Edinburgh International Film Festival (Eiff) has unveiled its industry programme, running from August 16-19, including a repositioning of the Works in Progress strand as well as a raft of new training opportunities for curators and producers.
This year, the previously UK-focused Works in Progress strand will open up to include both documentary and fiction projects from Ukraine. With support from the British Council and in partnership with the Ukrainian Institute, four Ukrainian project teams will be welcomed to Edinburgh to present their work.

Recently, CBS dropped the new promo/spoiler clip (below) for their upcoming "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" episode 13 of season 15, and it features new looks at some major drama going down when Russell's daughter gets kidnapped and his team tries to rescue her, but gets tricked, and more. The episode is titled, "The Greater Good." The official description for episode 13, reads like this: "The CSI team is going to learn the main suspect in the gig harbor killings, is being released from jail due to a lack of evidence." Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting that the fate of FX's serpentine legal thriller Damages, set to wrap its third season in two weeks' time, is in the hands of DirecTV. "Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that Sony is talking to DirecTV’s 101 Network about partnering on a possible fourth season of Damages," writes Ausiello. "The cost-sharing arrangement would be similar to the one DirecTV and NBC forged with Friday Night Lights, which means future seasons of Damages would air first on DirecTV with a second window on FX." An unnamed source further tells Ausiello that Sony Pictures Television began talks with DirecTV after it became untenable to maintain financing Damages on its own and the studio has engaged in talks with other outlets as well.
