The Culpo sisters have always loved putting on shows together. "We would put on synchronized dance routines," Olivia Culpo tells Popsugar, recalling her and her sisters' childhood love of showmanship. "Aurora was always in the middle."
Aurora, the oldest, was "the boss and the scariest, and everything she said went. She was definitely the ringleader," Olivia, now 31, remembers. "Sophie was the baby and just really cute and charming, and I was just stupid me."
Culpo, most well-known for being a model, is taking a walk down memory lane in a karaoke room in a swanky club at Las Vegas's Jbl Fest. She's sitting shoulder to shoulder with her sisters, who are all matching in chic black ensembles. They also speak in sync, almost as if there's a little bit of telepathy flowing between them. "There was always a little competition in the limelight," Sophia, now 26, agrees, echoing her big sister.

Throughout the mythos concerning the character of Bruce Wayne aka Batman, there is a strong theme of predestination. While made explicit in only a few tales of the Dark Knight throughout the character's 84-year existence, there exists the idea that the orphan Bruce Wayne was able to mold himself into the figure of Batman partially because his whole life prepared him to do just that, mentally if not also physically and emotionally.
1995's "Batman Forever," the third in Warner Bros. and producer Tim Burton's series of live-action adaptations of the character, is one of the stories of the Caped Crusader that highlights this theme in a big way. In the film, Bruce (played by Val Kilmer) is troubled by recurring waking nightmares that psychiatrist Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman) deduces are actually repressed memories forcing their way into his conscious mind. In these visions, Bruce recalls the moments after his parents' untimely deaths,...

After being constrained by the responsibilities of delivering a big budget blockbuster with 1989's "Batman," Tim Burton let his freak flag fly for its follow-up, "Batman Returns." The director had proven he could give Warner Bros. what it wanted with his first movie based on the Dark Knight, and returned to helm the sequel on the proviso that he could basically do whatever he wanted. Which, in practice, meant a total rewrite of the script, a lot more of Burton's expressionist aesthetic, and a horror-tinged tone that was perhaps best encapsulated in Danny DeVito's grotesque version of The Penguin.
Burton and DeVito's take on the legendary Batman villain was a deformed figure who inexplicably spewed black bile from his mouth at various points throughout the film, ultimately hatching a plot to drown all the firstborn sons of Gotham. No wonder Mcdonald's was upset.
DeVito, however, had a ball playing Oswald Cobblepot,...

Robin, the Boy Wonder was first introduced in the pages of Batman comic books in 1940, having been created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. The character's domino mask and green-forward costume, as well as his name, were inspired by Robin Hood. In the myth of the comics, the young Dick Grayson was a mere eight years old and worked as a traveling circus performer with his family, aka The Flying Graysons. Dick's parents were murdered by a wicked gangster who had been extorting the circus owners. Orphaned, Dick was taken in by Bruce Wayne and trained in the art of crime-fighting.
As is the natural progression for a comic book character, Robin underwent multiple transformations and iterations over the decades. When Dick Grayson aged out of the role of Boy Wonder (he eventually became a superhero of his own named Nightwing), other younger people, usually teenagers, took on the mantle of Batman's brightly colored sidekick.

Michael Singer had ignored the small lump under his left nipple for months, when he finally decided on a whim to mention it to his doctor during an exam in December 2010.
After a surgical biopsy, Singer returned to the clinic five days later to get his stitches removed and was floored when the doctor said, “Mike, I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but you have stage 2 breast cancer.”
“I thought, ‘No way — men don’t get breast cancer,'” recalls Singer, a retired federal government facilities manager from New York City, now 57. “What in the world is he talking about?...

1997's Batman & Robin needed, for some reason, giant magenta gorillas. Turned out they were made from Santa Claus wigs...
It would be correct to say that very few people pick 1997’s notorious movie Batman & Robin as their favourite Dark Knight adventure. The film wasn’t an outright flop, but the critical slamming it received left the Batman movies in a darker place than usual, and plans for future sequels in tatters. It would take Christopher Nolan’s 2005 adventure, Batman Begins, to bring the series back to life.

Following news that Michael singer had passed away at age 53, the former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” […]...

Gorilla suits in Batman & Robin were made from old Santa wigs. And that cape swoosh? It was some old tarp...
It’s less of a thing now, but in the 1980s and 1990s, major blockbusters were sometimes accompanied by a making-of book. Sure, these tended to be quite glossy and promotional, but they also had to fill 100-200 pages with something. And in the case of Batman & Robin, one of 1997’s two notorious blockbuster flops (Speed 2 being the other), Michael Singer penned a 128 page guide to what was supposed to be the biggest film of the year.
It’s interesting, too, digging in far more detail than you might expect into the technical details. Here are 25 of the things that we found out from reading it…
1. Bob Kane was involved with the script
Batman co-creator Bob Kane is one of the many interviewees for the book, and...

I don’t know how she does it: it was only six years ago that Oprah Winfrey was touting new age nut Eckhart Tolle as the all time genius of the world. He was her spiritual mentor. Winfrey actually ran podcasts and internet classes with the guy who has since quietly vanished from the spotlight. Now, maybe because she’s in her own personal crisis with her Own network, Oprah is pushing a new guru. (She still hawks Marianne Williamson.) This guy is named Michael Singer, author of a book called “The Untethered Soul.” But Michael Singer is indeed better known in his hometown of Alachua, Florida as Mickey Singer. And in 2005 he was indicted in a massive government fraud case against his company Medical Manager Health Systems, which was an offshoot of WebMD. http://www.gainesville.com/article/20051216/Local/212160339 Singer was accused with nine others of inflating Medical Manager Health Systems profits,...

The Film Department, the indie production and distribution company which Mark Gill and Neil Sacker founded in 2007, no longer plans to go public.
The company said Wednesday that it has withdrawn its registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and that it is negotiating with private investors to raise $200 million in equity and debt that will be used to finance the production and distribution of five to 10 films per year.
In charting the new course, the company cited several developments: It has signed a U.S. home entertainment deal with Fox, and it has an output deal, through the Weinstein Co., with Showtime.
The Film Department said that it's improved its financial position over the past 12 months by more than $75 million, by paying off more than $60 million in debt and raising $15 million in additional private equity. In that same period the company has also generated more than...

It has been over a year since I boarded a plane to London to visit the Pinewood Studios set of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Disney's big screen adaptation of the popular video game. It's a one hour ride from our hotel near downtown London to Pinewood Studios. Prince of Persia has taken over the UK-based production studios, currently occupying eight out of ten of the sound-stages on the lot. Our shuttle driver drops us off on Goldfinger Ave, and we enter a building numbered Building Seven. Posters line the walls of every building in Pinewood, showing some of the many movies that have been filmed at the studio. In the lobby of Theater Seven, the posters include Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Hellboy 2, The Mutant Chronicles and Quantum of Solace. It is in this lobby that we meet with Michael Singer, the unit publicist...
