The release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still over a year away. Rumors persisted of a teaser trailer coming in October, a full 18 months ahead of its release. Rumors again popped up saying that the teaser trailer would be attached to the final Hobbit film. Both of those rumors obviously turned out to be false.
Supposedly the teaser trailer was "complete and ready to go" as far back as October according to Batman on Film, but, like I've already said, a teaser that far ahead of the movie's release just seems insane. Some sites even reported that the teaser leaked. But in all my searching I have not been able to find it, only un-detailed reports of what's in it, which makes me think the whole thing is false.
The latest report from Korean entertainment news website KDrama makes sense purely on a logical basis.

Professional artist Jeremy Roberts, who has done art for both Marvel Comics and DC Comics, has created a poster of the DC trinity. Taking inspiration from the cover image of Icons: The DC Comics & Wildstorm art of Jim Lee and the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Roberts has created the coolest unofficial poster so far. The likenesses to the actors and accurate recreation of the movie costumes is solid work. Best of all, no "Sad Batman."

We often post impressive pieces of fan-art here on Cbm, but this one is so good, I honestly thought it was an official piece of promo art for a second! Created by artist Jeremy Roberts (you can check out more of his work by clicking here), it takes its inspiration from a piece of artwork from Jim Lee. Using the likenesses of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot, this Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice poster makes it very easy to imagine how this trio of heroes will look when they unite on the big screen for the first time in live-action on March 26th, 2016. It's pretty incredible, eh? Jeremy is a professional artist who has worked on books like Man of Steel: The Fate of Krypton and provided covers for DC Comics titles such as New Suicide Squad. If the first official poster for the Zack Snyder...

New Suicide Squad #1
Written by Sean Ryan
Art by Jeremy Roberts
Colors by Blond
Published by DC Comics
The lineup up for the New Suicide Squad assembled by Mr. (Vic?) Sage is quite the Murderer’s Row. There’s Task Force X veterans Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and Black Manta back for another go as well as newcomer (and another Joker groupie) Joker’s Daughter and new team leader Deathstroke, whose costume is colored in a particularly striking way by Blond. The first few pages of New Suicide Squad #1 show this team in action in big wide screen panels with shattered glass, bullets, and explosions. Unfortunately, this ends up being the whole comic with Sage and Amanda Waller providing color commentary over the mayhem. Artist Jeremy Roberts shows some flashes of nice artwork, like Deathstroke and Deadshot squaring off before the big mission and any scene with Joker Daughter’s ruthlessly...

After appearing on The CW's "Arrow", the character 'Amanda Waller' and her 'Task Force X', aka 'Suicide Squad' will be relaunched in a new DC Comics' series:
Available July 9, 2014, "New Suicide Squad" will be written by Sean Ryan and illustrated by Jeremy Roberts, including 'Deadshot', 'Harley Quinn', 'Joker’s Daughter', 'Deathstroke' and 'Black Manta', while their leader Waller deals with a new set of challenges including power struggles and less autonomy.
The CW's "Arrow" episode "Suicide Squad", written by Keto Shimizu and Bryan Q. Miller, directed by Larry Teng, aired March 19, 2014, with Waller sending the squad on their first mission:
"...following the return of 'Slade' (Manu Bennett) and his promise to make good on his threat to destroy the loved ones of 'Oliver', Oliver focuses all his energy on preparing for battle with his former friend. 'Sarah' (Caity Lotz) tries to help but, fearing for her safety,...

So Infinity (w. Jonathan Hickman a. Jim Cheung, Dustin Weaver) concluded what’s been an interesting if not exactly mind-blowing run. The Avengers return to earth to sort out Thanos and his nasty mates, Maximus of the Inhumans cracks wise and saves the world and Rocket Raccoon makes an all-too brief (like, one panel appearance). The main point of the event seems to have been to launch the Inhumanity series – which to be fair, does look kind of interesting – but beyond that, I’m not sure what we’ve learnt. None of the characters seem to have radically changed from what I, as a pretty casual Marvel reader, understand to be their default personality setting to be. What happens to Thanos (and I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that yes, something happens to the primary antagonist in the last issue of a comic book series) is cool,...

Well, it seems after some initial confusion the New 52 universe is starting to come into its’ own. Zero Year is redefining the Bat myth and we finally have a comic featuring Harley Quinn that doesn’t make us apathetic, angry or squirm. In fact what we do get is a clever, self aware and generally quite fun comic. The narrative isn’t really important as nothing really happens until the last few pages. What is important is what happens that seems surreal or unreal and breaks the fourth wall.
To surmise; Harley is bored sat inside a storage unit. She’s chilling out, eating candy, drinking soda pop, reading comics and listening to disembodied voices. The fun really starts when she starts hearing the voices of her new writing team; Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. Cue a riotous adventure, or adventures, as Harley is whisked from one hypothetical adventure to...

