tells TVGuide.com. "They're in this horrible situation."
"I don't know how anybody survives that," Ramirez tells the site. "But, I'll tell you something: It's a wake-up call of epic proportions for Callie. What lies in front of her [after the accident] is more than just glass. It's an opportunity to fight for her life and to make sense of why her life, and her life with Arizona, is worth fighting for, if that's the case."

Spoiler Alert: This article contains key plot details from Thursday's musical episode of Grey's Anatomy.
The cast of Grey's Anatomy is wearing Seattle Grace scrubs and small, unseen earbuds. There's blood, there's medical jargon and everyone is ... singing Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars"? While this may sound like a bad Saturday Night Live skit, it's not. Thursday's episode, in which we learn what happened to girlfriends Callie and Arizona after that ominous fade-to-white, is a full-scale musical event, in which cast members sing many of the songs the show has made famous.
"I have been wanting to do it since we made the pilot basically," creator Shonda Rhimes says. "We needed it to make sense for our show. Plus, I had to convince the network, which took me seven years."
Exclusive: Shonda Rhimes reveals Grey's Anatomy musical details
Having a Tony-winning singer-actress in the cast — Sara Ramirez, who won for Spamalot — certainly helped matters.

I don't know a single 'Grey's Anatomy' fan that isn't going through withdrawal. We haven't had a new episode in a month, and the teases and scoops and sneak peek videos have been enough to drive anyone to a rage-filled Seattle Grace shoot-out. (Too soon?)
Never fear because there's finally a new episode this week (Thurs., March 24, 9Pm Et on ABC). I caught up with star Chyler Leigh, the forever in flux Dr. Lexie Grey -- who was last seen showering with sexy Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) -- to find out what's coming next.
First up, there's this week's big baby shower episode for Callie, complete with the typical shower games and, in true 'Grey's' fashion, some major drama.
Then next week we'll finally see The Music Event, 'Grey's Anatomy''s much-anticipated 'Song Beneath the Song' musical episode,...

Sara Ramirez, one of the stars on Grey's Anatomy, once won a Best Actress Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway show Spamalot. So it's no surprise that when Grey's Anatomy decided to do a musical episode they would choose to feature Ramirez as one of the principal singers of the episode.
The musical episode will be airing on March 31 and a "Grey's Anatomy: The Music Event" soundtrack will be released on the same day. The episode will take place in the mind of Callie (Ramirez), who imagines all of her friends and co-workers as part of a musical. Other cast members - including Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and Chyler Leigh - will also be performing.
The song list for the episode will include “Chasing Cars” (Snow Patrol), “How to Save a Life” (The Fray) and “The Story” (Brandi Carlile). Former cast member Kate Walsh, who has since moved...

The Grey's Anatomy musical episode will be airing later this month on March 31. The producers have said that it's not intended to be a spectacle episode, but is supposed to make sense within the overall context of the show.
Grey's Anatomy has a slew of musically inclined actors and actresses among its cast, including Sara Ramirez, Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and Chyler Leigh. The song list will include “Chasing Cars” (Snow Patrol), “How to Save a Life” (The Fray) and “The Story” (Brandi Carlile).
With regards to the synopsis of the episode, the whole thing basically takes place in Callie's imagination. On the verge of some huge life-changing decisions involving Arizona, Callie imagines the hospital and her friends as a musical. Kate Walsh, who plays Addison in the Grey's spin-off Private Practice, will also be returning to Seattle Grace as a guest star for the episode.

The Grey's Anatomy musical event is coming March 31.
It's the episode everyone is talking about (even though there's a new one the week before), and something that's "never been done before," according to Shonda Rhimes.
Basically, it will be an hour-long tribute to the music of Grey's Anatomy, with Sara Ramirez as the lead and the rest of the cast backing her up. It should be ... interesting.
Here's a nice new featurette promoting the episode ...
Grey's Anatomy Musical Episode: Special Preview
With a Tony Award winner in the cast, it's no surprise that she (Ramirez) receives the bulk of the solos on the drama's first musical episode, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
She sings lead on Kate Havnevik's "Grace" and Brandi Carlile's "The Story" and shares lead duties with her on-screen lover, Jessica Capshaw, on KT Tunstall's "Universe & U."
The show will feature nine songs closely associated with the show.

Yes, fans are abuzz with the news of "Grey's Anatomy's" musical episode on March 31. But, what if you're over the "Glee" effect and musicals make you cringe? Jesse Williams, who plays Jackson Avery, says he knows where you're coming from, but you shouldn't worry.

Cast: Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer, Christina Applegate
Running Time: 1 hr 45 mins

The much-anticipated/dreaded Grey's Anatomy musical episode is most definitely on, and now, thanks to TV Line, we have new details on how this comes about.
The episode will be "told from Callie’s hallucinatory Pov," writes Michael Ausiello, and will unfold during a medical crisis involving the unborn Calzonasloan baby.
So ... life and death stakes + hormones + medications = Snow Patrol covers. Awesome?
