Lucky Louie, Season 1, Episode 6: “Flowers for Kim”
Written by Jon Ross
Directed by Andrew D. Weyman
Aired on July 17th, 2006 on HBO
Throughout Lucky Louie’s prior episodes, the show has struggled to toe the line between using a dated style to express contemporary ideas and genuinely espousing a retrograde attitude. Although some moments, like Rich’s misogynistic jokes, have at least had the awareness not to directly align the viewer with the sentiments being conveyed, others, like the racist caricature in “A Mugging Story,” have seemed flat-out backwards. Louis C.K.’s conception for the show doesn’t seem inherently misguided, but the missteps of the early episodes have made the approach feel questionable.
It’s refreshing then, to see a half hour which finally works as C.K. intends. From the beginning of the cold open, writer Jon Ross puts the freedom from censorship allowed by HBO to good use,...

Last weekend, the news broke that Sons Of Anarchy star, Charlie Hunnam, pulled out of Fifty Shades Of Grey. The news sent the media into a frenzy, as everyone speculates who will replace him as Christian Grey. But his part isn’t the only shakeup on the project. The Gossip Table‘s Noah Levy gives the full report in less than 60 seconds.
Here are the highlights:
Dakota Johnson is growing uncomfortable with such a racy role and may be pulling out of the project as well. With Johnson on the fence, the project is slowly unraveling. During a radio interview, Britney Spears said that James Franco should replace Hunnam. Dallas star Josh Henderson tells Tgt that he wants to be Christian Grey. “Christian is very much like [my character] Jon Ross,” he says.

This week on Dallas, there are several love confessions, double the pregnancy trouble and a murder that is going to put Jon Ross in some hot water. Farewell Fake Marta! We hardly knew you and your crazy eyes. Honestly, I'm going to miss Marta. Every time Marta showed up on screen, usually skulking around drawing hearts around Jon Ross' name, you knew something nuts was about to go down.

This week on Dallas, Jr wins the day (for now) while Christopher finally decides to get his hands dirty with some blackmail. Also there is a lot of love square stuff I still refuse to care about. Plus Jr takes his eyebrows on a victory tour, including a jaunt to Cowboys stadium where he waves to all of adoring Texas on a giant screen.
After finally securing Southfork, Jr decides it's time for a much-needed vacation. All that scheming, backstabbing, and double-crossing can really take it out of you! So he leaves Southfork in the not-remotely capable hands of Jon Ross and hops into a helicopter for far off places. "Now that you've finally won Southfork, where are you going?" Jon Ross asks. "To Disney World to terrify children!" Jr cackles, and off he goes into the sky. Finally free to feel the wind rush through his eyebrows.

Exclusive: Nickelodeon is betting big on Lucas Cruikshank. In a pretty quick turnaround, I’ve learned that the network has picked up comedy pilot Marvin, Marvin toplined by Fred star Cruikshank to series with a whopping 26-episode order. The network is expected to make the announcement at its upfront presentation later today. The series order comes four weeks into the run of Fred: The Show, a live-action, short-form comedy series created by and starring YouTube standout Cruikshank as his signature character Fred Figglehorn. I hear that Nickelodeon is extending that series of 11-minute segments with a new 28-episode order on top of the original 21-episode pickup. Additionally, the network is working on a third Fred movie with Cruikshank following the success of the first two. Marvin, Marvin, created by Jon Ross (10 Things I Hate About You), stars Cruikshank as a alien teen living with a human family, while trying to fit into life on earth.

Exclusive: Nickelodeon is moving ahead with production on scripted comedy pilot Bad Fairy. The multi-camera comedy, written and executive produced by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas (MTV’s My Super Psycho Sweet 16), follows the unlikely friendship between a rebellious teen fairy and an “adorkable” 14-year-old girl who form a bond as they help each other navigate the perils of both teenage and fairy life. Production on the pilot starts next week in Los Angeles. This is the second pilot greenlighted by Nickelodeon over the past month, along with the Jon Ross-created Marvin, Marvin, which stars starring Lucas Cruikshank as a quirky, intergalactic new kid in school who clumsily tries to adapt to his new life as a human teenager.

hollywoodnews.com: Don’t want to wait until next summer to see a preview of the rejuvenated 80’s hit “Dallas”? TNT will air clips from the pilot on Monday during the season premieres of “The Closer” and “Rizzoli & Isles.”
The revival of the series (which is already slated for 10 episodes) will be led by original cast members Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, and Linda Gray. The newer generation will include Josh Henderson and Jesse Metcalfe (who have both appeared on “Desperate Housewives”) playing J.R.’s son Jon Ross and Bobby’s son Christopher, respectively. Jordana Brewster of “Fast & Furious” will play Elena, the love interests of Jon Ross Jr. and Christopher—this despite Christopher’s engagement to Rebecca (Julie Gonzalo of “Veronica Mars”).
Per the network’s official comments contrasting the original and current series, “The original Dallas aired from 1978 to 1991 and centered on the Ewing family,...

17 year-old Nebraska native Lucas Cruikshank created a character Fred, that, like him or loathe him, made him the youngest ever to sit atop YouTube’s most subscribed channels list. (He’s since been overtaken by 20 year-old Ryan Higa aka NigaHiga) And that venerable high-pitched “6 year-old” Fred Figglehorn’s incredibly popular videos even led to a feature movie around the character that was picked up by Nickelodeon as a TV movie to air September 17. Today Nickelodeon confirmed that Cruikshank will now star in his very own half-hour TV comedy series on the network called Marvin, Marvin. The show is part of an overall talent deal the network signed with Cruikshank who appeared in a recent guest spot on its web-inspired comedy iCarly. Jon Ross (10 Things I Hate About You) will create and executive produce the series that had Cruikshank staring as Marvin, “a new kid in school who is a bit odd.