The gorgeous art you see before you was in the artist's words, "a quick drawing that I did in the afternoon." Why can't my quick drawings look like this? Its a bit of a bummer, as all I can put together are various minion drawings, and for those I just end up tracing the promo art from the front of a mini corn dogs box.
Okay, so my jealousy should not be the focus of this post. Instead, let's focus on the superb drawing of the new Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan, done by pro Jeremy Roberts, otherwise known as JPRart on his Deviant Art account. The pose is classic and strong, and I love his bold use of color. This piece is probably one of my favorite renderings of Kamala and her new costume, which I'm slowly starting to love. ★★★☆☆ Building on their reputation for introducing overlooked terrors to a new generation, Arrow Films this week unleash director Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs (1991). Though it may not be one of Craven's very best efforts, it does create a sense of tension seldom felt in horror cinema. There's a local house which kids are warned never to go near, as the owners are a little odd - to say the least. So it's with trepidation that Fool (Brandon Quintin Adams) is persuaded by his sister's boyfriend Leroy (Ving Rhames) to accompany him and friend Spenser (Jeremy Roberts) as they break into the abode.

An unusual film from Wes Craven, The People Under The Stairs still contains the his fascination with horror in suburbia, Ryan writes...
In the late 60s and early 70s, horror cinema began to put aside the castles and capes of the past. Vampiric noblemen like Count Dracula were being replaced by new monsters like Mark Lewis, the serial killer photographer in Peeping Tom, and murderous motelier Norman Bates in Psycho.
Kicking and screaming, horror was moving into the present - into contemporary cities and respectable suburbs. In literature, authors such as Ira Levin, Richard Matheson and Stephen King were at the forefront of this new movement, with their work reinventing stories of the spectral, satanic and paranormal for a new age.
Wes Craven was one of a young generation of filmmakers who brought about a similar change in 70s cinema. Along with George A Romero,...

"'Faora' and 'Nam-Ek' attacked Superman. With their combined strength, they brought the 'Man of Steel' to his knees.
"We are warriors and have never lost a battle," Faora cried.
"With lightning speed, the hero broke free. He lifted Faora and Nam-Ek up and slammed their heads together, instantly knocking them unconscious.

"Disappearing Act" gave the Body of Proof team a different type of mystery to solve. Instead of proving the cause of death, they looked for signs of life.
I wondered from the beginning if Jerry Roberts had planned this all himself. Stealing $1 billion gives you a lot of options. I figured the dental implants could be faked but it was the piece of bone that stumped me. Obviously Jerry was willing to do anything to flee the country and start a new life.
It was hard to decide which supposedly dead man was the worse of the two. Yes, Jerry robbed thousands of people of their life savings, many of whom he never even met... but Collin Olson left his wife feeling guilty for his death while he enjoyed traveling the world. Is it worse to destroy the lives of people you've never met or torture the one person you promised to love?...

From VancouverFilm.Net, Sneak Peek a new series of books, with covers illustrated by Jeremy Roberts, revealing images from the upcoming 3D feature "Man of Steel":
"In the pantheon of superheroes, 'Superman' is the most recognized and revered character of all time. 'Clark Kent'/'Kal-El' (Henry Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination.
"Transported to Earth years ago from 'Krypton', an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here?
"Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents 'Martha' (Diane Lane) and 'Jonathan Kent' (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions.
"But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer?
"Clark must become the hero known as 'Superman', not only...

Note: The second and third pages of this article weren't working earlier today. That has now been fixed. My apologies. Will any superhero news be able to top today's Avengers trailer? We'll try. Who is Wonder Woman's father? Is Joel Schumacher a fan of fellow Batman director Christopher Nolan? Are there college courses that focus on comic books? What are the 40 greatest Spider-Man moments of all time? Is there any kind of update on Mark Millar's Supercrooks? Who has been spotted in a mocap suit on the set of R.I.P.D? Read about all this and more in today's Superhero Bits. More cool 2D fan art from Cool Vibe [1]. It's Iron Man by Jeremy Roberts. DC Comics is about to make a major addition to the Wonder Woman mythos - she's going to learn the identity of her father. We won't spoil it here, but it's someone you've heard of,...

In May 2008, just after Iron Man dominated the first summer weekend, Marvel announced an aggressive schedule to introduce stand-alone movies for their recognizable heroes that would culminate in the May 2012 movie The Avengers.
Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (???) were the obvious three. Plus Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) were probable options.
However, the Hulk’s membership was always questionable due to more than just its two lackluster box office attempts. Marvel Studio chief Kevin Feige has been playful about hinting that the “Hulk universe” would factor in, but not necessarily the angry green giant.
Luckily, Feige opened up a bit more to SFX Magazine (via SuperHeroHype). Here’s the juiciest quote from the interview, “Everyone loved [Iron Man]. It’s our job to do the same with Thor and Captain America two years from now, so by the...

He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for cinema's sake!
With little but scorn
and pounding of drums,
Rooty toot hoots

Sandy Jaws is comin' to town
As I dream back over many happy years of movie going, some of my favorite lines from old reviews dance in my head like visions of sugarplums. Good movies, bad movies, doesn't matter, just so the line dances. I thought I'd share them in the holiday spirit. Curiously, most of the lines come from movies so bad I didn't want a refund,...
