As the legal battle between the Writers Guild of America and Hollywood’s top agencies continues, those top agencies are cancelling their annual Emmy parties, multiple sources have told TheWrap.
The cancellations continue a trend that began in May during upfronts, where agencies canceled the usual parties held in New York to celebrate the upcoming TV season. Annual agency Emmy parties have been held at top restaurants in Los Angeles as well as the private residences of agency heads like UTA Co-President Jay Sures.

2Nd Update: Queen of the South writer-producer Jorge Reyes said Wednesday that his former Gersh agents have apologized for canceling a planned network meeting, and that he’s accepted their apology and is moving on.
He also is deleting his angry Twitter thread that surfaced yesterday about the subject because “it’s served its purpose and the situation is resolved.”
“So the Gersh guys called me, copped to everything & apologized unreservedly,” Reyes tweeted late last night. “People can react emotionally, out of character, and with bad judgement, and agents are no different. My previous experience up to this incident was good, and their apology was sincere, so I’ve accepted it and for me, this is done and I’m moving forward to some positive shit now.”
Thanking “everyone for backing me up,” he told his Twitter supporters that “the resolution came as a direct result of your reactions and your support on here,...

In a sign of hostility in the war between the WGA and Hollywood’s largest talent agencies, Gersh Agency has come under fire from TV and film writers for canceling a network meeting that it had arranged for a now-former client.
Writer Jorge Reyes disclosed the incident in a series of tweets on Monday. Reyes asserted that he arrived on Monday for a long-scheduled meeting at the Fox network only to find that it had been canceled. The network, according to Reyes’ tweets, later told him the meeting was canceled by his former reps at Gersh.
Reyes could not immediately be reached for comment. Gersh confirmed the substance of Reyes’ account in a statement issued Tuesday.
“Gersh set these meetings several months ago before the strike when Mr. Reyes was a Gersh client. When the client signed with another agency, the meetings were removed from the books as is normal protocol.
